My first time here. I arrived 10minutes early for my appointment with my Yorkie. The floors were littered with pet dander and pet hair. I thought I could overlook that, and perhaps they were having a bad day the day prior and couldn't get the place cleaned up. The actual groomer wasn't there. I asked and the man who was there, her husband, said she took her daughter for a doctor's appointment. So finally after I sat around asking him questions, he said he should give her a bath, probably hoping I'd leave but I followed him to the back room to watch him bath my Yorkie. He put on industrial strenght rubber gloves! Is he a dog groomer or industrial waste worker? In all my life I've never seen dog washer wear gloves. How can he get her scrubbed clean with those on? He was rinsing her down and ran water right over her face and ears. I thought, "is he a mad-man or what?" Then I reached over and felt the water, ice cold water. I told him, "never wash a Yorkie with cold water, Never!" Then he waited 30 seconds for warm water and he poured shampoo right over her eyes and head! I almost lost my mind! I had to wait until she was rinsed to get her out of there! He started to rinse her back first leaving shampoo in her eyes! Oh my lord! Then he did a simple quick rinse of her eye and I grabbed the sprayer, saying that shampoo is not rinsed from her eyes! I rinsed her eyes holding her ears down so water wouldn't get in them. This is not a dog washer! This is not someone who should work with dogs! Then he said she has to go in a cage to wait for the groomer. That cage was dirty and filled with some other dogs hair! I said I taking my Yorkie home now. I said how much do you want for the shampoo? He called his wife and she said $30. The pricing board says yorkies start at $30 -$45 and UP! I paid the man and left. Oh and I had written some instructions earlier on a post-it note pad he handed me and just noticed this note pad was from Cash Express! Having money problems? I wonder why? He said they ran out of shampoo so they bought a small bottle of it at the local pet store. Every dog gets the same shampoo here! I guess they got to busy order it. I would think a groomer would have 5-6 kinds of shampoos and conditioners? Nope! Not here! ...and Saying that this place is dirty is an understatement! The fact that this man is not skilled with dogs is an understatement!
They HAD a Yorkie once, lived to be 4-5 years old! It's his dog too and he didn't even know why it died. What kind of dog owner is this? If this is how you expect your dog to be treated then so be it, but this is not how I treat my dogs! I sure wish My regular groomer wasn't booked solid until the end of September! I know why she's booked solid! She takes one dog at a time. She's gentle and my yorkies loves her! Take your small dog to Puppy Love in Georgetown. She works out of her home, buts it's clean, and your dog is treated with respect, and your dog will like her. read more
