I am so pleased that I found a place that can really put artistry in grooming. I have a doodle and obviously grooming is so important for a healthy pup. Lilo did great and also Marleni the groomer did an AMAZING job. the convince to of being able to text for an appointment was also really nice. This review is after my first time as a client of this business. I picked this groomer for two reasons: 1) excellent Yelp reviews and 2) they are within a mile of my house. Most reviews were for small dogs so I stopped by in advance to see if they'd groom my Great Pyrenees female. The answer: Yes! I had to wait a few days for an appointment but boy was it wotth it! I can't remember the last time my dog was this white, this fluffy. The groomer got out all of the fur mats my girl got from rolling around in who-knows-what, gave her a haircut in delicate places and didn't over-trim (my request). A great job, much better than I was hoping for. I've only one critique: Another groomer in the main entry room was masked for Covid, but the counter person I dealt with on both occasions was unmasked (I was!). I tried my best to social distance but frankly I was a bit uncomfortable. Take that as you will, but overall my experience was great. I expect I'll be a repeat customer. read more

Have taken my dogs to Absolutely Paws-itive many times to get their nails clipped. I have always found them to be great with my dogs and do a fantastic job. One of my dogs is very skittish and not easy to deal with when getting his nails clipped. They work well with him which is a great relief to me. Highly recommend them. read more

The reason I went to this doggie salon was for the tender-loving care that they promote for their business. I have no doubt in my mind that they weren't careful or loving to my dog, even though they did cut a part of his ear. My dog can't sit still sometimes, especially at the groomers, so this was understandable. The staff was very nice and told me upfront what had happened which was great. The reason why I only gave them three stars is because the place smelled TERRIBLE. Seriously, it didn't just smell like "dog", but it smelled like dog crap and pee. I'm not sure if they don't clean the kennels enough or what, but it smelled so bad that I don't want to go back there. read more

We adopted a 1 year old terrier from a shelter about two years ago and a friend recommended that I take him to Marlen a for a hair cut. I've never had a dog that required grooming so I didn't know what to ask for but she talked to me about different cuts. I told her what I wanted and she cut him exactly as I had hoped. He can sometimes be a bit of a behavior problem but she works with him and I can tell she loves dogs as much as I do. We'll never go any place else. read more

My dog has never been professional bathed, but she has a wonderful disposition, took to the workers very well and had a great time. She was so soft and smelled great when I picked her up. The groomer (I think his name was James) was wonderful and had a very good vibe that my pup and I really felt good about. He called when she was ready and held her there for an extra hour while I picked the kids up at school. The price was great too, as I had expected it to cost more for professional grooming. I definitely recommend Absolutely Paws-itive. I do agree with another reviewer that the lobby had an animal smell, but I didn't put much thought into it. It wasn't breath-taking, just a natural animal smell. I understand that they see many animals all during the week and the animal smell is just a given. It was no big deal at all, the place was very clean. Great job, guys! read more

I have used this business for three years. They do a fairly good job with grooming. I thought my appointment was at 9:30 and the Groomer insisted 9:00. I got there at 9:20 which by her definition was late. She went and called someone to replace my grooming appt. for my dogs. I should mention that I had waited approximately 3 weeks for the appointment and took off 2 hours from work to see that they got to the appointment. I asked why she did not call me as she had the time to call the other individual to bring in their dog to take the appt I had scheduled. Her reply was, "It is not my job." After 3 years of doing business with this organization this is how you get treated as a customer. I should note that I found a Groomer in Nicholasville for $11 less per dog. I cannot vouch for how well they do yet but I did not have to wait three week for an appointment and they were very pleasant on the phone. Just wanted to write this review to let others know that this business is not professional with their long term customers. I noticed that someone else has a review for this business for 3/23/16 who had similar problems. I advise whoever to look for another groomer. read more
