After years of looking at my dead and weed ridden yard I was finally able to pull the trigger on sod. I made a few online inquiries and Jason was the first to reply. He was at my house that afternoon measuring, discussing sprinkler upgrades and provided me a quote on site. I received a few other quotes, but felt Jason was the most genuine and offered a very competitive price. After a few add on modifications to the quote an install date was set. Jason and crew showed up on time and finished the job in one day, even with my added sprinkler repair...thanks Chris! "Just sod" = "just dicks" We called last Friday to schedule an appointment for a quote... we scheduled an appointment for Tuesday at 1:00pm... 2:00pm rolls around and I have not heard from them. My appointment was not added to the schedule and we re-arranged our whole day to be home at a specific time for them... in addition to this one man specifically who accompanied the woman who measured our backyard was extremely rude. When he gave us their price or quote, which might I add was 1,000s of dollars above other quotes we had received and we made this known to him said, "well have a good day" and left. Who conducts business like that? Terrible experience. Would not recommend them for future use! Poor poor customer service and extremely over priced... $2500 for 300 square feet of sod and a revision of a working sprinkler line... fuck off! read more

Just Sod did our yard last summer and, this summer, much of it has died. We reached out to offer Just Sod additional work and to ask about the dead grass. After saying they'd get back to us with an estimate for several weeks, they finally responded by saying they weren't going to provide an estimate. Apparently, Just Sod isn't interested in guaranteeing their work product or maintaining their clients' satisfaction. read more

Great team. They were very prompt and easy to work with. Crew came out and removed the old sod, leveled and amended the soil and laid all the new sod. Instant yard. The sod had a bunch of thistle weeds in ti and Julio and I walked around and picked them out but Jason called me directly and took 200$ off for the weeds and apologized. Any company can give you a good deal but to stand by the job and make it right if there is an issue to me is the real judge, hence my 5 stars. read more

We hired Just Sod to re-work out backyard sprinklers, put our drip lines on their own irrigation zone, and replace dead grass patches with new sod. From the first step of receiving a quote to the last step of service completion, we were impressed with their professionalism, communication and quality of work. I highly recommend this company! We wanted to install sod in our backyard after several years of just having dirt and weeds. We ordered three pallets of sod after doing a ton of work to prepare the area. Laying down the sod ourselves was tedious but we were very excited at the prospect of having a lawn again. Two of the pallets ended up being kind of dried out and not really viable so we were really disappointed but when we called the company, they came out and remove the old sod and replaced it with new at no cost to us. Sod installed 4/1/19. Called a week later with concerns of spacing between the pieces of sod as this was not discussed when quoted or before installation. I felt insulted when I was told the grass "shrinks" as I've had many years of experience with sod installation/replacement & have NEVER heard such an excuse. In addition to the spacing, the sod cutting was not done very well as the old grass & weeds are popping up in the spaces of sod. I wondered why it did not come in a roll vs sod. There are pieces that were 90% weeds from the date of installation & lastly, the yard was never "rolled" & I have high pieces/low pieces that hold water & very uneven surface. Some pieces are up quite a bit higher than the rest. I don't know if they were having a bad day because their staff "called out" or if this is their way of business, but I would not use this company or recommend them. read more

We've lived in our house for 20 years, and the grass in our back yard was dead from dogs and rabbits. I found Just Sod on Yelp, and left a message for Justin on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00. He called me at 6:00 that evening, arrived by 6:30, and sent me an estimate by 9:00 the same night. The work was originally scheduled for Saturday (2 days later), but had to be rescheduled for the following Thursday due to snow. They came on Thursday promptly at 8:00, installed sod on two terraces, 4-5 tons of rock around our patio, a Breeze pathway, and a temporary fence to keep our dog off the sod. They were very organized, finished by 5:00, and cleaned up when they were done. They did everything we expected them to do, and everything looks great. I will also add here that my husband is a general contractor with high expectations. Just Sod worked with my partner and I to install sod and sprinklers in our backyard, which was previously a dirt heap. Jason's team worked in the rain all day to do the prep work. This included dealing with the complexity of old-house plumbing to install the sprinklers, and a fair amount of grading. The whole team was polite, and communicative. When they ran out of time, they returned in 36 hours--when the sod delivery of other customers permitted, and on a Saturday no less--to finish the job in the sunshine. We now have a backyard that is more beautiful than we ever thought possible. The scope of this job - preparation, installation of sod and sprinklers over 1,400 square feet - meant that it wasn't cheap, but Just Sod's quote was competitive, and it was great to get everything done in one go with one company.
