As a small business owner myself, I don't take leaving a review like this lightly, but I've had an absolute nightmare of an experience and think it's important for people to know what they're potentially engaging with by hiring this company. After an installation process where things went wrong every step of the way, I discovered that Bloom charged me for 1000 square feet of sod when they only even ordered 592. In light of this, and in light of the fact that I was given an estimate that was $828 over what it should have been earlier in the design process, I told them I would have to see a line-by-line invoice to make sure everything else was charged appropriately. I was assured by Cindy & her operations manager Emilie that I would receive this line-by-line invoice, though Emilie told me they don't like to do line-by-line invoices because then "customers can pick and choose what they want." Huh? Isn't that how the process *should* go? I followed up 3 times over the course of 2 weeks to get the promised information, and in my last communication, after still hearing nothing, I told Cindy if I didn't get the information she promised that I would be forced to file a claim with the BBB. Then things went totally off the rails. She said because of my "threats," she was turning my file over to her attorney. I said I wasn't threatening her, I simply felt I had no other way to proceed when she was refusing to provide information she had promised multiple times. Her attorney then started outright bullying me via email saying he was going to file a lien against my house if I didn't pay. I explained to him there were no grounds to file a lien as I never refused to pay, I was simply waiting for the promised information from Bloom. Furthermore, Bloom had never provided a final walkthrough, which *as specified in their own contract*, is when payment is due. The attorney continued to disregard this information & told me it didn't matter if I was overcharged, it was a "lump sum" contract. Wow. I explained once again that Bloom had promised to provide a line-by-line, and he said he would just let the court decide. I was in such disbelief that I went to Bloom the following Monday with my checkbook to try to sit down with the operations manager, Emilie, and pay the true balance due. Emilie wasn't there, but the rep at the office called her, and Emilie said she would try to reach the accountant & call me back. The office rep asked if I'd like some tea, said "It sounds like this has been really frustrating," and offered me a seat so I could wait for Emilie's call. 20 minutes later there was a knock on the door, and I could hear someone say "We hear there's a disturbance here?" IT WAS THE POLICE. Yes, you read that right -- Instead of having her accountant sit down with me or sitting down with me herself & providing the information she had promised, the owner Cindy had called the police, lied, said I was causing a disturbance which was absolutely untrue, and had me escorted off the premises. And this, again, was when I was *trying* to pay the true balance due! It was totally unbelievable. I went immediately to the BBB to file a claim, which 2 weeks later Bloom has yet to respond to, meanwhile their attorney continues to bully me via email & moved ahead with filing a lien against my home. Cindy is now saying I refused the walkthrough to apparently create grounds for a lien, which is another out-and-out lie. Never in my life would I imagine the owner of a company would behave in such a way. The amount of stress this has brought & sleep I have lost, I can't even say. And all this because Bloom refuses to honor their word & provide the promised information, when I have said every step of the way I am more than happy to pay for what was actually installed. Who *wouldn't* want to see detailed numbers after discovering they had been overcharged? Again, stay as far as you can from Bloom Floralscapes and Cindy, and if anyone you know is considering working with them, tell them to beware. UPDATE 8/15/18: Bloom's attorney is now threatening a defamation lawsuit because of this factual account. That's an interesting way to try to keep people quiet, isn't it? UPDATE 8/21/18 Bloom finally sent 2 reps for the final walkthrough, and *once again* showed up without the promised line-by-line, because "our attorney told us not to." Taking the insanity to the next level, the owner's boyfriend started harassing me on facebook with all sorts of false claims & accusations. I finally just wrote a check to get these people out of my life (and because I was truly concerned that Cindy's boyfriend might vandalize my property, or worse). On principle, I am furious w/ myself for doing this, but couldn't imagine dragging this nonsense out any longer, especially w/ someone who appears to operate with no moral compass.

The planting, mulch, and rock was done practically before I knew it. Over the first winter, Bloom stayed in touch with advice for caring for the new plants. A designer/planner came in the spring for a thorough examination, ideas, and recommendations about replacing a few plants that hadn't thrived. What I appreciate most about Bloom Floralscapes - besides how much I like the results - is the staff's attention to detail; experienced project management; practical solutions; and ability to stay within budget. In addition, I wanted it to look attractive throughout the year. After doing considerable research, I found Landscape Connection and called them. Within a very short time, I was put in touch with Hailey Bruchner who came to my house and talked to my wife and me about what we wanted and contributed some ideas of her own. I was so impressed with her, I lost no time in hiring her company. Soon after that Hailey presented us with a detailed design that included everything we wanted and more. Once we decided to move forward, Hailey met me at Jensen Sales where together we selected rocks. I enjoy looking at rocks and I can appreciate their individual and unique beauty. As we looked at what was available, I could see that Hailey loves rocks too and has a superb eye when evaluating them. We completed phase 1 of the work with him this spring (deck demo and paver patio install) and it was absolutely seamless. From tweaking design to picking materials, Nick was always accessible and a great communicator. His crew worked quickly and efficiently and we are SO thrilled with our new outdoor space. We hired Nick and Viewpoint Design Group LLC to landscape our backyard in April 2022. Our project…read moreincluded design services, complete removal of existing backyard landscaping and patio, save for one tree, pouring of a new concrete patio and hot tub pad, installation of a gas fire pit and gas line for our grill, new sod, 5 large trees, around 20 plants, and a new irrigation system to include new valves and lines. Many aspects of the project fell short, and if you don't want to read any further, my recommendation is to look elsewhere for your landscaping needs. Pros -Very solid design work, our backyard originally looked great and the design is much more functional and private. Cons -Patio: the subcontractor ran short on concrete and I witnessed them pulling what was left from the pump lines and a catch tray to complete the project. The result is a portion of our patio that has incorrect drainage/pooling, spalling and cracking. -Irrigation: and entirely new system, including valves, was supposed to be installed. None of the valves were replaced and I am now having significant problems that will require a complete replacement of the 20 year old valves. -Plants: Nick assured me that the 7 boxwoods he had planned would hold up to my two male dogs. They were dead within 3 months, replaced under his warranty, and were all dead again the following spring. In researching, it turns out that boxwoods are not tolerant of dog urine whatsoever and something else should have been used. -Fire pit: beautiful centerpiece in our backyard. Unfortunately, it was slammed together at the last minute and the internal structure couldn't support the lava rock. I rebuilt it myself less than 6 months after the project was completed. Lawn: extremely lumpy and uneven, is going to require a bunch of sand and labor to get it where it needs to be. I spoke with Nick many times after our project was completed to address some of these issues (not all were immediately present or known about) and was brushed off and made to feel like I was putting him out...after cutting him a check for $60k. Not only is the value not there, I am now paying a second time for things that weren't done correctly the first time and in some case were borderline fraudulent like the sprinkler valves.
