You're better off looking a mess in your clothes than to come here for service. I was told a time and date to come pick up my item, went and she didn't even begin alterations. I came back two hours later and she said she has a little bit more. I stepped away for 10 minutes and came back to her store closed at 5:38PM, meanwhile she said she will be here until 7:30PM. My dress is still inside, already paid for and not complete. I will never come back here again and would never suggest anyone to come here. Was referred for alterations. The owner is extremely rude and nasty. We arrived and gave her our item. She tells us to come back in 20 minutes. We come back, she slams our clothes on her counter and says she's closed we need to pay 20$. We were not even able to try on the item to ensure it fit properly. We paid immediately and she storms off. No receipt or documentation of transaction. We were so taken aback by her attitude that we left quickly. DO NOT COME HERE. 0/10! Just Sew Alterations is a small family owned business located at Sugarloaf Mills near Bass Pro Shops. I've been to this store a couple times since it is the closest to me and I can just say the job done is okay. Now the big problem here is the costumer service. The place is run by an asian lady who seems to be the owner but she is absolutely rude. She needs to work on that... like ASAP. Also, last time I took my shirt to be fixed she gave me a date and time to pick up. Showed up an hour later, and it still wasn't ready even though I called her before coming in the store. Smh. This place has disappointed me. I took a dress that I had to wear in a wedding. I brought it in on a hanger and needed the shoulders altered. When I went to pick it up the Asian lady with the red hair brings it to me in a plastic grocery bag!!! My dress was severely wrinkled! The kind of dress that couldn't be ironed. I ask her why she would ball it up and put it in a bag and I didn't bring it in that way. And her response... "You be ok." The nerve! Not an apology or anything! Just rude and disrespectful! Price was great. Came in asking if they could turn a mans scoop neck into a v-neck and was told it was possible. $10 per shirt sounded like a great price right? Wrong. She decided to do a low scoop neck instead of what I asked for. I'm giving two stars because it was done within an hour and at a good price but so freaking disappointed that the alterations are not at all what I asked for and very sad that 3 shirts seem to be ruined unless by some miracle my boyfriend likes it. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Customer service is terrible, even by Asian standards. The lady who owns this place acts like she is too busy or too good to acknowledge customers. I am of Asian descent and am aware of cultural norms and tend not to take a lack of friendliness or general customer service personally. I'm happy to do business and go about my way since I'm not one for small talk. But, the two ladies I encountered a few weeks ago were absolutely terrible. It's surprising to me how they've stayed in business so long. I took two dresses to get altered there a few weeks ago and the ladies were rude and dismissive and barely able to give me a ballpark quote. I thought maybe they were just having a bad day so I went back in today to get another dress hemmed. I rang the bell for service and I saw a lady and man working in the back. We made eye contact, she gave me a "1 min finger". So, I went into the dressing room to put on my dress in hopes they'd be ready for me when I got out. Went back out and got her attention again and she didn't acknowledge me. I ended up standing around( there's no where to sit) for five mins before giving up. I changed and left. Lesson learned- never going back here again. Please learn basic customer service since you are in the service industry. You don't have to be the friendliest but at the very least acknowledge your customers. read more

I dropped off a dress for a wedding almost 2 weeks ago and needed it today 6/21/2021. It is 2:15 PM and the place is closed however business hours reflect that they are open today?? Another customer came up and said she had been walking around the mall for an hour waiting for them to open. This is VERY unprofessional. I came here 5 YEARS AGO for another dress and they were open and reliable (I picked up my dress a week later). I'm not sure what's going on. I have to leave but will be back later today to see if they are open and I will edit this review but for now-- 1 star UPDATE: went the next day and picked up my dress- it was cut perfectly. After ordering my wedding dress online and an alteration recommendation fell through, I was scrambling to find someone that could alter my dress quickly and affordably. And with so many other things on the wedding to do list, I didn't want to waste time trekking across Atlanta and back for fittings and such. So, when a handy dandy Google search revealed a seamstress five minutes from my house at Discover Mills, I packed up my happy ass and my wedding dress and made my way there. Overall, my experience was good. The lady that runs the shop is very friendly and their prices seem reasonable (definitely cheaper than the ITP prices, but probably not the cheapest OTP). It took her a week to make the alterations, which I wouldn't consider super speedy. But really my only complaint is that Just Sew isn't a full-service shop. I had to go elsewhere to get my dress pressed, since it was a taffeta gown. For brides looking for a simple steaming, they've got you covered. read more

How many ways can I say "don't bother"? I walked in her per a recommendation to have some fabric added to a dress. From the minute I walked in, the seamstress was huffing and puffing- making it very clear she had no interest in helping me. It got to the point where I did not feel comfortable leaving my garment in her hands, because she clearly was annoyed I had come to her place of business. I ended up walking out, and she said "good". I went in off a referral and who I assumed to be the owner was very rude and and never acknowledged me upon arrival. This was my seamstress of choice for a while. All and all the service was good and good quality sewing, she altered my husband's wedding suit. As well as mine. Since my husband is so short I was always looking for a place to take his pants to get altered. Until I found this place. This was my to go place for any alterations we needed. Until I brought her three pair of pants to get altered. I mistakenly brought her one that she had already altered. It wasn't until I picked them up and got home that I realized my mistake. And also realized that she did not do a single thing to the pair of pants that she had altered. Yet she still charged me for them!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! Please do not waste your time at this location!! I took my wedding dress here and was advised that it would be ready in two weeks on Sunday. I called that following Monday to make sure it was ready for pick up and she FIRST spoke as if she didn't know what wedding dress I was speaking of THEN said it would be ready Wednesday at 4pm. Mind you there is a bad language barrier so I'm trying not to get frustrated. I arrive Wednesday and the ONLY thing that was completed was the straps, not to mention she raised my straps too high so the bra area is high, and not fitting the chest area ! I requested that the dress be taken in on the waste and the dress fit the same way it did when I brought it to her. I also requested that mesh be added to the middle THAT WAS NOT DONE! I SHOULD'VE refused to pay her, but I did pay to not cause a conflict nor scene. Now I have to take my WEDDING dress to another location and pray she did not cause damage to the dress that someone cannot fix ! read more

I can't express my disappointment in my latest experience with Just Sew Alterations. I have used them before and immediately thought of them when it came time for my wedding dress alterations instead of the bridal shop. I must say BAD mistake! I guess it's true you get what you pay for, but in my case, I didn't even get what I paid for! The staff is friendly indeed, but I'm not so confident in their ability to deliver quality alterations. I carried my dress, along with my 3 bridesmaids and scheduled our fittings for alterations. I was so thrilled at first that she was able to see my vision and even suggest alterations that I didn't know I needed to make the dress fit perfect. Long story short...after 3 dress fittings, an hour before my wedding I go to put on my dress to discover that she had not sewed up the outer seam, the dress had a gaping 2 inch whole on the side of the dress! I was beyond furious! I called the shop in a frantic trying to get her to do something about the dress. Being that I invested the money in the alterations and not to mention the wedding venue was less than 5 mins from the shop, I felt it was only reasonable to ask if she could come over and quickly sew up the dress. It would have taken her probably less than 5 mins to repair. This is when her english became bad and she was unable to understand my request or what was going on. That was like adding fuel to a blazing fire! Luckily, there is a reason wedding websites suggest an emergency kit to be with you on your wedding day! I had to be pinned into the dress in order to wear it. This wasn't the only issue with my alterations, I found out after the ceremony that she didn't even do the bustle so I could bustle the dress for the reception. I had to drag the train of my dress around the entire night so I or anyone else would trip over it. I paid for all these things and didn't get any of them! I will be seeking legal damages for my dress and this experience! Needless to say, I will NEVER take anything to her again, nor will I recommend her services! How sad it is to mess up someone's wedding day dealing with issues like this! read more

After almost two weeks, we went to pick it up - and when we showed up, the woman (unacceptably rudely) told us to to come back in an hour because she hadn't even STARTED on it yet. Dropped off new suit for alterations - agreed with woman who did the pinning (believe she was owner) that she would have it done in 1 week to pick up on the following Sunday at 1 pm - expressed that it was critical that it be done by 1 pm that Sunday as I needed for meeting on Monday and had to pick up early Sunday afternoon. Showed up at 2 pm on Sunday to pick up and was informed by same woman it was not ready - she appeared completely unconcerned with the situation - I was amazed that given a full week to complete and the limited amount of work required that it was not ready on time and in fact had not even been started (still hanging on her rack by fitting room where we had left it the Sunday before after it was pinned). I would strongly advise you take your business elsewhere - there are plenty of good tailors in Atlanta who will get it done when promised - don't be fooled by the convenience of this one's location in the mall near Neiman's and Sak's as it's likely you will be disappointed !! read more
