Open area for seating and you can view the distillery when you walk in. The guy working was knowledgeable and friendly. We just got drinks so no review of the food yet. The flatbread pizzas sounded good though. We had a seasonal cider, very faint hint of season and mostly sweet apple, this was from boring cider. Our other drink was also very sweet. This distillery makes rum in a pot still, intending to be artful and unrefined in their process. They say this makes a very smooth rum with a multitude of natural flavor. Their tasting room just off Mt Hood Highway is small but homey. Almost everything in the place is labeled "just a table" or "just a napkin dispenser" which makes for a fun theme. They offer food options (flatbreads and sandwiches for ~$10-16), and an assortment of cocktails including flights. I tried both the orange creamsicle summer special cocktail and the s'more's old-fashioned. They were not cheap, at around $15. But they were delicious. The mini cocktail flights which comes with four is $25. You can also get a "just rum" flight of 3-5 of their rums for $10-$15. I might try these next time! Great rums, we did a tasting of a 5-rum sampler with 2-specials*: Simple White: nice, strait forward, great for mixing (this is the base for all other rums) Uncle John's Cut*: the Simple White at a 122 proof, beautifully warm & smooth. Oregon Oak Rested: oh my this was a refreshing sipping rum. Maple Wood Rested: sweet w/o Bering sweet b/c they don't add any sugar, just rely on the spices. Maple Wood Rested 3yr*: an even better version of the above. Seasonal Spice: like a spice rum, but again w/o the heavy sweetness that spiced rums have due to added sugars. Blackberry Rum: a live light flavored rum. (with 2-sides of lemonade to cleanse, which also tasted good w/ the blackberry rum) For food we had two orders of the steamed dumplings (only $5/ea) served with a chili and a soy sauce for dipping. Went in on a friday night and was seated right away. Waitress Gave us menus and told us she would be right with us. Then she went to help other customers and after chatting with them, took about 10 minutes to make their drinks. Ok, no problem. After serving the customers their drinks, the waitress then glanced at us and then went to the end of the bar and started talking to another coworker (who was continuously stepping out to vape) and completely ignoring us. We sat there for 20 minutes before we just walked out. The waitress would eye us from time to time, but never came over to take our order. read more

They have amazing food, great staff, great selection of Rums too. We had lunch and the hot butter Rum sample plate. Sorry took picture after some sips. Also bought the bottle of Rum that was in a wine barrel for two years. read more

I regret not getting my server's name as she was not only very sweet but super knowledgeable about the rums I tried. She not only gave me background on the business itself but explained each rum's nuances. She explained that the oak and maple rums were infused with charred staves of whiskey barrels and not actually aged within the barrels. She talked about using cane sugar instead of molasses as well as using yeast from Barbados. It sounds like the tasting room has only been open a short time so I look forward to coming back again to see what has changed. A great experience. read more

If you want a low-key friendly place to have a delicious rum drink and some yummy food this is your place in Sandy! I had two different rum drinks one was a blackberry rum martini perfect blend of sweet and sour. The second drink was a rum daiquiri but not what you're thinking. This was in a martini glass with a spicy rum and it was delicious! I also had a grilled cheese with tomato soup-the grilled cheese was gooey the bread toasted to perfection. Highly recommended! Went in, there was one table of three women and two people working. Husband asked about their tastings and the reply was "it's on the menu." We took a seat and after no acknowledgment I went up to the counter and asked if we could get two rum flights, we actually had gone in to get some last minute gifts but thought we'd stay for a tasting. The gal replied sure but rudely let me know it'd be a few minutes since she was making drinks for some people. She was literally standing in front of the microwave. This is the place to go to learn about rum. I learned more about rum than I could have imagined. This is a fairly new opening but the ambiance feels as though they have been there for years. We stopped in the other day to check out the new tasting room. The staff was very knowledgeable about the different rums and ciders and happy to help us decide on a drink. The drinks we had were awesome! We had a great lunch, appetizer, panini sandwich and pizza. We thought everything was very reasonably priced and it was a very nice experience trying something new. It will definitely be our stopping place going through Sandy in the future! read more

If you want to go out for some unique drinks this is the place. I tried a tasting flight of ciders and never had so many great flavors to choose from. The Lavender was impressive. For the mixed drinks I would start with the El Presidente or the Grog. The stories behind them are interesting and the drinks are very well crafted.
