The piercing was pretty painless (it was my third hole so I'm kinda a pro.) I was really happy with my experience. It's a calm environment which I think would be good for kids. You are given a cleaning lotion and instructions how to keep them clean and infection free! I am pretty sure they do cartilage piercing on the ear also. The piercer tried to remove my original jewelry without checking the gauge and mistaked my threadless stud for a screw-top. She had so much trouble removing it that she used two pliers, causing unnecessary trauma to my piercing. Then, she eyeballed the size and inserted a hoop that was clearly too small, causing my nose to bleed further. She then replaced it with a second hoop, again without confirming the proper gauge. My piercing ended up bleeding throughout the entire night. Because the piercer seemed to lack experince, I sought a second opinion who confirmed the gauge was too large and the material wasn't hypoallergenic. I returned to the shop where they refused responsibility, saying they didn't need to confirm my guage because they "know their guages" and dismissed my concerns by saying "all piercers talk sh*t." They've refused to issue a refund despite the clear mishandling. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for safe or professional piercing services.

I really enjoyed my experience with Naomi because was so welcoming, professional, and really took the time to go over options. After picking the jewelry, Starr was ready for me. The room is very clean and private- and the bed you lay down on is large and comfy :). She mapped out a few locations for the forward helix and conch based on the placement and anatomy and she took pictures on her phone since I had a hard time seeing it in the mirror. If Naomi didn't calm me down already, Starr is really the most gentle and friendly piercer I've met. Incredibly patient. And I would like to believe that her swift skills in piercing made the experience pain-free. I also did my downsizing with Starr and it was a breeze. All in all, I wish I got all my piercings done at Nine Moon- this place is a gem. I loved the atmosphere of the shop: spotless, classy, sophisticated, and with a large selection of high-end jewelry for you to ooh, ahh, and oggle as you please. They tried finagling the hole for some time to save my 8 year old piercing, all while trying to ease my anxiety and talk me through the pain of the irritated piercing. After no avail, we decided to give up and let the piercing retire so the spot can heal again. With all that said and done, I was not charged because they understood the trauma of retiring and letting go of an irritated piercing. Here we are 4+ years later and taking out nose jewelry feels like an operation itself. I've been coming to Sam to get my occasional change for as long as I've had my nose pierced and he's always been very professional. Never had an issue with my piercing since coming here. By no means is he gentle but he is efficient and he knows what he's doing. I don't really know other places that will change your piercing for you but this has been my go-to because it's always easy and his prices are reasonable. I will say that the operating hours are tricky because I have stopped by on several occasions during their open hours where they're not opened yet or are on break, but it's not the biggest issue. He's either very busy or things are slow and there's no telling sometimes.
