I had wanted to get my ears pierced for a while and saw on Facebook that Zaraz offered ear piercing. Located only 3 minutes away from my apartment, I decided to check it out. As I walked in I was greeted by both a sales assistant and Rebeca the owner. Both were very friendly and accommodating, and within a few minutes, I had beautiful sparkly studs in my ears. I was very pleased with how meticulous Rebeca was on making sure the holes were even, she even pulled out a little ruler to measure. The piercing was pretty painless (it was my third hole so I'm kinda a pro.) I was really happy with my experience. It's a calm environment which I think would be good for kids. You are given a cleaning lotion and instructions how to keep them clean and infection free! I am pretty sure they do cartilage piercing on the ear also. Beside the ear piercing, they have a ton of cute accessories to browse. I ended up getting a necklace that have been searching for after seeing it on a girl at the Belmont Stakes. There are two other tailors within walking distance that I could've taken my dress to, but I went to Zaraz due to all of their outstanding yelp reviews. I brought in a bridesmaids' dress to get shortened by 4 or so inches - a fairly straightforward job. However, my experience wasn't as glowing as others. The owner is quite soft spoken and confused me when I initially got measured. She seemed very busy that day and instructed me to change in the back room/office where her and another lady were working. I was perplexed, as there was no apparent try-on room, so I went to the nearest door (which actually was a bathroom) and tried to put my dress on. While I was half dressed, she knocked on the door and exclaimed "No, no you can't change in there, you need to come out here!" Yikes. Sorry, my mistake for wanting privacy. I'm not ashamed of my body, however I did feel like I bothered her and felt very embarrassed about not understanding. While the dress was being pinned, I asked that it be above the floor. I wore the same shoes that I did to the wedding so we knew where the dress needed to fall. I was told no problem and she'll call me when it's ready. When it was time for the bill to be written up, I immediately went pale in the face. $84 to take a few inches off the dress. No other alteration, nor was it a rush job, so I felt this price was on the higher side. I left my deposit and walked out feeling flabbergasted about the whole situation. Certainly, it was my mistake for not asking about the price beforehand. I never got a call to tell me my dress was ready, so I returned 10 days later. I did have privacy changing this time, but the dress was still too long for me. No big deal, she agreed to shorten it and assured me it would be ready in a couple days. On my last visit, I wandered in on my own volition (no call, again) to pick up the dress. Thankfully the length was just above my shoes like I needed, all neat and straight. I asked to use the Yelp check-in offer while paying but she wouldn't apply the discount and stated that I had needed to show it before any work was done. Zaraz is a charming little boutique for jewelry, accessories and all things ladylike but I would never return to get anything altered there again. read more

I am so happy to have come across this place to get my baby girl's ears pierced especially with so many stores closed down. The owner was very nice and welcoming and gentle with my 5 month old. I knew we were in good hands. This place was the only one that I could find that was open and doing ear piercings for babies. I looked up the word, " tailor " on Yelp and found a good review. This place is near to where I live, so I went. I ordered a dress from Amazon that was beautiful but did not fit at all. I walked in off the street, the woman took my measurements, and took the dress out, (where you cannot even see that the dress has been altered at all). I came to do one fitting; it still was a little awkward, so she completely took apart the dress, re-made it essentially; and it is now the most beautiful dress I own!! After realizing the bridesmaid dress I had to wear in a wedding was too long for me, I had exactly one week to get it altered so that I wouldn't trip and embarrass myself while walking down the aisle. I have poor planning skills, obviously. A quick search on Yelp brought me to Zaraz on Saturday morning. Rebeca, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart and assured me that despite the short turnaround, she is would have the dress back to me before the wedding. I got a call from her letting me know that the dress was ready four days later. I went to pick it up and the length was now perfect and the dress looks beautiful. Had to give Rebecca yet another well-deserved 5-star rating. I took my dress in 2 weeks before my friend's wedding (because of course I waited until the very last minute) and was concerned because the waist fit well, but it was very long and the top was so tight that it gave me the dreaded muffin top and back fat hanging over the dress. Rebecca took her time pinning the bottom all the way around and showed me that the top could be adjusted as well. I did think that the price was expensive and had to put down a $50 deposit, but I pretty much shrugged my shoulders and left the shop thinking "oh well, I saved this for the last minute, I'm not taking it elsewhere." 1.5 weeks later I got the call from Rebecca that my dress was ready to get picked up. I came by and as I was paying the balance, Rebecca told me very clearly that if I was unhappy with the way the dress fit to call her right away and let her know so I could bring it back, which I was surprised to hear her offer because the wedding was only 5 days away. Remember when I was taken aback by the price? As soon as I put the dress on I realized that with Rebecca, you certainly get what you pay for. The dress fit like a glove and I no longer looked like a human muffin! The quality was, without question, top-notch and worth the cost. Had it not been, I did feel comfortable with the fact that Rebecca would have taken it back and adjusted it even with only a few days to the wedding. So I messaged Zaraz Wednesday from LAX airport in a panic because I was flying to New York for my cousin's wedding and had to get a dress altered by Friday. This would be the 3rd time having the dress altered as the first two didn't turn out right. Zaraz got back to me so quickly and suggested I call the store. When I called, Rebecca was so nice and told me to bring the dress in as soon as I got to NY. Mind you, the earliest I could bring the dress in was Thursday and the wedding was Friday. But they did it! I am so thankful that even with such short notice Rebecca was able to hem my dress and do such a beautiful job. She charged a fair price.
