The Owner "RILEY" is a Super Nice Guy, and he is Extremely knowledgeable about Music and Movies. JOEL is his brother and is the Owner as well. Their prices on DVD (and some Blueray) movies are as low a $1, though most of his movies are fairly priced, and are Sequenced in "Alphabetical" order. He has a Expansive VARIETY of ALBUMS as well. He even has Music CDS !, and "Hard to Find" Albums, DVDS, CDS and Blu-rays. RILEY (who I met) is just a REALLY GOOD GUY ! He is a "RARE BREED" when it comes to Business Owners these days. Because ALL that they think of is MONEY and are "GREEDY" ! Everybody that came to the Store left HAPPY, with plenty of "Good Finds". While I was there (for Hours) looking through their DVD Selection, I heard EVERYONE telling RILEY how much they Enjoyed his store. This place is a "GEM" ! Only the best record store on the entire west coast would know to buy a copy of the Xanadu motion picture soundtrack. And there you have it. Music Millennium is the best record store on the entire west coast. Oh sure, I have about 5,000 other reasons, but that's the most recent one. I've yet to pay a visit and walk out without buying at least 3-4 albums. Add the CDs, DVDs, and all manner of other music/movie-related goodness and this place is the gold standard.

Their rock/r&b section was pretty big but majority of the records were sorted by artist which made it easy to browse. Truly, I have never seen such a wide collection of DVDs, cassettes, CDs, and vinyl. Another alarming thing is how many of these items, such as the cassettes, are in the original wrapper! It was like a museum to the past, and I mean that in the best ways possible. It reminded me of the 90s being at the local record store combing the aisles for something that peaked my interest. This place is decorated with lots of plants, musical instruments and cats. Yes, cats. Apparently proceeds of this place help our furry friends and the cats often end up here as a second-chance shelter, so how do you not love that? The guy working there wasn't the friendliest at first, but once I started asking questions and buying things, he lightened up. I'm not sure if he thought I was just wasting his time at first or not. Also, he had two birds in different cages both covered up. I felt bad for them as I could see that was their entire life. I asked him what their names were even though I couldn't see them only hear them, and he acted so weird about it. So sad the keep an animal in a cage, let alone a bird. Covered up in the darkness. I see so many rude clerks and staff at places that are snotty for no reason at all, so when I see this guy busting his back and keeping his cool, he deserves some common courtesy. Bach & Rock was a shop we just stumbled across while we were out and about in Astoria. This place is loaded with musical instruments, they sell CD's and other physical forms of music that have long stopped seeing new prints in a broad way. For movies they have DVD's, VHS and probably any other form of physical media I am not mentioning for movies. On top of that this place is kind of an incense heaven. The selection is huge and there were at least five different spots I found in the store where they had incense sticks. I bought quite a bit and was pleased with finding so many scents I don't normally come across. The atmosphere is quirky to say the least. Not only is their windblowing instruments everywhere, it's loaded with plants and other decor that definitely gives this place a unique signature. And of course the fact that a real parrot was here only enhanced that. And of course we had to swing by and say "hi" to the bird.

The dude that works here is always super cool and happy to give recommendations if you so desire but also smart enough to just leave you be if you're in the mood for browsing through the assortment of CDs and vinyl without interruption. I bought a countless number of new CD's here...and the owner was always happy to order up new or rare copies of discs from bands I liked such as probot, sigur ros, athlete, distillers, old queens of the stone age, kaito and vendetta red...to name a few.... Prices were always reasonable and I even got some free CD's and samplers along with killer deals on vinyl. Also got your standard T-shirts, posters and rock n roll stickers and memorabilia for your consumer pleasure! Check it out!
