We spent a little over an hour exploring all the different sections. It's a huge store. At front you can see new releases, foreign films, and award movies. Further in there is a whole kids section filled with nostalgic movies. They had a tv show section, films divided by actor/actress starring in them, along with genres like drama, comedy, horror, and more. I love the amount of memorabilia in the space! It was such an inspirational spot to go too. There are so many movies I want to watch now. Everything felt reasonably priced. I also loved the way the store was organized. While we didn't interact with anyone who worked there, overhearing their convos, they seemed so passionate about movie. If I needed anything, I'm sure they would've been super kind and helpful. I loved Movie Madness. This was one of my favorite stops in Portland.

FRAUD ALERT with this business: 2 years ago my husband and I took a little trip to Ocean Shores…read more We rented a room, then it started to rain. We drove down the street to Box Office Video. Rented a movie, returned it the next day, then headed home. 2 months later, my credit card was charged for $72. I called Box Office Video and talked with the owner and asked him to look for the movie I returned. He found the movie I rented and my account said "returned". However, he couldn't tell me why my card was charged $72. He said he would refund it by the end of the day. I checked my account 3 days later and didn't find a refund. Called again. Same conversation. We had this same conversation 5 times over the course of 3 weeks. Then I told him, if it wasn't refunded, I was going to call the State Attorney General's office to file a fraud claim. He said he understood and promised me his accountant would take care of it. He never refunded the charges. I filed a claim with the state, and a copy of the claim was sent to him. Also, filed fraud with my credit card. DO NOT USE THIS "BUSINESS". I'm sure I wasn't the first person.

This place is loaded with musical instruments, they sell CD's and other physical forms of music that have long stopped seeing new prints in a broad way. For movies they have DVD's, VHS and probably any other form of physical media I am not mentioning for movies. On top of that this place is kind of an incense heaven. The selection is huge and there were at least five different spots I found in the store where they had incense sticks. I bought quite a bit and was pleased with finding so many scents I don't normally come across. The atmosphere is quirky to say the least. Not only is their windblowing instruments everywhere, it's loaded with plants and other decor that definitely gives this place a unique signature. And of course the fact that a real parrot was here only enhanced that. And of course we had to swing by and say "hi" to the bird.
