Rather than simply selling me a more expensive system, he refused to recommend or install equipment that wasn't the right fit for my home--even though another company's advisor had suggested it and it would have resulted in a larger sale for him. Kirk was FANTASTIC! Our unit is 20 years old, we have never really had regular maintenance on it. He showed up super early (they asked if that was okay, and YES thank you). Before he arrived they sent a text with his name and photo. I absolutely love this! That extra safety is so important. Kirk looked at our unit and asked some questions. He explained all they do with the "family plan" so we signed up. I am one of those that needs to be reminded of scheduled upkeep so this is perfect. He gave us the estimate before he started and I asked for a very rough estimate of a new unit (having no idea) so we decided to go with repair and hope for the best. The repair wasn't cheap but considering all the work that needed to be done as well as it being an older unit, I feel it was a very fair price. I think we did have the best with Kirk. He was able to repair our unit and give it some much needed TLC for our AC unit and furnace. He even installed our pre-purchased thermostat! Kirk was polite and considerate. He took time to answer all of our questions and ensured us that we could reach out with any questions, I believe him. Service people can often be rushed, there is a lot of work out there, but not Kirk. He didn't waste time either, I felt like he was in and out in no time at all. By the time he left we understood all that was done and what we need to do to get some additional service from our current unit. I could not be happier with the call I made this morning. I picked the right people to call!

Someone was scheduled to come out two days later. However, at the end of the call I was informed that Veteran Air was no longer in business and had been acquired by Dial One. I thought it was a bit odd that they waited to long to tell me considering I told them I was referred by a prior customer. Anyway, two guys showed up on the early end of the window and did their thing. I was told I would have a quote by end of day and they would follow up with me to go over the quote and answer questions. Five days later, I haven't heard a word. Weird way to conduct business. If they didn't want the job, they could have told me when they were on site.

I dropped my truck off on Saturday, March 14th at 9:00 AM. Around 2:30 PM, I received a call that the four tires I requested to have replaced was ready for pick up. After paying $1,061.57 for the tires and labor, I drove off the lot only for my truck to begin violently shaking, forcing me to pull over immediately. I contacted my husband, who came to assist, but the truck was undrivable. I returned to Stress Free Auto Care and explained the situation. At that point, my husband was already waiting for a tow truck. Instead of addressing the issue, we were told they were closing and would not inspect the vehicle until Monday. I could hear the mechanic complaining that he was tired and didn't want to wait around when the manager went to speak to him. I specifically asked if anyone actually drove my truck to test it and was told no they did not road test it. Obviously. Due to the poor customer service and urgency of the situation, we had the truck towed to Toyota of Orange. After inspection, we were informed that the lug nuts had been grossly over-tightened, three were broken and one was missing entirely. This was not a minor mistake; it caused significant damage to the wheel components and created a serious safety hazard. Proper torque is a basic standard that any competent shop should follow, yet it was clearly ignored. No one from Stress Free Auto Care contacted us at any point the following week. After Toyota kept the truck for a week and a half, we were left with a repair bill of $3,332.03. My husband sent a certified letter to Stress Free Auto Care, including documentation of the damages and requesting reimbursement. The manager eventually responded, offering to reimburse only the cost of the tires without acknowledging the additional damages or expenses incurred. As a result, we have filed a lawsuit to recover our losses. I strongly caution anyone to use Stress Free and to choose a business that values safety, accountability, and professional standards.

Retired tech inspected their original work and discovered they had installed the fan backwards--causing the system to overheat--and used a capacitor not meant for fan that was installed by accurate...Once he fixed their botched work, system is still working in 2026. Also, and what lead me to this post is they tried to persuade me into buying a brand-new unit by falsely claiming mine would fail within a year. Retired tech confirmed my actual unit is in good order and has many years of life left. Shoddy service and dishonest sales tactics...if I trusted this company, I would have paid $10-15K for a new unit last year, but only paid $200 for another tech to do the job right and who provided honesty with it...get second opinions, always!

I had a bit of a touchy situation where a rodent got into my AC condenser outside and I had no clue how to manage it. I use Thumbtack to find a couple of contractors, and the first company came out and quoted me over $3K to clean my condenser and cleanup my air ducts, and tried to scare me into a $10K revamp of the entire system in my attic saying that the air quality was harmful to our health. I was a bit weary and decided to get a second opinion... Sydney contacted me from One Season, and assured me that they would be able to take a look and take care of the situation. She was extremely kind and understanding given my concerns. Aubrey was my technician and as I mentioned above, was just amazing. Helped me with disposal of the critter, cleaned out my entire AC condenser and told me he would include it with diagnostic fee, which technically he didn't have to do since the system was still working, so he applied that fee to the clean up. He still took everything apart and did an inspection and checked everything out for me to make sure it was running properly. Was very informative and educational and told me signs to watch out for as my system is approaching 20 years old. Did a full inspection of my attic system and did point out some things that I might want to take a look at in the future, but never once tried to push a sale, install, or upsell anything. As is normal with any maintenance company, he did introduce their maintenance plan to me which I welcomed since I know my system is aging. And upon signing up for the annual maintenance plan, he actually waived my diagnostic fee... so he didn't even charge me for my service call! I mean my mind was just BLOWN! Rodent gone... Check! AC condenser clean... Check! AC in good working order... Check! Things to watch for... Check! Peace of mind... CHECK!! I went from a $3000 scare tactic quote saying the air quality in my home being harmful to my family's health to an honest assessment of my home's system, and what I could expect in the next few years given the age of the system. I feel so much better now, and can also prepare myself! Thank you, Aubrey and One Season, so much for the amazing service and the integrity and honesty that you brought to this job. I am so very grateful to have found you. You've got a lifelong customer in me!! 100/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I was given a time frame of 8-10am but told that they tend to be on the earlier side of the window. John arrived exactly at 8am! * John was friendly, and explained things well (and without being patronizing). He showed me various options and explained the pros/cons of each. I didn't feel pressured to choose a certain option, and I didn't feel like he was trying to up-sell me at all. He really helped me make the right choice for our home. * The cost was a little bit less than the other estimate I had received, and was more inclusive. * The quote was sent with three different options, plus optional add-ons, with the price broken out, and everything included clearly listed. It was also a signable contract where we could simply check off what we wanted. This made the process much quicker and easier than it otherwise would have been. Within hours of receiving the contract, we had our installation date set for less than a week later. * What might have blown my mind the most was after signing the contract, John said he might have a portable AC we could use in the meantime. I guess sometimes they have those available, sometimes not. It wasn't something we talked about so this was a very happy surprise, and a great example of going above & beyond! He came the next day to install it, and showed me how I could re-install it myself if I wanted to move it at some point. * The day of installation, Chris and his team were on time again, at the very beginning of the window provided. It was a 2-day project since we replaced the AC, furnace, and duct work throughout the house. They were quick, surprisingly quiet, and clean! I was able to work like it was a completely normal day. When they said they were done, I was shocked to see that everything was already cleaned up- you'd never know anyone was there! * In addition to replacing everything, they redid the inside of the closet where the AC filter, furnace, etc. lived. It's so much cleaner-looking and will be easy to keep clean. It looks like the entire inside of the closet was replaced- even the thing it was sitting on was replaced. * A year of maintenance (2 visits) are included at no additional cost, which I appreciate. TL;DR: Honest company, genuine service, top notch craftsmanship, competitive pricing, highly decorated company from clients & vendors (i.e. Lennox) Background: Initially called out 1st Choice to service a frankenstein a/c system I inherited from the previous home owner. Every service call over two seasons was a pleasure; appt reminders, prompt arrival, quick triage by a knowledgeable tech, honest evaluation & service recommendations, and reasonable price. Out with the old: Fast forward to 2023, system not cooling and it was becoming evident that I had sunk enough money trying to push out the ultimate demise of the frankenstein HVAC system. James and Chris provided me a few options of repair vs new install (single, variable stage, etc). James and John came back out to field some of my questions and discuss pro/cons to each option. They were genuinely honest with no pushy sales pitches. Note, I did do my due diligence and had five other companies bid on the project. One thing stood out to me with those other companies; when talking to them it felt like there was a big disconnect between the sales guy I was meeting with and their install teams. It felt like once I signed the contract the sales guy would be gone with the wind in contrast to 1st Choice they assured me they would be there every step of the install. In with the new: Eric, Jesus, Melvin & Mason were the technicians assigned for my install. Prompt arrival everyday of the job and ending the day cleaning up to make sure to leave my home in better condition than when they came. These guys are true all-stars of the trade: top notch craftsmanship, honest, hardworking, client friendly. Any item I had an issue with, they would address it immediately. Eric the lead kept me informed throughout the install and ran through different options for certain things like system placement. This team works like a well tuned machine as they had to coordinate their work around my plumber doing a hot water tank replacement right next to the HVAC equipment. And as discussed, James and John stopped by everyday to ensure the install was going as we had discussed. During the HVAC install, technician Mason had noticed a gas smell and alerted me to it and advised I should call the utility to check on the meter. Thankful for Mason's awareness as my meter was leaking gas. This demonstrates the level of service from 1st Choice.
