The entire "kiddie park" as it was once referref to as, received a full tearout from back to front. Speaking with a project manager last year, the park was lacking proper drainage and the area needed to be surfaced. As I walk by and peer inside, the fruits of another NYC Parks Dept projects labor are now being enjoyed by residents near and far.

There is always something to do year round. In the winter months, most people decide to venture to the aquatic center/skate rink or the Al Oeter Rec center. There is also a museum inside this park that showcases Queens art. Whether it's for a morning stroll or a picnic, this park has the space for anyone and everyone.

Good amount of swings , slides and other fun equipment for the little ones to have fun on and no dogs allowed so I won't step on poop when I push my Godson on the swings . Basketball courts and theater like seating is unique for a kids playground and it's spacious so even when it's filled with people , you won't feel crowded.Good neighborhood playground in corona that the parents can bring the little ones to have some fun .4 stars on my yelp meter.

This park has been a favorite of my kids since they were toddlers. It's completely fenced in and…read morethats great because the Conduit runs along side it and the traffic is pretty heavy. A bit noisy and since its neighboring JFK airport there's the added airplane noises. Kids don't seem to mind or care for that matter. During hot months it's a heat buster heaven with the giant frog sprinklers blasting. Most areas are shaded by trees and wind is always blowing here. Lots of benches around and some tables with chairs. Basketball court and handball courts are at one end. Major downside here however is that there's no bathroom. The location serves as more like a backyard playground to many of the homes that are across the street . Still not a good excuse to not have a bathroom. There's no direct parking spots right outside the park either. Its the kind of location that you would probably drive by and then wonder how to get into the park but by that time you've already passed it. So the tip is to drive down Lefferts Blvd a block or 2 and find parking on one of the side streets to the left or right . Then walk back to the park. (Be careful crossing- it's the Conduit after all,but there is a crosswalk) If you're ever flight delayed this is a good park to come with little ones to kill time and burn off some energy. Its a quick walk over from the Long Term Parking area at JFK. You'll see lots of airline workers who live close by walking to work.

The park has a nice shaded area and a decent amount of threes that makes for some real nice scenery. This park is good for after school, or just chilling out on the benches enjoying some music. I go through this park on a regular basis it is about less than a block away from the jfk airport .and the jfk airtrain is right there also .and if you are interested in long term parking it is also there. I will definitely go back there in the future

I admit the parking lot, in the midst of the city noise and overflowing rubbish bins, made me a tad hesitant to get out of the car at first, but it gradually dawned on me how the character of the park changed as we walked further away from parking and into the trails lined with mature tall trees. I love nature and appreciate green spaces, so parks like this usually hold a special place. I hope they continue to maintain the park and I hope many more people will cherish its presence.

The park is situated on the eastern shore of the Hell Gate, a strait of the East River, between Ditmars Boulevard to the north and Hoyt Avenue to the south. The Robert F. Kennedy (Triborough) and Hell Gate Bridges. It was just a beautiful scene seeing the water and the two bridges. It was very peaceful.

The park stretches for almost 3 miles from Main St to Frances Lewis Blvd with its widest part between its namesake Kissena Blvd and 164th St to its narrowest part at Utopia Pkwy. Most of the park is accessible, but there are some wild parts with dense foliage, fallen trees and marshland, better suited for wildlife. The park also encompasses the Kissena Park Golf Course, which is fenced off. If you want to hike the entire length of the park, you can hike along the northern perimeter of the golf course. The golf course is public with greens fees around $30. You'll see golfers there in all types of weather except when it's snow covered. The course entrance is on Booth Memorial, east of 164th St. There are many playgrounds sprinkled along the whole stretch with jungle gyms, monkey bars & slides, along with tennis, basketball & handball courts and softball, baseball & cricket fields. You can generally play sports in the fields if nobody is there, but if you're an organized team, it's best to get a scheduled permit from NYC Parks & Recreation. Also hidden inside the park are many memorials along paved and unpaved walking trails and a surprise velodrome and a lake with plenty of waterfowl.

Nice large playground with basketball court , handball court area , playground set up for the kiddies, and metal bars to do pullups , pushups , situps and whatever ups you want to do . Live music events during the weekend and the NYC parks dept which runs the joint has all the info online . The handball gals are going to play some volleyball now , see you later alligator. 4.5 stars for Gorman playground in queens , nice neighborhood community spot for the locals and visitors like cuz and I.

It's one of the best parks in the area…read more The only problem that I have (a recent issue) is there's a lot of adults, and teenagers smoking in the park, drinking, and urinating publicly. There are restrooms available there. A lot of this occurs at night though. The park has a huge playground, basketball court, and 2 handball courts.
