I love Brookville. I have trained here and attended alot of barbecues. 1 of my favorite parks on the Queens/ Long Island border. Well equipped with picnic area benches and ample space and a scenic landscape. Ideal for photo shoots. I love to work out here the path stretches far and wide and the scenery with the duck pond, bridges and small ponds is breath taking. Great park for all outdoor activities. The basketball courts are clean and the fitness area is as well. The police patrol this park after dark and it is very safe. The Riff Raff stays clear of here. I feel more than comfortable taking my toddler to play here. If you're hosting an outdoor event like a field day, group fitness training or BBQ this is an ideal location. They keep the park very manicured and that scores stars with me.

Actually a very nice park. I think it's underrated because it's so close to JFK that most people drive near it but never to it.

Running a full loop around the asphalt path is 1.35 miles. Just after sunrise is the best time for a run.

Lovely park. Being a Five Towns resident all of my life, the park used to consist of only a…read morebasketball/handball court, a baseball field with a dugout and grass. That's it. Over the last 25 years, it has been improved upon immensely, becoming the focal point of Cedarhurst. Lots of things for kids of all ages to participate in. 1. The bathrooms are new, handicapped accessible and clean (see comments below*) 2. Handicapped accessible things for young children to participate in. 3. Nice amount of seating for all. 4. Parking is metered, but generally available. 5. Open spaces HOWEVER, I HAVE SOME GRIPES: 1. DOGS. NO dogs in the park! Why do locals have to walk their dogs in the park, even if they are leashed? It's disgusting! 2. PIGS. Parents and housekeepers are pigs. They drop stuff all over the floor or the kids do - and the responsible parties do not clean up after themselves or their charges. Lots of refuse cans available - USE THEM! Don't teach these little ones such bad manners! 3. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS - from a local school, use the field for their gym class during the day. They play soccer or tag football. Nice to see them enjoying themselves, but it is a public park and their school property isn't. That's my short list. If the gripes were taken care of, this review would be 5 STARS.

I came here once with a person I thought was going to turn into a friend, and then I took my husband here when we first started seeing each other. After we hung out here a few times gazebos became a romantic and fond memory for us. Sometimes they perform concerts in the gazebo as well. This park is a lovely and large chunk of land, it provides a nice mini escape from the ordinary and mundane. Worth the visit if you are in this area.
