Nestled deep within East Rockaway, Bay Park - Hewlett Harbor, Lynbrook area. It has a small playground, pool and beachy areas. Not too big, but not to small, just right for a peaceful walk on a sun shining kind of day. It's just before the season really opens, so still quiet enough to take it all in. In past summers I know this location to host Town of Hempstead Music in the park evening event(s). Its an easy beautiful sandy area where you park your beach chair and listen to the mellow sound of the ocean waves behind you as the musical sounds of joy face and embrace you. :) Can't wait till the season really starts and I can enjoy a local park like this even more. Maybe I even bring my kayak down and ask to push myself off from their shore. :)

Lifeguards at the pool were on POINT. they were great. Pool got a little busy but nowhere near as busy as other TOH pools, which we loved! And the beach part had TONS of room. I'm going to go back alone just to lay out and tan because it's so pleasantly quiet !! We are hewlett residents so we paid $5.50 (kiddos under 10 were $2.75!) it might be slightly more for TOH residents who live outside of east rock or Hewlett, but not by much. If you're not a TOH resident make sure you go with someone who is otherwise the cost is $30. No rafts allowed in the pool area (even floaties) but the pool only goes up to about 6 feet. We had a couple non-swimmer kids with us and they had a blast in the low end. There's also a really cute kiddie pool/splash pad area for the younger ones! I can't believe I didn't know about this gem sooner! It was wonderful. Small, easy parking, easy to get around. There is apparently food on-site but I don't think it was open when we were there so we just headed to Lazy Lobster for fish and chips after our day at the beachpool (the term I coined for this amazing spot!) They had a very large commercial sized fridge/ freezing for your food. All tables were out but if you needed more they were very accessible. We paid in full in advance, we chose to pay for everyone's parking which we paid for at the end. Very easy. The girls loved riding the carousel a million times! Only draw back it's there is no AC abs barely breathable fans. Very hot. Would do it again :)

Often times, I meet my friends, if they can't make it I feel safe walking alone. Safety officers are visible and Nassau County PD conduct tours. The bike lane and lane for walkers are respected by both. The restroom are clean. There is two kiddy parks and BBQ area. The park is a good way to clear my mind and get mine steps in. The tree lines paths are beautiful during the change of season.

It's pretty because the picnic areas are largely under a canopy of old growth trees and there is a very mild and modest nature trail which traverses the front of the park to the rear entrance. Satisfying tiny stream feature on one of the two trails through the park. Possibly Valley Stream where the park is located.

The birds and ducks are always cute so that is one plus. There is supposed to be a walking trail, but I tried walking it a couple of times to find it quite short and not much of a trail. And if you sit at the benches near the parking lot, chances you'll catch second hand cigarette smoke from the old guys who sit in their cars all day most days.

I work near the park and since Covid hit I've been attending nightly AA meetings here with my dad until more in person meetings open up. I've also bought my son here to play. The park has many options, a small nature trail and lake to walk on. I've found my first and only geocache so far here. Two playground sessions, a basketball and handball court. For my first visit during my lunch break today because I'm going later for a meeting I went into the office to drop off letters to Santa that my son and my nephew wrote. There's an ice skating rink as well. It's a pretty decent sized park. If you want a park with many options this is one to check out.

I don't use them but there are plenty of sporting areas to use. Tennis, soccer, baseball and I believe there are even indoor basketball courts. There's a playground for the kids as well as an area to BBQ with tables and benches as well as grills already there. There's also a lake here and a trail that goes not quite around the lake or the park but it's a decent trail. I always see folks fishing here as well.

Grew up coming to this park to play basketball straight after highschool sometimes with friends…read more There's not much change with the basketball courts since then and a lot of the paint has worn off but people still frequent it. It seems the rest of the park's activities have been upgraded though, such as the kids' apparatus, new and fresh pickleball courts, clean tennis courts and such. The structure of the park is organized and great for the large space. On hot days, there's plenty of shade with trees. The public pool here is large and fun! There is bugs often just as fyi and you need to look online to make sure it's open. There's so much to do here with the different activities!!! Cant wait to see more improvements!!
