The sound was good and there were two jumbo projectors that ensured the whole crowd can see what's going on. The park was very clean and orderly. Going through security was a breeze and no headaches. We were able to bring our own chairs and small cooler for water and drinks. It was crowded but the energy was amazing and respectful. I came for the last installment but I will definitely be back to this park if there is more to come.

The other 8 courts are blocked off and inaccessible due to having grass gown over the hard courts. That was disappointing as I was hoping for less crowd. Right next across from there you have a decent size hand ball court. But one of my favorite attraction is the the running track. There running track is really nice ,the turf is perfect for running, jogging or just walking. If like Iike sitting down and relaxing, you have some benches with a decent amount of shade from the trees. And last but not least liberty pool that is attached to the park .one of the best swimming pools in queens ,hands down.

I absolutely love the location and the fact that the picnic area is close as well as the rest rooms. Parking is ample and there is so much to enjoy with the beach just a few feet away. Plenty of ample parking and located just off Seagirt Blvd. I still travel all the way from Long Island to enjoy this part of the beach when I don't want my daughter to get messy in the sand. The bathroom and the park itself is very well maintained for a New York City public park. It's my favorite place to spend time during summer months. The shaded area near the picnic area is so peaceful and comfortably cool. My daughter loves coming here to spend the day. A parent's paradise ! Safe, well maintained and lots to do for free !

Not by pretty fences, there are few pretty fences but by the construction KEEP OUT kind. The tall stone seating area with the little hiding spots were cool as a kid playing ringalevio. I also torched some thrown away Christmas trees there too. Probably not a good idea but I was a troubled youth and butane was super cheap. When the fences came down, a new more modern park appeared, it was wide open and there were new benches and a water fountain. The elderly but spunky old gentleman that lived in the big house across the street, just northwest used to drag his garden hose across the street a few times a week, his name was Ian. I didn't know that, I just knew him as the man with the hose that was on a mission. A mission of beautification and conservation and today his hard work is memorialized by the renaming and a sign that bears his name too.

Often, this playground is empty which can be great for parents who are a bit anxious with having too many children around. Mostly clean with the exception of a homeless person or 2 who uses the bathroom to bathe themselves (saw it myself 1st hand). Parking is bad though and with the high flow of traffic, it can be of concern if you park further down and need to cross the street. In any case this is a nice gem which also has rubber floors on the playground itself. Def great place to bring your kids. It does lack swings sadly.
