(With music) I'd have to say the park starts getting busy around the Afternoon depends on the weather. Around night time it's a nice peaceful run(don't walk slow and take your precious time) I couldn't really say if it's dangerous to be honest because whenever I run at night time nothing really happens. But I always look around and behind me just for safety.

Cons: There is no official parking lot. There are about 12 spots on the side near 147th St. and street parking on Brookville. The park much like most of the adjacent areas can present some safety issue. It's not well lit at dusk and there are some secluded areas. While I've never had any unpleasant encounters. I remain vigilant at all times. Err on the side of caution always. I keep my AirPods on transparent so that while I'm listening to music, I am aware at all times and I keep a pepper spray ( I know it's illegal ) on me whenever I'm there. I'd rather get a ticket for having the spray than be vulnerable. I also circle back to my car in between miles. Most importantly, I use the park during popular hours to make sure there are plenty people around.

A bit noisy and since its neighboring JFK airport there's the added airplane noises. Kids don't seem to mind or care for that matter. During hot months it's a heat buster heaven with the giant frog sprinklers blasting. Most areas are shaded by trees and wind is always blowing here. Lots of benches around and some tables with chairs. Basketball court and handball courts are at one end. Major downside here however is that there's no bathroom. The location serves as more like a backyard playground to many of the homes that are across the street . Still not a good excuse to not have a bathroom. There's no direct parking spots right outside the park either. Its the kind of location that you would probably drive by and then wonder how to get into the park but by that time you've already passed it. So the tip is to drive down Lefferts Blvd a block or 2 and find parking on one of the side streets to the left or right . Then walk back to the park. (Be careful crossing- it's the Conduit after all,but there is a crosswalk) If you're ever flight delayed this is a good park to come with little ones to kill time and burn off some energy. Its a quick walk over from the Long Term Parking area at JFK. You'll see lots of airline workers who live close by walking to work.

On August 15, 2026, I attended the Kings of Kings Foundation's family event at Baisley Pond Park Extension. The event itself was wonderful, but the condition of the Parks Department bathroom was SHAMEFUL. The bathroom lights were completely out. You practically needed a flashlight just to see inside! The bathroom smelled strongly of urine and feces, it was not properly cleaned, and two stalls had no toilet paper. What bothered me most was seeing little girls and other children having to use these nasty bathrooms during a family event. Families should not have to choose between using an unsanitary restroom or trying to hold it for hours. Where was the Parks Department employee responsible for maintaining these facilities? I didn't see anyone maintaining or checking that bathroom. No one was in sight. If these bathrooms were opened that morning for public use, someone should have been responsible for making sure the lights worked, stalls were cleaned, toilet paper was stocked, and the facilities remained sanitary throughout the day. Last year's event was NOT like this, which makes this year's conditions even more disappointing. I'm not asking for a luxury restroom. I'm asking for the basics: working lights, toilet paper, cleanliness and regular maintenance. The NYC Parks Department needs to investigate what happened and hold the appropriate staff accountable. If an employee was assigned to maintain these bathrooms and failed to do so, management needs to address it. MIXED BAG THIS VERDICT: BRUTAL Community Event: AMAZING Bathroom Cleanliness: Maintenance: Working Lights: Parks Staff Presence: Our children, families and community deserve clean, safe and functional public facilities. Came here first time for a free fishing clinic organized by NY Dept of Environmental Conservation…read more Baisley pond is located in the park. Easy parking. Parking lot holds about 20-30 cars. A high school is across the street. Fish species include carp, bass, bluegill etc. my kids got all bluegills. I saw another person got a small bass. Catch and release only. We also saw turtles, dragonflies, seagulls and ducks. It was relaxing to fish while admiring the scenery. One star off is because of overgrown of vegetation ( seaweeds). Our fish line got caught quite often. While it is nobody's fault and it is nature afterall, it takes away a small part of fishing experience.

This is a great place to go for a walk (and lots of pet owners come here as well), go for a bike ride or even a run! There are different lanes for biking and running/walking which are convenient. I love that it's by the water. I've seen folks come and BBQ here on the weekends and set up recreational sports on the grass! It's a great place to hang out and feels like a mostly low key space (though weekends can definitely be more crowded). I love coming through here for a run and it's nice for walks as well. All of this due to the eminent domain approach to the removal of dog owners and our pups from the grassy field we've been congregating and socializing at for years. This radical decision left many of us, the non drivers mainly, without a open space to run our dogs, share a laugh, catching up with those whose company we look forward to being among. All to build and preserve a wack tee ball field for little kids that a year and a half later -- the munchkins have yet to materialize. But the slow arm of the parks department finally began construction on a cleverly designed new dog park, albeit too small being thin in width and short in length. The project looks to be about single digit completed after almost two years which burns my butt a bit, as private industry would have wrapped this up in weeks but as with much of my life -- a grin and bare (bear) it, smile and wave approach and reluctantly accepting this tired, old and dirty cities inability to do anything on time and on budget.
