I've lived in Queens a long time and I've never been to this park. I want to say this used to be called Highland Park but I'm not positive. It's not a big park but I like it here. There is a decent sized pond and there is a path that goes around it and the park for the walkers which there are quite a few during the busy hours. There's also a playground on one end and there is a decent sized green space on the other side of the park. Most of the times I was there, there have been some guys playing cricket or soccer on that part of the park. There are also bathrooms here which look pretty new as well. If I lived in the area I would probably be here alot more.

You could barely see the turtle from how dirty the water is i feel bad for them.

This park is nice. My son and my niece had an awesome day at this park they loved the pond with the ducks and turtles. The only thing is that the pond looks a little dirty i feel bad for the living animals in the pond. But its good for to walk around its not that big but its beautiful with all the trees and the pond.

    Turtles!!! TMNT

Could be cleaner, but it's the part of queens that is the problem. I took my mom here for a restful day away from the nursing home and was pleased to find quiet benches along a pond that had geese and turtles and many other forms of animal life that makes captain tilly's park home. There were baby geese and ducks everywhere and turtles basking in the sun ..

It's not a big park but it feels like it's one for the locals, and I'm pretty sure it serves them well.

I took…read morethe Cunningham Loop via the AllTrails app, and it was exactly what I needed--manageable, scenic, and well-marked. The trail itself is a mix of dirt paths and paved sections, with enough tree cover to make it comfortable even on a warmer day. The loop isn't overly strenuous, but it gives you a good walk--perfect for clearing your head or getting in some low-impact cardio. I appreciated how clean and well-maintained everything was, and it felt safe, even solo. You'll pass a mix of joggers, dog walkers, and families, but it never felt crowded. There aren't many elevation changes, so don't expect a hike, but for a refreshing, straightforward walk with nature and fresh air, this loop is a win.

There are no sharp inclines or steep, rocky hills. I like to walk these trails to admire nature and all it's worth. The lake that I came across while walking today made me want to jump in and swim(not sure if that's allowed). Thumbs up to their Environmental Center which is very helpful in providing educational programs. I like the availability of car parking and multiple entrances, though some trails are better than others. The best part that I enjoy in this park is it marks the start/end of the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway trail path, it is historic, a scenic trail for walking, running, and biking, a beautiful, green space that offers a break from the city, and the paved path connects it to other parks. The trail path extends about 3 miles which makes it a 6 miles trekking distance out and back. In most weekend mornings, there is a great chance that you might see me walking/biking on this trail, so, see you there.
