Terrible experience after nearly a decade as a patient. I've been a loyal patient at Jupiter Dental Group for over 8 years and have spent thousands on dental work including crowns and bridges. Unfortunately, the quality of care and customer service has declined drastically. A bridge placed in 2019 failed and fell out, and instead of taking responsibility, the office manager blamed me and demanded $2,000 upfront for a replacement -- contradicting their own written policy stating only 50% is due up front. When I confronted them with the signed paperwork, they backtracked, calling it a "mistake." Appointments were canceled four times for a permanent crown after my temporary was placed in July. The office staff -- especially Renata -- were unprofessional, dismissive, and dishonest. I've now requested my records and am seeking a second opinion. Depending on that outcome, I will consider legal options. I caution others to avoid this practice -- especially if you expect accountability or long-term care. read more

Stay away from this practice! Money grab. You're told they accept your insurance then charge you $400 for a cleaning. You pay the charges upon leaving. And then receive another bill for $208! Over $600 for a cleaning that my insurance covers. read more

My cardiologist thought I was joking with them. However their oral surgeon refused to extract my teeth and dr salhI forced me to go back to my old dentist for my extractions which wasn't covered under my insurance like it was at Jupiter dental. However my old dentist Dr Schmitt with seaglass dental thought since after radiation starts I won't be able to have any extractions he recommended to pull all my top teeth and let Dr salehi do the bottom filling Which I got approved by Renata the office manger that Dr salehi could conundrum my care with the bottom teeth that was covered with my insurance. Well against I was told they were cancelling my spot and Dr SALEHI FEELS I NEED TO FIND ANOTHER DENTIST IR STICK WITH DR SCHMITT Which I never would have gone to unless they HADNT refused to extract my teeth. there's no reason I couldn't see both providers. I had an emergency dental problem while in Jupiter,Fl. Went to Jupiter Dental Group on Toney Penna Dr. From the moment I walked in I was warmly welcomed by Dr. Shiva and her group, they showed compassion, care and knowledge of their practice. Although I have always, since childhood had a great fear going to the dentist, Dr. Salehi and her staff over the couple of months seeing them were all very caring and patient and I received the best care from each of them. Not only is Dr. Salehi a great dentist but also an artist in the design of my new denture. I have been there a few time after moving from Miami. I have had cleaning, filling and now bone grafting to prepare for 3 implants. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and inviting. I went in today for Xrays and a cleaning. I had a 10:00am appointment. This was written on my card from the previous visit and verified by text where I confirmed back to them that I would be there for my appointment. I sat in the waiting lobby for 30 minutes. I asked the receptionist if there was something wrong. She said that my appointment was at 11:00. I said to her how could that be, the text on my phone shows 10:00. "Well we're just trying to squeeze you in for Xrays, (insert attitude here) your appointment is 11:00." So I wait. 11:00 comes and goes. No one comes out to the waiting room. The reception is vacant from her desk. The place becomes a ghost town. 11:15 comes and that's when I decided to walk out the door. Shortly after that I get a call from the receptionist with the lamest apology. Almost shaming me for leaving. I can't recommend this practice. Do yourself a favor and find another dentist! read more

Patient Beware: After leaving the dentist appt. we had to wait 1 week and 3 phone calls to remind them to call the order in for the antibiotics for an abscessed tooth, they then walloped us with bills for x-rays in the amount of $421.00 each (4 times). No preapproval. (Just to let you know, x-rays do not cost that much if the dentist even charges) I have never witnessed such "upselling" in all of my life. i have been a patient at this practice for many years. Today I called due to a crown breaking free last night. Elizabeth, at the front desk got me in immediately. Yes, I had to wait a wee bit to be seen ( ok you're dealing with time consuming procedures... it can happen anywhere. I surely don't want my dental care rushed). X-rays, and then Dr. came in. I needed a new crown. She asked me when I could come back in ( they could place the old crown back temporarily) . When I mentioned my crazy schedule, they worked me in TODAY (around other patients).My emergency threw their schedule for a loop, for sure. Did I have to wait at times as they tended to the other patients? Yes, of course, they squeezed me in! I received the best care with nothing but smiles. The Dr. was so sweet and patient! The dental assistant ( I'm so sad I don't know her name) was awesome and absolutely had the best laugh! Despite being at the dentist, I had a great morning! Shout out to my hygienist Victoria who has treated me for years... her Hands were not in my mouth today but she is always a pleasure and extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I was looking for a new dentist and so I called them and made an appointment. My appointment unfortunately was on the day of the "hurricane" so I called to re-book my first appointment with them on a Monday. I showed up a little early for my 4:00 appointment. The woman at the desk was very rude when I asked her when I would be seen (I was waiting for 45 minutes and no one said anything to me)! So, I walked out. Guess what? No one called me, but I did get a test message saying that I recently had an appointment that had been cancelled and asked me if I wanted to reschedule. I texted them back: "Are you even serious? While the dentist did a good job repairing a broken front tooth, the general atmosphere is unprofessional. Loud gossip constantly going on. Difficult to understand interaction. Unfriendly dentist with zero bedside manner or interest in listening to the patient. Rushed and unprepared. Additionally rude ancillary staff. This is the THIRD time I have driven over an hour for an appointment that was cancelled. Every time I arrive I'm told they have been calling and I didn't answer. I receive NO calls from them. I have confirmed my number with them more than once. I don't understand how I receive texts reminding me of my appointment but when I arrive all of a sudden it's cancelled and I haven't been answering. As many have said below, I wish I would've read these reviews before going. Not a safe practice. Although temperature checks were taken at the door many staff members behind the desks were not wearing masks consistently or correctly. Staff in rooms with patients wore masks below their noses and pulled them below their mouths at times at well. Only leaving a review because as a patient I would've wanted to know ahead of time. Please reconsider following proper ADA and CDC guidelines. Additionally, I made an appointment for a routine cleaning and check-up. They took my xrays, slapped me with the bill and sent me on my way. No cleaning was done and I was told that would be ANOTHER appointment I have to make. Again, as said below, it appears they're just trying to max out your insurance. Made an appointment for my husband. Scheduled for 10am. He received a confirmation text of 10am. Then received another confirmation, same time. Then two days before the appointment, he received two confirmation texts for 11am and then 12pm. He called, they told him his cleaning appointment was at 11am, with a follow up after at 12pm. Avoid this place - they just see you as a walking insurance account that they can tap for lots of fast cash.... In a nutshell - they will tell you need a deep cleaning, and will not perform regular cleanings or for that matter checkups without this first. This doesn't sound like a big deal, until you see the logistics of a deep cleaning - look it up on Wikipedia....its not a simple process, its a surgery more or less.... The reason they insist on this unneeded and painful procedure is to hit your insurance hard and fast. It is a costly procedure ~ $1,500 (that is largely covered under insurance). If you never go back there after the cleaning, they are still well ahead of the game... How do I know I didn't need a "Deep Cleaning"? -- I looked up online what teeth/gums/mouth usually look like when they needed a deep cleaning - pretty nasty (do this before eating, you wont be hungry afterwards) - also went back to my dentist in Pompano beach who said my teeth were more than fine and such an event is quite traumatic to the teeth and make them weaker.... read more

Staff friendly and helpful, doctor nice, but be prepared to play the waiting game... 10 am first time appointment. 10.10 taken back 10.15 assistant in and we are moving. 10.45 Dr is in. 11.30 left in back room, all alone :( 11.45 finally wonder out to reception where desk lady wants to review my bill. 11.50 told that the cleaning wouldn't happen today because my initial went too long. 11.52 told someone would be right out to take me back for my cleaning. 11.56 now not sure if cleaning can be done. If you value your teeth and or time - Stay Far Far Away! - Wait forever in the waiting area (well over an hour after my scheduled appointment) - Rude Staff - Insist that I need a deep cleaning that I do not need - this is a fairly invasive event where permanent damage to your teeth can occur Story time -- I have been getting my teeth cleaned every year on the dot for the past 10 years. I just moved up here and have to find a new dentist - I chose them since they are close to my office - what a mistake. Appointment was set for 11:00am - I get there at 10:45am so I can fill out paperwork and not hold up their schedule. Not so nice receptionist looked annoyed that I asked for the paperwork as I noticed she was in the middle of a chat on facebook on her phone...Filled an completed paperwork at 10:58am -- wait for my name to be called...finally get called in at 12:08pm! Finally sitting in the dental room, I wait another 30 minutes before someone comes in... They take X-rays, then have to take them again because the first set "was messed up" They tell me my teeth are in real need of a deep cleaning and that they cannot do a regular cleaning on me. So ignorant me agrees to come back in for a deep cleaning. I setup a follow up appointment with the receptionist who acts like shes doing a favor for me by talking to me. Looking up what a deep cleaning consists of online - I see its almost surgery - they have you under anesthetics and the "cleaning" is more like gouging and high likely hood of damaging the teeth during the process.....yikes.... Setup an appointment with my old dentist - checks them out, does another xray just to be sure - teeth are perfectly fine, no deep cleaning needed - he said its only needed if you have a severe issue and/or you have never got your teeth cleaned in well over a decade. He proceeds to clean my teeth and they feel great! I tried to cancel my appointment with Jupiter Dental Group, but no one picked up after 4 calls! I tried calling again a few days later, another rude receptionist,... as soon as I said I'd like to cancel my appointment (after giving my information), I heard a click....I was hung up on!.... Worst experience ever. I wish I would have read these reviews before going. I had a tooth pulled & was told I need to pay for some extras. Come to find out when I see another dentist, I really didn't need it. They said I needed a deeper cleaning not covered under insurance. Every time I went for these 2 day cleanings, I was paying in full. Now I receive a bill for work that was already paid for. I've tried to reach their billing dept for over a week. No one returns my call. I liked the hygienist because she did a thorough job once she arrived (late every time) & stopped arguing with the staff. How is this office still in business? read more

both my teenagers went here for a while. Nothing to complain about the actual dentist but the office staff is terrible. They schedule your appointment and each time we waited at least 50 minutes until seen. But beware, if you are 10 mins late, no matter if you call and tell them you are stuck in a rainstorm, they have to reschedule you for another day. The girls in the office are rude and unprofessional and I highly reccomend to find a different dentist, this experience has been awful. read more

I saw 7 staff members not wearing masks as I waited for my procedure. I asked why they weren't wearing masks and I was told "they just got here" I said you wear it from the car into the building not after you enter. The dental assistant asked, "Why do you care? They are 6 feet away." I explained we were inside in ciruclating AC and I was about to have my mouth WIDE OPEN and didn't feel comfortable and also I have paid you $1000's you can put on a 50 cent mask. I am so disappointed with this office and their Covid-19 practices. If you have had Covid-19, be aware of the office policy that is not mentioned in any of the paperwork you must fill out before your appointment. I was scheduled as a new patient for back-to-back appointments, to see the general dentist first and then the oral surgeon, for consultation about removing all 4 wisdom teeth. I scheduled to be off work for the appointments and came with the paperwork filled out. After my temp was taken, I was given a Covid-19 form to fill out. One question asked if I had ever tested positive to Covid. I answered yes, because I was sick in late June, isolated for 14 days, and made a full recovery. It was then the office manager said I could not come in for an appointment until I was able to bring back a negative test result. I've been well for nearly three months, working full time, and have no temperature! When I spoke to the manager about informing people of this procedure before they come for the appointment, she took no responsibility. Just saying....beware of your wasted time! read more

DONT GO!!! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EVER. I was made to wait over 45 minutes for a scheduled cleaning. The hygenist did apologize but I decided I should speak with the Manager. I calmly explained to her that I did not find this waiting time an acceptable practice and that they need to improve upon this. A few months later I was in for a dental problem and told I had to have a filling replaced with a cap. When I went out to the front desk, the admin, April, proceeded to review my personal medical situation in an extremely loud voice and also the financial obligation, this is totally unprofessional. I asked her to speak in a quieter voice and she continued in the same loud tone, so I left. I sent an email to the Manager recapping the situation. Much to my shock and surprise - I get a response in the mail from this Manager - "we don't want you as a patient anymore - you have 30 days to wrap any current treatment up and go find another dentist". So, rather than treat their patients with professionalism and respect - they are happy to just give you the boot. DONT GO TO THIS DENTIST OFFICE AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW NOT TO GO. Evelyn, Jaylen, the other office Lady and the Dental Assistant were very sweet helpful and compassionate when my 10 year old son went in to have a root canal and was deathly afraid. Thank you so much ladies! Dr. Sunghee Ahn is to say the least not the nicest person in the world. She did not greet my son or myself. She was very rude, explained nothing. Had an attitude and speaks to you as if you are beneath her. She is even belittling to her staff! I had no choice but to let her do the work on my son as I waited for over a month to get this root canal done. in my opinion she chose the wrong profession! The doctor i had was Dr.Patel and he was excellent! My appointment was this morning, we waited 20 minutes. They called me in and i sat in the operating chair, they put the gas mask on me, I'd say i waited for the doctor for 20 minutes while the laughy gas took effect. Dr.Patel walked in with his assistant, he explained everything to me, about the gas, the IV, how i would feel, etc. When i was under the gas i was still fully conscious so i felt the pain of the IV needle but it definitely hurt less than I expected. The actual sedation that would make me fall asleep is the IV so I don't remember much after that. But it wasn't scary at all! It was actually kind of fun, the ride to my house while i was still high on laughy gas was hysterical according to my mom. read more

PROS 1.Ok so the Hygienist and dental assistants are wonderful they are friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. 2.The prices are higher but they take most insurances. Not even sure that this is a pro. CONS 1. Owned by corporations who gives a rats butt about patients or their needs. We are simply a means to make money. 2. They insist on "deep cleanings" that some people may or may not need. (They practically scare you into doing it) 3. Dr. Alvarez is a complete jerk who is just rude to his patients. He practically makes you feel like crap for any issues your having with your teeth. He is rude to your face and speaks Spanish while working on you. I don't mind if you speak Spanish but not while working on patients laughing with your assistant it is just rude. He is an absolute tool and no one likes him not even the employees who I have heard talking about him. Thank god you only see him once in a blue moon because his assistants do 90% of the work. 4. They constantly cancel appointments because the Dr decided to go on vacation, take a day off, or go to the beach! Then when you try to rebook the appointment you have waited 2 months for (that they are canceling) they tell you the next available is 6 weeks away. We go here and so do 3 sets of friends and this has all happened to them several times. 4. They have a automated system that texts you to confirm the appointment. However when you confirm it texts you 2-4 more times to confirm again and again. Then after you have confirmed about 3 times the office calls to reconfirm and by this time your overly annoyed. So I'm sure you're wondering why in gods name we have continued to go to this place basically they take our insurance and the next closest place that takes it is in Delray. So we are in process of changing it! Please save your money, time, frustration, and teeth. Don't go to this rip off of a practice who simple just have way to many cons. read more

New to the area, read the reviews but my insurance (cigna) is only accepted by two practices ( this one was bad but not as bad as sage dental). They tried to pull the same scam with me, a deep cleaning... And they did get upset when I said that I would like just regular cleanings... Their answer was... By law we have to do one but after that we cannot see you until the deep cleaning is done. Just so you all know, I went there for a broken filing!!!! They didn't even spoke to me about it... Joke, I am surprise they still open after this horrible reviews... Do not go there, bad way to "up sale a service to make some money"!!!!!! FACT: I did not need a deep cleaning according to my normal dentist and their hygienist. It was told to me that this is just a way to make money from the patient and the insurance company. The Jupiter Dental or Town Care Dental hygienist on Tony Penna refused to just clean my teeth, but insisted on a deep cleaning per their dentist recommendation. In order to have MY TEETH only cleaned, I had to make another appointment with the dentist for him to change his recommendation. When I called back to discuss this with the office manager she said I was derogatory by my stating facts. She needs to review the meaning in the dictionary. I had cancelled my prior insurance and went with a plan that would provide Town Care Dental and or Jupiter Dental services. The dental company has been collecting insurance money for 4 months now. Great way to make money.... charge services that are not truly needed. The Town Care/Jupiter Dental Office had said I needed $5000.00 worth of work, this is why I went for a 2nd opinion, whom I allowed to fix a couple of areas that the dentist had been correct on.... BUT it only cost $2000.00. Amazing.... I suggest that a patient goes to a dental group that honors what you can afford. Not what they will do for additional income. If you would like to have your teeth cleaned Do not go there !!!! The hygienist , if you can call her that, spend may be 3 minutes poking my daughters teeth until there was blood. Didn't even care to floss. The doctor who came in to examine her teeth was nice, found no cavaties. I wonder if he knows what his staff is like. I paid $95 for the cleaning and $50 for the exam. My time spend there, including cleaning and exam, was 30 minutes. I felt angry for having been ripped off so badly. I had to get her teeth cleaned again!!!! In any event, a couple of days later I saw Jupiter dental group advertisement : cleaning AND exam for $75. The front office of course refused to give me any type of adjustment. This office is a total rip off.. They try to force you into having a deep cleaning that is really not necessary... The front desk staff is great...Patty and Neka were very helpful when I was calling also when I was in the office. The office manager is VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL which can be a very bad image for the office.. Dr.Alvarez and his assistants are awesome.. Worst customer service i have ever had in my life. 9 o'clock appointment today. I got there not a single person in the office door still locked. At 915 they open the doors and have me fill out paper work. After Waiting for 15 more min. they told me we need to reschedule. This is the second time this year i change my travel and work schedule to be at the dentist for them to make me sit and wait before telling me they need to reschedule. Me and my family of 4 are looking for a new dentist today. AMAZING!! I would agree with other reviews that office staff needs to go. read more
