Kaye is the ONLY person I will let touch my hair in the DFW area. I have super thick, straight asian hair and she always knows how I want it cut. She understands the way I like to part my hair and thins it out perfectly so it's never unevenly bulky on one side from the deep part I like to do. Kaye is also the only person that my boyfriend will go to now! I don't know much about male haircuts but I can tell you that she cuts it to the perfect length according to his face shape and she can make his ridiculously thick hair look manageable. With that being said, I'm taking away one star because I HAVE tried to get my hair cut by some of the other stylists in this establishment and the results were just okay. Nothing I was ever unhappy with, but nothing spectacular. I've seen them work wonders for other patrons, though, so to each his own! Came here for a haircut and straight perm but the stylist recommended doing a slight S curl at the bottom as well. I was a little hesitant but she insisted it would look pretty so I agreed and no regrets! The curl came out super natural, The people there are so nice and bubbly! Cut way too much I went their yesterday to get a trim for my dry hair, I specifically told her just cut 1 inch, 1 inch. then she cut 5,6 inches!!!! (I will show before and after) 2.And was uneven, my left side is shorter. and their is long string piece of hair that way longer that other hair. this is so ridiculous!!! (I will show the pic) 3. my friend hates my hair too, they said I have same hair like their aunt and mom. I have always have long hair almost over my butt length, my hair never been this short in my life! I cried so much, but hair is means so much to a girl! this bad hair have ruined me ! Kay is my hair stylist for a long time. To be frank, her skills are above average most times. Her English is also quite easy to understand even though she is Korean. After a few visits, I slowly realized that she is not compliant to the customer's expectations and sometimes decides to do whatever she wanted instead of listening to what I wanted. Sometimes I have to explain to her what I wanted to do, yet she still does the opposite of what I want. This was fine at the beginning, but as this continued, it became clear that she either cannot do what I asked of her, or is unwilling to listen. This last visit I was very disappointed at her attitude and service. After asking her to curl my hair in a certain way, she lashed out and told me that she is a "professional" who knew what she was doing and do not need my instruction to do the "correct" thing. While I don't disagree that she has more experience than I do when it comes to styling hair, I stand by the belief that the customer is always right and that she should not assume that everything she does is both 100% correct and what the customer wanted. This became the last straw, as her unwillingness to communicate with me, as well as her arrogance and her subjective attitudes, have become unbearable. For the fairly expensive price I pay to get my hair cut, I can certainly find another stylist who can do what I want without arguing with me every time. Critical: Professionalism, Quality I was a steady customer for 5 years. Even my hairstylists left that place, I still went there for a different hair stylist. In the beginning I liked the owner's friendly and smiling personality, which made me comfortable. However, I did not like the way she did my hair. She did not do my hair as requested. She did it in her own way. She seldom listened to me. She did in opposite way. One time I asked her to never cut my bang hair above my eye brow. She cut my bang right in the middle of my front hair, which made me look like a dummy. She just smiled. I couldn't say anything to the smiling face. We all make mistakes. I just said to myself my hair will grow back. Next time I wanted layers in my hair. She cut my hair too much and made too short layers , which I never expected. Another time I was having Magic Straight. She asked me which way your front hairline. I requested her to left hair line. She never listened to me. She pulled my hair straight back. Another time I was waiting for my turn, she told her assistant to wash my hair without asking me first whether I want it or not. I did not say anything because it was 30 dollars including hair wash. After hair was all done, she charged me 35 dollar including hair wash. She said the price was no longer 30 dollars but is now $35. She charged 5 dollars extra for hair wash. She said the cost increased to $35 from $30. She should have informed me first of hair cost increase and new policy. I never went back there again. She is really good and always makes time for her customers! All of the staff are very friendly and, most importantly, great at cutting hair (+styling and suggestions). I am always very nervous when getting haircuts because I haven't had very good experiences. I was having anxiety about coming here because I not only wanted to chop off a lot of hair but I also wanted a perm (think beach waves). I know that Koreans are really good at perms so I left the fate of my hair in their hands and I couldn't be happier. They are exactly what I imagined! The only thing that irritated me a little bit was that I made my hair appointment at 11 am and didn't finish until after 2 pm. They had told me it would be two hours but my stylist was working on like three other customers while working on me. It kind of makes the whole point of making an appointment useless. The perm was not cheap at all so it irritated me that my hair didn't receive all the attention I paid and made an appointment for. I was left sitting there and just waiting for the majority of the time. They were super busy so I can kind of understand, but it still didn't sit well with me. But after I was done I was super thrilled about my new do and didn't regret the experience one bit! Definitely recommend this place but maybe pick a slower time (maybe weekdays) to come because they can get pretty packed. read more

Simply love this Korean hair salon. The owner is a wonderful and kind lady and the workers all seem genuinely happy and a great team. It is a very relaxing atmosphere because you can feel that they are happy to be there as opposed to some catty situations between employees that I have seen at other places. Language can be a bit of a barrier but I usually just tell them if I want it shorter or to grow it out and then let them do what they will. It always turns out amazing. If you are more particular about your hair it would probably help to have a picture on your phone or in a magazine to show the hair dressers. My family and I came in for haircuts. Clearly, the other people were only paying around $25 for a haircut for guys and girls. Ruby insisted on washing my mom's hair and my mom agreed thinking it was included. However, when we were paying the hairdresser claimed it wasn't a service despite the fact that other people had not paid for the washing. Clearly, the hairdresser (not the owner) overcharged us. Additionally, the person cutting my hair, refused to do what I asked of her claiming that layers would make me look messy. I came inside for a service expecting things to be done how I want them. How is this a business if you're not listening to your customers? The same person that cut my hair was also doing my perm but unfortunately, she had no idea what she was doing and told us it would only take 2 hours. However, because she kept messing up, it took around 4 hours instead. We paid the ridiculous price for bad service and probably overcharging by the hairdresser. She didn't even give us a receipt when we asked. The owner left before we paid which might have lead to this problem. The family and friends of the hairdresser came in as soon as the owner left and just started hanging around and making comments. The hairdresser also left me to go talk to them. That was clearly unprofessional and contributed to the extra time. This will be the last time I will be going to this salon. Clearly, it's a place where you can't trust the hairdressers to give you the proper price and attention. Honestly, this place is trash and not worth the money. Go somewhere else if you expect to pay properly instead of having the hairdresser cackle at how much money she is making out of you. read more

This is my first time here, I just wanted to make a trim for the perm I did back in May, but I walked out spending $150!!! I mean if you are already weak at English and can't understand me, SPEAK UP or ask me to repeat!!!! Don't pretend you know what I said and just make my hair your way,urgggg!!!!! (Heart ache) I was so upset when I get back home and look at my hair, even my parents said so, so I went back there saying this looks horrible and how I didn't ask for perm in the first place but ended up like this. Kay who speaks better English step up and "save" my hair. Even my hair doesn't look super horrible now, but I DIDN'T EXPECT TO SPEND $150 ON HAIR!!!! The only reason I give 1 star for them is because the owner was willing to refund half of the cost and they were patient throughout the time, but listening to your customer and telling them what you want to do is a BASIC respect.
