My parents had worked with them before and they were great. So when we needed more junk moved out of the garage and furniture moved from our home, they were the first people we called. They gave us a quote and we booked an appointment four days later. Part of what was agreed to was to have furniture moved from upstairs out of the house, and furniture downstairs moved up (since we had new furniture coming in the next day). Well today they came, moved out the junk and the furniture...but then said that they couldn't move the downstairs furniture upstairs even though they told us they could on the phone. My parents didn't like this and told the movers what was promised to them, and their response was to move everything out of the truck and into the driveway. They after some back and forth, they said they'd come tomorrow to move the downstairs furniture upstairs, and they started putting our stuff back in their trucks. However, my parents (my mom specially) didn't feel like paying everything up front as the movers demanded (as they didn't want to pay full price as quoted, and then not have the movers come back tomorrow and thus again renege on this promise), but she agreed to pay half, then 80% of what was owed, then pay the rest when the movers came the next day to move the downstairs furniture upstairs. The movers' response was to load everything off of the truck AGAIN (thus moving everything for a third time), half in our garage and half in the driveway (while it was pouring rain out), and leave. Thus my 71 year old dad who has scoliosis had to move everything that was out into the garage, including incredibly heavy mattresses and couches, while getting drenched with rain. Meanwhile, having the movers simply move the downstairs furniture upstairs like they told us they could when we called them initially would have been a whole lot easier on them instead of moving all of my parents' junk in and out of multiple trucks multiple times. So long story short, if you want a junk hauling company that keeps its promises, I would absolutely NOT recommend Junk King. UPDATE: The company that delivered the new furniture my parents ordered gladly moved their old downstairs furniture upstairs, even though it wasn't even discussed initially. CHEATING CUSTOMERS OUT OF A DAY!!! Told me I had 3 days = 72 hours. Dropped off 6/28 with p/u 6/30. That isn't 3 days/72 hours. 7/1 is 3 days/72 hours. Kevan, Supervisor told me another $49 if I wanted the 3rd day. SCAMMERS is what JUNK KING IS!!! I've no doubt they'll try to charge me for over 2k pounds also.
