Rise Bloomfield was one of the first medical dispensaries I visited in Northern NJ. Naturally, I expected that early presence in the community to come with warmth, product knowledge, and at the very least--basic customer care. Sadly, my recent experience reminded me just how transactional and cold some dispensaries can feel. After spending a considerable amount of money on infused pre-rolls (which, by the way, didn't burn properly--not one of them), I returned to Rise with proof, hoping for a reasonable resolution. I wasn't asking for the world--just a simple store credit or exchange. Instead, I was met with a wall of resistance: three staff members jumping in to shut me down, all repeating the same line--"We don't do that. No dispensary does." It wasn't what they said as much as how they said it. No empathy. No curiosity about the issue. No attempt to make it right. It felt like I was being scolded for speaking up. Rise, I'm not here to bash. I'm here to be honest: * The environment is cold * The staff feels scripted and disengaged * There's little to no product education * And the reward system and pricing don't offer much value Cannabis is supposed to be healing. Compassionate. Rooted in care. If we can't even have a human conversation when something goes wrong, what exactly are we rising to?

I have never had an issue until Wednesday, July 15th. I had a disappointing/experience with the ounce I purchased and the way it was (not) handled. I was sold flower that the Silverleaf website lists as 38.58% total THC: 34.66% THC with THCa bringing total THC 38.66%. What I got was flower labeled 34.66.% total THC. THCa was not listed. I called the dispensary to discuss and ended up speaking to the manager. He started by condescendingly explaining how THCa works not once, but several times. I am well aware of how it works! I finally had to interrupt him from "explaining" it again to tell him my actual complaint. The label on the product DOES NOT include THCa as an ingredient. He then "explained" (made up) how the grower can choose to list or not list THCa as an ingredient at their discretion. I told him this makes no sense! Why would a grower indicate the total THC is lower on the label than it was advertised on purpose?! He offered no explanation for that. When I told him I was very dissatisfied, he offered no apology or compensation for this misrepresentation of the product. He "explained" that he nor Silverleaf apparently has no control or influence to change false advertising. I asked him if he was saying it was not his/Silverleaf's fault (problem) and he could not (would not) do anything about it. He confirmed it with silence. Needlesstosay I am still far from satisfied. BTW - I checked. NJ state law, DOES, in fact, REQUIRE that growers list THCa on the label. It is NOT left to the grower's discretion. Essentially, the manager/owner(?) was just making things up to get rid of me. Extremely unprofessional. Frankly, he sounded bored. Well today they wouldn't admit me as they wouldn't recognize my cannabis New York State ID /license /pass (the only photo ID I had on me) which isn't due to expire until April 2026. I offered to show the ghouls my yearly up to date New York State cannabis certification. that would not do? They wouldn't let me use my cannabis pass as a photo ID. They demanded I show them a New York State drivers license which I don't have or a photo state ID, which I didn't have with me. I have been using this cannabis ID at this location. I'm up the proverbial Schitt Creek. I had to go all the way home now without what i came for. i am needing medication for my pain. I know ny state is trying to get rid of medical Cannabis so they can get all of the money from the recreational cannabis. The recreational dispensaries are everywhere. There are two remaining medical dispensaries in Manhattan. What am I supposed to do now? I will never go back to RISE dispensary. the people that I dealt with today couldn't clarify or make sense of anything that was going on... and I left there feeling like the fool. because I wasn't informed? they've made changes changes that affect my life.
