This place is a Hard Kombucha Brewery. First time trying a place like this and it was really light and refreshing. I can see why this place is popular since the restaurant has a cool vibe with spacious outdoor seating. Their drinks are solid but because they "feel" light, they might get you after a couple. I knew I would rate this place 5 stars before we even got the food, but the food really sealed the deal! We came on a Saturday (late afternoon to evening) and it was not packed, so our small child was able to have her pick of the tables in the outdoor area. She chose the L-shaped cozy furniture, and we occupied that and the adjacent table. They had a basket with blankets in them right by the door, which was a nice touch. Every single drink we had was delicious: lager ("crushable" -my husband), peachy peach (my favorite), strawberry kiwi crush, blood orange mint, and grapefruit splash. They all tasted exactly as described. For food, we ordered grilled cheese, chili smash burger, and both types of fries. My husband is picky about burgers and my daughter is picky about all food, but their chosen foods were a HIT. The service was great, and the ambiance was perfect. I know it's silly but there were so many small details that show the care that went into this place, from the tiles on the bar to the hand painted leaves in the bathrooms. Just come for the booch and tapas. When I say tapas I mean appetizers such as French fries or my fave: sweet potato fries ;) They have food here now for happy hour and the deals are pretty great. We got 3 tacos for $8 which is unheard of these days. We tried the Barbacoa and the pollo al pastor. I'm actually pleased with the barbacoa and the aoli sauce that comes with it was pretty good. The pollo al pastor is not worth your time tho lol I feel like I say this for every review lately, but it needed some salt BAD, like just SOME sort of flavor other than the aoli sauce. 'Twas a very bland taco. Lastly I love the vibe here. There's an outdoor seating area as well as inside with plenty of seating for both. The staff are very friendly and welcoming which is always a plus. They had live music here as well with a musician engineering a song WHILE they were here--super cool. JuneShine has a really fun, boho vibe and offers a great tasting setup! I visited right around opening on a Monday, so it was very quiet and I got to explore the different areas of their setup. The staff were very helpful and eager to explain their setup and operation. It was cool to see all of the flavors offered, and I appreciated that they offer multiple glass sizes for tasting and ordering. Being drawn in by the menu section that was only sold there in store, I tried the chili mango hard kombucha. It had a nice kick from the spice that lingered for a bit after drinking. I came here for the fruity-fresh-looking food but, the kitchen was closed. So, eater/drinker beware: kitchen isn't open all days. I walked here, and then had to scramble to find food somewhere else. The real game-changer? The Maple Chipotle dipping sauce. We cleaned the bowl! Their Kombucha flight was such a fun addition. I got a 3-flight special with Raspberry, POG, and Watermelon flavors. All three were delicious, but POG was definitely my favorite. I won't name names, but I've tried many of their competitors & JuneShine is BY FAR my favorite. It doesn't have a strange aftertaste or anything. It's so smooth, refreshing & plain delicious for any occasion. And it's not sweet sweet like most ciders either. It's literally just perfect. What can I say? I'm a huge fan. Every time I've brought out-of-town friends/family here, they have all had the same reaction: Where has this been all my life?? WHY HARD BOOCH? Yo, I freaking love JuneShine. Low sugar, refreshing taste & made with real fruit?? Sign me up! If you love normal kombucha, you'll love this. On top of that, their drinks range from 4.2% to 6% ABV. I'm such a fan. You'll never wanna touch a White Claws again after you come here. Lol. FAVE FLAVORS: Unfortunately no longer available, but the Stone Brewery x JuneShine collab (2020?) was 100 for me. So glad I got to try it before they sold out like almost immediately! My other go-to faves are the Acai Berry, Blood Orange Mint, and now the POG! But tbh- everything is good. Depends on what you typically like. My husband likes the Midnight Painkiller best. That one has activated charcoal in it & if you get the cans, you should store them upside down. It's a mix of a lot of things: coconut, pineapple, orange, nutmeg, honey, green tea, apple...don't knock it till you try it! It's pretty good. If you're more of a beer person, you might like the Hopical Citrus. But honestly, if you're a first timer, I would just do a few flights here so you can see what you like! It's $10 and you get 3 pours. Worth it. LEAST FAVE: Chili Mango! Boy is it SPICY! But if you like that type of drink, definitely go for this! BEERS: They serve a small selection of beers as well if for some odd reason you're not into their booch. So inclusive, lol. Sadly, I came in last night & they were already all sold out of their newest flavor- POG! But they restock frequently, and the staff said I should call ahead/come back on Monday. If you can't make it out here, I suggest getting the variety pack from Costco which is really affordable. It comes in a box with 4 flavors: Midnight Painkiller, Blood Orange Mint, Grapefruit Paloma, and Hopical Citrus. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Every person I've ever met here (been coming here for over 3 years) has always been funny, kind, and knowledgeable about their products. Never met a rude person. DOG FRIENDLY: JuneShine is totally dog friendly! I love that bc dogs are amazing & it's always fun to bring the furry drinking buddy along! I've had no issues bringing my 20-ish lb rescue pup inside/outside. Obviously, make sure your dog isn't disruptive/leaving any messes for them to clean. Be polite & considerate so they continue being dog friendly! SEATING: Lots of very cute outdoor patio seating with plants galore & also a comfy sofa inside plus the standard bar seating. So clean & chill. It's a vibe y'all & I love it. PARKING: There's PLENTY of street parking/stall parking in this area. It's kind of in a quiet business/commercial area in Scripps Ranch so it's not heavily trafficked though it does get busy. Parking is really easy compared to most breweries. FOOD: I believe they might serve food via Enclave which is in the same building but I can't speak to it because I've never dined here. I know they definitely have pastries and other baked goods. After living nearby JuneShine for some time, we decided to check it out on a random weekday evening. There seemed to be a private event being held on their patio so there was only seating on the benches in front of the building. We got a couple flights to try different flavors but didn't get to stay long since it was pretty hot out and there wasn't much shade in this area. Additionally, the benches were crawling with ants and the ground had a lot of burrs that were getting caught in my pups fur. We only stayed about 15 mins before we decided to go elsewhere.
