Stopped by to look at the interesting chatskis and discovered most were things we've seen on our travels at ridiculously marked up prices. The woman on-site ignored us, even when I asked a direct question. I kept my wallet in my pocket and went elsewhere. Two stars because many of the things were nice. Some were even made by local artists. Most were not. A couple hundred dollars for something you bought in a Lima straw market for $5, not this guy. Our Date Night was so much fun!! We arrived to Paolo's shop a few hours before our dinner reservation time and he walked us around the whole store and showed us every piece of jewelry that he had in stock, which was pretty cool! Then we sat and looked through different pieces of jewelry I brought to see what could either be reimagined or created into a brand new/unique piece! We ultimately decided to have a gem stone that my father-in-law gave me set into a ring! I was a little skeptical of how this was going to be done because the stone is such a unique shape but Paolo assured me that his fabricator is the best! We picked up my ring today and let me tell you what, Paolo was NOT lying!! My new ring is GORGEOUS! The basket is completely hand made by his fabricator and we had it soldered onto a ring that I found at the store from Paolo's estate ring collection. I literally couldn't be happier about it and will absolutely be using Paolo again for our future jewelry purchases!!! Thank you, Paolo, for taking such a special gift to me and turning it into something even more special that I'll be able to pass along to our daughter in the future.

It became a favorite of mine and unbeknownst to me, I didn't realize my sister had always loved that ring. I decided to try and make a replica so that both of us would have one. I have never had anything custom made before, but since I had a friend, Elizabeth, who worked for Kirk & Company Jewelers I thought, who better to replicate my mom's ring than where she works! The customer service there is awesome! Everyone is super friendly and very personable. They walked me through the process and helped me pick out the materials and jewel for the new one. They also kept me up to date via text and email throughout the entire workings of the ring. End result? A beautiful job helping me create a slightly different but very similar version of my mother's ring. And when it came to the final fitting, it slid on like a glove. So smooth and so incredibly gorgeous. Thank you Kirk's for your crew in putting together this important piece. You guys are the best!

I don't consider myself a creative being nor do I find something like making my own jewelry pleasurable. I wasn't a child that owned the bead making machine and I sure as hell didn't grow up just to do the exact same thing. However, my friend insisted that we come here because she found it relaxing and fun. The store itself itself is impressive. There's a large amount of beads from all of the world on display, all ready for you to make the next piece of jewelry of your dreams. It's overwhelming for someone who had no initial desire to make something. Luckily, the family running the operation are more than happy to assist you in finding the perfect project. My friend and I made basic bracelets. They pretty much set you up for success, starting with measuring your wrist for the perfect length bracelet and giving you all the possible bead options to choose from. After that comes what I believed would be the most difficult part: putting the beads onto the string. I think I have decently good hand eye coordination, but the idea of taking a tiny bead and looping it with a tiny string didn't seem like something I'd do easily or well. However, the process went much smoother than I thought it would. I ended up with a blue bracelet and red Christmas tree shaped beads intertwined. At first, I wasn't a huge fan because in my head it looked like something a child would put together in their spare time. I've warmed up to it and I honestly wear it everyday along with a few other bracelets that I've received from various places. The customer service at A World of Beads was amazing. They're all passionate and knowledgeable about the product they're selling. Considering I do not have these qualities in DIY jewelry, it was comforting to know that the people working genuinely cared about my entry into their jewelry world. Zach was particularly helpful in the whole process and very entertaining to talk too. I learned a lot about all the services they have to offer. In addition to the walk-in make your own jewelry, they offer party packages. They're all BYOB too so it's not just for kids; they host showers, bachelorette parties, basically everyone! I'd be surprised if this wasn't on the top of someone's list to add to their festivities if they knew it was an option. Also, they can do same day jewelry fixing/cleaning. I was told of multiple times where they were able to save someone's wedding day by fixing a necklace, tiara, etc. In the words of my favorite eccentric Food Network host Guy Fieri, sometimes you have to slow down and take a look around. I did so (at the encouragement of my friend), and found that jewelry making is actually very entertaining. I can't wait to go back and make something new!

My boyfriend said, "I'm going to wait outside". The store is filled to the brim with beads. Beads of every size, every color, and every style. I especially liked the Swarovski crystal beads because they were extra sparkly! I think they put these beads near the window to draw people in and I guess it must have worked! The counter in the middle of the store has all of the hooks and clasps you need to make your own jewelry. They also carry a large amount of twine, wire, and any other type of string you could need. The class schedule is impressive. Lots of techniques for lots of applications. Some are solely dedicated to the Swarovski beads! I have been going to Welling & Co. for 15 years now. Most of the time, Bill Welling himself is out…read moreon the floor and I have had the good fortune of dealing with him directly. The very first time I visited his store, Bill talked me through the purchase of a gorgeous engagement ring. I hand selected the diamond, with his guidance, and then matched the setting and the ring exactly the way I wanted and had it made. It was very well received and the engagement was a success. Unfortunately, two months later, the disengagement was just as successful. Nothing to be held against Welling & Co. though. I have been back several times since then and always manage to find something nice. I had heard that his location recently moved but I wasn't sure exactly where. I just happened to drive by this week and saw the new location, turned around, and stopped in. It just so happened that I needed some inspiration for an upcoming Christmas gift for my wife. Immediately upon walking in I could see that they had the building interior completely redone. It is absolutely gorgeous. Not long while inside, I was approached by Bill. We got to speaking about his recent move and he told me that he had been thinking about a move and the opportunity came up to purchase this building and it was the best possible scenario for him. Having been in his last two locations, I have to agree. This building and the way it has been designed really goes along with the quality of jewelry that Welling offers. You don't feel like you are in an average mall jewelry store. You are in a high-end jewelry store, and it shows everywhere you look. You cannot walk by one display in the store and not have at least three things or more catch your eye. He has some beautiful pieces on display. As he has done in the past, Bill walked me through a number of options for what I was looking for until I finally settled on what I wanted. And as always, what I walked out with is beautiful. I'm going to have to keep it under wraps what I walked out with, because the gift has yet to be given. But they are beautiful and I cannot wait. (Pictures to be posted later) Would I go back? Definitely. I've been going back for years. And it is such a pleasure to go back into this beautiful new location. I can't wait to take my wife. Well... maybe. Keep this in mind though. Visit his website to get an idea of the different collections and types of jewelry he offers. Welling & Co. offers many price levels of jewelry but I would say you would consider this, again, more of a high-end jewelry store. You absolutely get what you pay for here. In most cases in life, I'm a firm believer of that motto. Wellings offers quality pieces. Custom options as well as collections. Absolutely worth a visit, for any occasion.
