This mattered because there was a difference in the sale price (25% vs 30%) and because even without the sale the ring was more expensive than similar styles, and I was told it was because it was a natural diamond. Long story short, they gave me the paperwork folded up, in its little folio, after I bought it. Turns out it's a lab diamond. Thankfully, I love it and don't care - but what if I did? Pretty obvious they made a mistake and instead of owning up to it they successfully hid it. Another star deducted because they offered $900 for a necklace and ring I got $1800 for elsewhere. I expected them to be less... but THAT much less? That feels sus.

I have never had anything custom made before, but since I had a friend, Elizabeth, who worked for Kirk & Company Jewelers I thought, who better to replicate my mom's ring than where she works! The customer service there is awesome! Everyone is super friendly and very personable. They walked me through the process and helped me pick out the materials and jewel for the new one. They also kept me up to date via text and email throughout the entire workings of the ring. End result? A beautiful job helping me create a slightly different but very similar version of my mother's ring. And when it came to the final fitting, it slid on like a glove.
