Still happy here nearly 2 years later. There have been some staff changes, but they are all as nice as the previous people. Sure, there's some stuff that happens in a growing city- and that's just it. It's a city. It's still a newish building working a few things out. Not everything is as simple as "install a camera." Overall good apartments in a desirable area of West Seattle Junction. The apartments have views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mtns. You can walk to bus connections, grocery stores, and pricier restaurants and bars within a 10-15 minute walk. C-Line bus gets you to downtown in under 20 minutes. The apartments are good quality, somewhat smaller studio-style apartments with open bedroom floor plans. For couples with different schedules, it can be difficult to not disturb each other when getting ready for work or leaving the apartment since the bedroom is open to the common living space only separated by a sliding door. The apartments offer smart features like unlocking the door with your phone or with a code and moisture/leak censors for the sink. There is secure parking for a $175/month charge for 1 vehicle. Rent is $2100 for the 550 sq.ft. apartment I have which I find too expensive. The water/sewer charges are higher than expected and always around $200. I think that includes trash and pest control as well. However, the service provider always makes mistakes on the water bill and charges the customer months later for "under-billing." Once they mistakenly overcharged every resident over a few hundred dollars more than usual. I was offered a renewal offer, but since they are increasing rent again, I am not considering resigning with them. When I discussed the increased rent with the appropriate people through email, they said this was the going rate for apartments in this area and that they stood by their increase of $156/month on top of my rent coming up in June. That kind of money, I don't have, so we are moving out soon. Also, parking spaces can be difficult to find since there are more cars than there should be in the garages and one car in the P2 Garage of building east looks like it has been abandoned for at least a year. In the summer, the Junction is more active and you'll hear more noise from people leaving bars/restaurants, yelling, singing, and the daily recycling/garbage trucks around 3-7am. Living on the 5th floor of Building East, I had trouble sleeping due to the noise level from 11pm to 2am in the summer. The security of the parking garages are questionable and I've personally seen the P1 garage door to street-level of building East open as late as 9pm. Once, I've called security because I've noticed people hanging around in the P1 garage and obviously not going to or from their vehicle. A few times, I believe people have slept in the retail elevator of the P1 garage. There is a door there that you do not need a key fob for. Security isn't on campus, when you call after hours, they'll say they will try to send someone. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID. I lived here for a year and just moved out August 2021 and ever since they switched staff it has been a nightmare. 1. While living here we lost power and there were no emergency lights in the hallway or any safety procedures put in place which is ILLEGAL. The hallways were pitch black so you couldn't see even a foot in front of you. They also propped open all the doors so we lost all security and anyone from the street could wander in. 2. There are constant break ins in the garage as well as storage units and nothing is done about it. 3. You are overcharged for utilities and it is a constant issue. Residents would post about it all the time and again nothing was ever done. 4. The garage is horrific. Even though you pay for a spot there were many times I came home and there wasn't one available and again they do nothing about it. One month they kicked me out of the garage because they had made a mistake on their end. I had to send multiple emails and argue with them over it. I finally sent them a screenshot of my lease for them to finally do something about it. After moving out things got even worse 1. After move out they took $300 off my security deposit for utilities even though I was never given a bill. It took a week of fighting to get even an explanation to this and then they then realized they had overcharged me. 2. By law they have 21 days to return your refund. After still not getting mine I reached out in which they told me I could expect at the end of October...2 months after I moved out again pretty sure this is ILLEGAL This place is a nightmare and has caused me so much time and stress. There are so many other apartment buildings near by do not waste your time or money. read more

As many other reviews, yes the staff has been nothing but respectful and attentive. However here are some pros and cons of the building and living there. Pros: - Close to everything, transport, groceries and restaurants. - Nice amenities plus no charge to reserve - Madeline and Christian were always respectful + helpful. Made move-in easy for us as we were coming from out of state - Both buildings are very clean. - They now have a package room which makes it much easier to get your packages. Cons: - In the west building, facing either street is incredibly loud. Constant ambulances going through at every hour of the day. Unfortunately, this area also has a few homeless people that are there everyday and a few times a week you will hear them yelling of the top of their lungs and cursing at people walking by. I was on the top floor and could hear them clearly. - The water bill fees by Junction alone add up to be $50 + your usage. Total mostly was always 100+ for the small studio. Super inefficient when water wasn't even consumed as much. - Like other apartment buildings in summer, its gets very hot as it has no AC. The windows are operable on the bottom but very difficult for good air flow. - West-building elevator got stuck a couple times a week. It made a beeping noise until it became unstuck (after a few minutes). Spoke with leasing office about twice but apparently the elevator company didn't know what the issue was - so the solution was no solution. - Constant break-ins at the garage. Multiple times during my time there. I couldn't imagine paying that much to get your items stolen. Part of the homeless problem in the area. - You will also see homeless sleeping by both main entries. Unfortunately staff cant do much about it. - Their lease renewal offer to us was 15% rise. I had a good laugh at it. From others in the building, I hear you can negotiate. - Lastly, if you're moving out might as well pay their' cleaning offer' because they are going to charge you anyways. I left our unit cleaner than received and they ended up charging us the full cleaning fee. To those that these have happened before, you can take this to court small claims as I will be doing. Renter tip: take video and photos of the space prior to returning your key :) read more

Run away... Fast!!!!! When this place opened two years ago, it was great. But in the past 9 months, starting around August 2016 we began to run into more and more problems. We have asked the property owners, Equity Residential to address the issues and we (the residents) have all been fed a bunch of excuses. It's become a weekly occurrence to have a car or two or three broken in to. This isn't on the street. This is in their secure parking garage that they charge over $150/month for. Of course they will tell you it's not a "secure garage", but rather a "controlled access" garage. If they call it secure then they assume liability. Just this weekend we had close to 30% of the bikes that rent a parking space in the "secure" bike room stolen. Someone found a way into the locked room that was in the locked garage. We have petitioned to have security cameras installed at all the entry points around the property, which encompasses two buildings separated by a public alley, each having their own garage and loading dock. Management has said they have tried to get quotes to have cameras installed but apparently they have only had two vendors show up in the past 2 weeks. Granted we started to ask them 6 months ago. Parking has gotten better. There was a time when I would come home late at night and there would be no parking spots available. So I pay for parking but if I don't get home early enough i need to park outside? We asked 18 months ago to have reserved spots. It would take a $4 pack of stencils and 2 cans of white spray paint $15. But they said no... we have to wait until Corporate decides if they want to spend the money on that. We still don't have reserved parking if you were curious. A few months back we had the Bose Surround Sound system stolen from our community lounge. Yes another locked room. It was luckily returned a week later after something was posted on the resident's unofficial Facebook page and after the property manager sent out an email to all the residents that accessed the lounge the day prior. The person who stole it probably figured he would get caught when a service tech made entrance to his/her place, so they just threw it under the closest stairwell. Earlier this month we had teenagers access the lobby of one of our buildings and sprayed all our furniture with fire extinguishers that they stole from the... wait for it.... the parking garage! Cameras would have prevented it or at least given something for the cops to go on. Don't like smoking? Well hold your breath when you walk in the building. Residents and employees from the onsite sports bar and the other restaurants that surround our building like to smoke next to the doors. We asked for no smoking signs 6 months ago stating that it was against Seattle Health Code to smoke within 30 feet of an entry. Still nothing. Now the staff that work on site are good people. Super helpful. Knowledgeable. Friendly. I just think their hands are tied by their corporate office, who I have exchanged emails with a few times in regards to all of this. I get a response that says "the building manager has spoken to you...." They didn't offer up any more help, but just referred me back to the manager. I asked if they could set up a community/resident information meeting so the building mangers and corporate and the Police and the residents could discuss solutions to these ongoing problems and they ignored me twice. They prefer to just send out emails days or weeks after crimes have occurred. Junction 47 is one of the newest places in the Alaska Junction. I've made some great friends and have had some good times. But when I am concerned for my safety and my personal property, it doesn't make me want to live here anymore. Oh, and just to give you some insight. Your utility bill will be about $100 for an Urban 1 bedroom. Corporate passes a Sewer surcharge on to it's residents and doesn't disclose that. It's about $30 whether you use the water or not. And they charge you a flat rate for the trash no matter how many people are living in the complex. I pay the same amount for my one person, one bedroom place as the people next door pay, they have 4 people in a 2 bedroom. Tell me that's not unfair. This was also brought to the attention of management. I'm getting out of this place as soon as possible. Like I said, I like the staff. But the corporate office is tying their hands and they make the ultimate decisions on everything. A couple $1000 camera system could have prevented $1000 of dollars of bikes being stolen and cars vandalized and their contents taken. Wake up Equity Residential. Start caring about your residents. Heaven forbid, something bad happens to a resident and you don't have cameras up or proper security in place. This is negligence!!!! read more

I've been living at Junction 47 for about 6 months now, stumbling on the place when I was sure I was going to have to settle for an okay apartment after moving here from Texas. However, this has been one of the best properties I've lived in! The rent is fair for Seattle area and a "luxury" apartment property. They have a small gym on-site with access for everyone in both buildings. If you don't get the building with the gym, then you get the building with the rooftop lounge (which is pretty awesome). Every Seahawk Sunday they hold a community get-together to watch the game and a few times a year they'll hold a community gathering to celebrate. On top of that, you can "rent" (it's free) the space out for your own gatherings / parties. The apartments are very nice with really good layouts. You won't have unused corners or awkwardly Z-shaped hallways here. Each one comes with a laundry unit (I think) and moving-in was pretty easy since they section-off an elevator for you. Kitchen is a bit weird if you have a hallway one, but easily remedied with a moving island. The only time I hear my neighbors is when they open or close closets... and I have to be listening pretty hard to hear that (it's a very very quiet thump). The location is prime, centered literally in the Alaska Junction property. Within a short walking distance are several bars, stores, fine or casual dining, and groceries. While there is an active night-life here, for the most part West Seattle is quieter than the downtown or Belltown area. Plus, if you need to get downtown the C-line and 55 stop right across the street. And if farmers markets are your thing, every week on Sunday you can walk right into the West Seattle one. But the best part about this community, which I can't even tell you how great it is (especially after my last review in Texas) is the management. Cliff and Jason are awesome and they really make this community what it is. They work with you as much as they can to make your life easy. I really can't compliment them enough! The only downside I've had with this apartment is that the trash getting picked-up is loud as hell and comes pretty early in the morning. Small complaint that can't really be avoided, and really only affects properties facing the alleyway. I've heard if you get a room near the trash that the chute can be loud, and I don't doubt that, but I don't personally know. read more

I've been commuting from Bainbridge Island for nearly two years, and once my partner got a job on this side of the water we couldn't WAIT to move. We knew we wanted to live in West Seattle, and wanted to choose something quickly so we could be settled in before the holidays and before he started his new gig. We stopped by Junction 47 on a Tuesday evening - we'd seen a Craigslist ad and were in the neighborhood to tour another (smaller, more expensive, and far less stylish) apartment community, so we thought we'd stop by. They were closing in 30 minutes and had another client, but Cliff came out and helped us make an appointment for the next day, and was extremely apologetic that they couldn't accommodate our impromptu visit (which we totally understood!) We met with Katie on Wednesday, who took her time to show us several apartments, answer all our questions, and let us know about their 6-week free rent promotion. At no point did we feel pressured to make a decision, and after talking it through, we decided we couldn't pass up such a great location, beautiful apartment, and price, and had to apply. We ended up signing the lease on Friday and moving in on Saturday (quick, I know!) The whole move-in process could not have gone more smoothly. The move-in costs (which I thought were reasonable) were easy to pay online, and Cliff & Katie helped arrange for the internet providers to come set us up before we even moved in (SO helpful!). We reserved a loading dock and elevator for 3 hours, brought a UHaul over, and wrapped everything up in a single day. The best moving experience I've had by far! We've been moved in for less than a week, but we just keep saying how GLAD we are we chose Junction 47. It's so clean, feels very safe and secure, the building is gorgeous and the apartment has more than enough storage space. We also love being able to jump in the elevator to fit in a workout in the building's gym before work. read more

Staff here was very rude to me when I tried to rent an apartment, basically told me I was wasting my time attempting to rent from them. Told me I was misleading them about my income. Also made me feel like I couldn't possibly afford my credit cards or anything related to my credit report. These people ruined my entire day I felt so bad after leaving them. read more

I have lived at Junction 47 for just about 1 year and just signed a lease for another year. If you are interested in living in West Seattle, Junction 47 is THE place to live! I absolutely love the floor plan that I rented, though I did look at several other floor plans prior to moving in and they were all just as nice. The apartment interiors are very clean and modern with nice finishes such as quartz countertops, modern white cabinetry, quality vinyl wood floors throughout, except for carpeting in the bedroom/s, and a different laminate in the bathroom/s. There is also attention to detail that you don't often see in apartments such as, ample closet and cupboard space, amazing lighting, tons of outlets, and multiple cable hookups so you can choose how you want to arrange your furniture instead of having to plan around the only option to place your tv. Also, the sound barrier between apartments is exceptional! I literally cannot hear my side by side neighbors at all, and I rarely hear my upstairs neighbor. The common areas are modern and well maintained. The office staff is really friendly and the maintenance team is always on top of maintenance requests. Lastly, the location cannot be beat! I love being able to walk to QFC, Safeway, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's. Plus, there are tons of great restaurants and local shops all within walking distance. There is also a year-round farmers market on Sundays that starts right at the corner of Alaska and California. I truly love living here and recommend Junction 47 to anyone that is looking to rent in West Seattle. read more

I've lived here since October 2015, and have enjoyed every part of this community. As others have mentioned, the maintenance manager Rob is as good as it gets in terms of service and friendliness. I purchased a portable air conditioner last summer because it got pretty hot, but the windows of this community were not configured to handle the exhaust housing for the AC unit. Rob built a frame for the window that would hold the AC air hoses. He was happy to do it! The rest of the staff is just as friendly and they take time to get to know you and chat even after you've signed a lease contract. The community manager, Cliff, knows me by my first name and I'm sure the same goes for the other tenants. The lease office also makes an effort to engage with the residents and periodically set up community gatherings in the rooftop lounge. The building itself is in great shape because it is very new. I've never had a problem with any of the appliances in my apartment. There are also 2 grocery stores (QFC/Safeway) within walking distance and several bars/restaurants in the area. With regards to the rates, Junction 47 is a little more expensive than White Center or Alki, but they're pretty competitive with the neighboring communities around Alaska Junction. Nice apartments and nice staff but as usual with these "luxury" apartments they never put enough insulation between the units and I can hear my new neighbor above me stomping around all day and night. I can even hear him washing clothes. Also make sure you dont rent a unit near the trash shoot because listening to the sounds of glass going down the shoot is quite annoying along with the constant slamming of the door. Will definitely be seeking out a smaller apartment community or townhouse after my lease is up. read more

Ever since I moved in I have loved every day living at Junction 47. The Staff is amazing and the amenities are great. My only complaint which isn't the staff is that some residents complain so much about noise from outside that is not any fault of Junction 47 it is just normal city living. I feel the staff has handled those residents professionally and that if you don't do your research on what your surroundings are then it is no ones fault other then your own when you have selected your home. You know you'll get a beautiful, brand new apartment right in the heart of the Junction in living here. However, you'll also get the most professional, responsive, and caring management team I've ever seen in an apartment building (especially one with as many tenants as Junction 47's two towers). Unforeseen circumstances have me moving out of here very, very shortly after moving in, and the management team (Therese in particular) has been wonderful, helpful and kind. That's a tough, tough job as is; add to it high maintenance needs like the ones I've sent their way, and it's been an absolute blessing to work with folks like them. Gorgeous apartments, stunning views, responsible and respectful neighbors...worth every penny. read more

We are very happy with our home at Junction 47. The building is new with great amenities. Our apartment is well set up with a view of the water and a nice deck to sit on and enjoy it. The staff is helpful and friendly. Security is very good with systems for access into the building, elevators, and garage. We have parking in locked garage and onsite storage for bikes and general. Everything about Junction 47 is awesome. From the brand-new building itself with views of Elliott Bay. To the amazing and useful amenities such as the pet wash station and rooftop lounge. To the dedicated staff on the maintenance team as well as the leasing office. This is truly a wonderful place to call home. Every service request I have ever had has been resolved in less than two hours. I see rob the service manager every morning as I am leaving for work and he is doing a walk-through of the parking garage ensuring that everything is working properly and he always takes the time to say hello and wave to me. Therese always delivers packages to my apartment for me and my husband even though that is not part of her job. She goes the extra mile to ensure that my husband and I do not have to wait until our day off to get our packages. Cliff is the coolest property manager you could ever ask for. You might as well be talking to your brother because he is always down to earth and willing to help in anyway he can. On top of the amazing staff that being the number one reason that makes this place awesome. I also have hard plank flooring and quartz countertops in my apartment home. It's located in an amazing location everything I need is literally within four blocks. To include an LA fitness signature club two grocery stores and a Petco. There are also some of the best bars and restaurants within four blocks as well. Some of these bars and restaurants are literally on the ground floor of the building that I am so lucky to live in. I will be getting a house soon and I am definitely going to miss living here. read more

"Do real people write these reviews?" That's probably what you're asking yourself right now, because that's what I always asked myself. But yes, REAL people write reviews. I always make sure to do the best research I can when making a move and especially when you're moving states and don't have the time to fly/travel and visit the property to see if it's the right place for you. In total I had about 11 options that topped my list, Junction 47 was my number #1 on the top of my list. I asked all the apartment complexes on my list to send me pictures/videos, and information etc. Jason (from Junction) was the one that helped me since the beginning, for almost an entire month, he helped me while I was planning my move from California I'm telling you, Jason and Cliff are hard working and amazing people! They pay close attention to your needs, they don't just talk the talk they do everything in their power to make this move one of the best for you and your family. This place is pet friendly (never seen so many cute dogs & they have a pet grooming station!) They have a variety of apartment layouts, just saying I'm in love with my new home, it's beautiful! Don't even get me started with everything that's downstairs! Two 24hr grocery stores, Ups/Mail, almost all the banks, Starbucks right down the elevator (you can practically smell coffee from the lobby!), delicious restaurants and bars right at your feet (Chipotle, Subway, Nikko Teriyaki-the bomb, Fresh Bistro, Cupcake Royal, A la mode pies) I can go on and on! You get the idea, all these plus amazing shops are literally right here, you can literally see them from your window! I'm just saying it's amazing especially if you don't want to drive and you're stuck with an appetite. Farmers Market every Sunday 10-2 and can't forget the bus lines are right downstairs as well! The community at Junction is so heart warming nothing to worry about and it is super safe (trust me I'm big on making sure I'm in a safe place) Rob the Maintenance Manager is just A-MAZING! When you put in a service request he is on it in a snap! The property is always 100% clean. The staff here at Junction really want to make sure you are fully satisfied and extremely happy with your home. Honestly this is probably the longest review you've read but it was so worth it and trust me I have so much more to say about this place, just know that you won't regret making Junction 47 your new home! read more
