I've been a regular at Junction 421 for quite some time now, and each visit continues to be a delightful experience. Shay served us and was a pleasure to talk to. Service was quick and thorough and we had many side conversations to add to the experience. Been here many times and always happy with their dishes. One of few places that gets pretty creative with their menu and the ingredients are always high quality. Had an incredible brunch today, got the chicken biscuits and sausage gravy and then got the bananas foster French toast. Neither are things I usually order, but just had a craving for epic amounts of food. The sausage gravy is definitely made from scratch and they know how to bread some chicken. The chicken is definitely the focus and quite a good portion but I really wanted a well seasoned gravy with quality sausage and certainly wasn't disappointed. If you're a sweets type, that French toast has a lot going on and the fosters flavor really comes through. Couldn't finish it, but if you can then you're more a man than I am. The French toast sat on a dense bread pudding like portion surrounded by bananas foster and syrup. Bacon came as a side and was fresh sourced, cooked just right and without that overly salted Cheney Bros BS. As always, I'll come back and order some of the many good appetizers they have or a burger which they do right. read more

What a great addition to Monkey Junction! Went to check it out a couple weeks ago and we've been back quite a few times! Whether you sit in the main dining room, the bar or in one of the plush blue booths in the back room... it's a wonderful experience. The servers and bartenders are warm and knowledgeable. And the food.. everything we've tried has been great! You can get anything from some killer "pulled pork" nachos, flatbread pizzas, burgers (even a vegan one!), to a gigantic "Baja Salad" and "Prime Rib" - Saturdays Blue Plate Special (and, yes they have a different one every night of the week). Top it off with the "warm cookie and brownie-bake" that is to die for. Not to mention they have so many local and regional beers AND spirits (who knew)! And tons of drink specials. This has definitely become one of our go to places not only in Monkey Junction, but all of Wilmington! read more

We have been to Junction 421 numerous times now and each time is superb. Tonight was no different. The service by Brandon our server was top notch. He was busy and I understand why! He is great. Always making sure you had refills and making sure you didn't need anything. He was pretty funny too! The quality of the food has always been superb! I rate and compare the Italian cuisine we had tonight 5 stars to any high end Italian restaurant in the area. The owner ALWAYS stands out by welcoming his customers at their tables making conversation and making sure everything is as it should be. I'm not sure how he does it but he will remember his guests too! You can tell his passion for his restaurant. Tonight we had the pleasure of dining at Junction 421 with Skyla as our server. I cannot say enough about her service and the amazing food. Skyla was so attentive and friendly, and our ribeyes were outstanding. We ordered the fried pimento cheese as an appetizer as well and it was perfection. The owner also makes a point to stop at the tables and check on each of his customers. It is clear that he keeps up with repeat visitors as I heard him check in and welcome customers back to the restaurant. It is rare to see an owner delivering food and checking on customers but it sure does make a difference. Junction 421 is truly a gem and should not be passed up by anyone visiting the Carolina Beach and Wilmington area (and beyond- it's worth the drive). read more

Last night another couple, my wife and I, went to Junction 421. This now makes it our 3rd or 4th time. Each time we have gone our dining experience has been great. Meals are presented hot and plentiful. But last night was exceptional. What made the night was our wait person Candice. She was attentive and best of all she had a great personaliTy. We even went to the owner/manager Johnathan and told him how pleased we were having her as our wait person. And that she was an assist to his team. We were in town for the weekend and EVERYONE is short staffed. We attempted dinner at several different places before we stumbled across this gem. The host informed us the wait was long due to social distancing practices and an overall effort to help everyone stay safe but offered us a table near the bar. It was perfect! The bartender was quick and attentive. The red sangria was one of the best I have every had. The food was excellent, the décor was beautiful and the overall experience was great. We ate at Junction 421 for the first time last week and intend to come back many many more times! Not only was the food amazing and the cocktails delicious but Jonathan the owner and Brandon our server made the experience even better. Brandon especially made a great experience for all the great recommendations he made 4 cocktails and beers and food. Plus he was very funny and entertaining! We asked Jonathan for a special meal for a birthday dinner. He went out of his way to make this happen for our party of five. Ordering items that aren't on their menu. Our meal and service was spectacular. From picking out the correct wine to the rich chocolate pie, we couldn't have asked for more. This is service beyond a regular restaurant. We've discovered a restaurant that makes us want to come back.  The food is good and the service is great.  The owners are on site and Jonathan greets his guests with a big smile and a genuine appreciation for his customers. Stopped in for a family dinner and from the minute we walked in the door we were treated like family. The service was amazing and our American burgers were even better! Probably the best burger I've ever eaten, and we eat a lot of burgers. Kids got chicken fingers which were hand breaded and delicious. Generous portions, reasonable prices and a kids menu with lots of choices. Can't wait to come back Sunday for the chicken and waffles...I've been told they are a must try!! read more

We appreciate the follow up from Jonathan after our initial visit along with an invitation to come back. We asked to dine outside and thought the small water feature was a nice touch for the covered outdoor patio. I had the best experience here at Junction 421. The customer service was off the charts amazing! The food was out of this world! They give great portions. I loved the personal touch of the manager stopping at each table to say hello. I was impressed that the staff was very familiar with the menu and told us how much they love eating there with their own families. We ordered Easter dinner from Junction 421. Brisket, pasta salad, mashed taters, and the tastiest coconut creme brûlée ever. They also included a nice Easter message on a notecard and rolls.
