Love this place! Friendly servers, great food, and the outdoor dining is lovely with heaters, hanging lights, and a waterfall. It's also dog-friendly if you're dining on the porch. My husband, son and I have eaten here twice this month and the food never disappoints. The kids meal pizza is large enough to feed two and SO good! Made brick-oven style. Luckily my little boy doesn't mind sharing a slice with me. I had the special last night which was angel hair pasta with shrimp, crabmeat, mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes in a lemon-butter sauce. My only complaint would be the beer cheese was a bit cold and too thick for our pretzel appetizer even though the pretzel was steaming hot and delicious. Brussels sprouts app was great and crunchy. We ordered two burgers. Mine I ordered a Carolina burger med-rare and it came out well done, unfortunately. Still enjoyable with the saucy pimento cheese and fried onions on top. Fries were good. My wife ordered the double smash burger and enjoyed it, she did say she felt like it wasn't worth quite the $17 price tag. But the pumpkin crème brûlée dessert was to die for. Family ordered salads to start with. Entrees hit the table before the salads. Only slightly disappointed. Each person ordered the 421 chicken. For 18$ I expected more than a small, over cooked chicken breast with a scoop of mash potatoes. No manager approached our table to ask about our dining experience. Obviously this restaurant had very big shoes to fill after the closing of OC. I was very unimpressed with their food selection and drink menu. The interior was very off brand and seemed like a mix between a sports bar and steakhouse. I think this area could benefit from having a high quality steakhouse since there aren't any on this side of town. Service was great, but the food was okay at best. Not worth the price for burgers and flatbread pizza. I have no plans on returning. Sad to see the OC gone. read more

We frequent many restaurants in the Wilmington area and Junction 421 was one of the best. Our experience started with a phone call to the restaurant to ask about reservations. The hostess was friendly and upbeat with fantastic people skills. Then arriving to the restaurant was such a treat, what a beautiful place with great decor. The manager Thomas welcomed us and had a conversation with us before even being seated at our table. Our server Brandon was knowledgeable, attentive and had great menu recommendations. We also had a wonderful visit from the owner Jonathan. He was welcoming and truly the king of hospitality. Now the food, we had crab dip as an appetizer. 421 chicken and flounder Oscar for our entrees. I can't compliment the food enough. Absolutely delicious!! The food was simply amazing. The manager met us at the front and talked with us. The service was so amazingly good. Me and my son got a burger and it was cooked so perfectly I almost cried while I was eating it. My niece got bacon wrapped tenderloin..well I think I had u at bacon.lol. my other two kids had pizza and it was redicoulos. The food and appetizers came fast which is a added bonus with a 11 yr old, 16 yr old, and 2 yr old. Please eat here. It's a little pricey but when I got done eating I felt like I still owed them money because it was so so so good. .if I had more stars I would use them. This was our first time visiting this restaurant as a family. It was early on a Friday night and we were 4 adults and 2 children. The food was delicious and decently quantities. The Fish & Chips was a delicious nicely battered haddock. The burger was juicy and done to perfection. The kids Mac n cheese was nicely done and the chicken tenders were fresh not frozen. We had a large party, we're able to reserve seating, we were treated exceptionally well, manage/owner even came and greeted us personally, sent complimentary appetizers to our table. The steaks are always cooked just like they are ordered, the sandwiches and burgers have been good every time and the specials always live up to their billing! We ended up here by accident and it was a wonderful surprise. We had their crab dip which is my family's go to appetizer and it was the best crab dip I've ever had! We also had the fried pimento cheese and it was super good. The burgers are thick and juicy and cooked perfectly. We had one cooked medium and one well and they were both exactly right. The Cobb salad is huge and loaded with chicken and bleu cheese. The bleu cheese sirloin was covered in cheese and cooked to perfection. Our server, Shelly, was so attentive and helpful. I asked a lot of questions because I'd had dental surgery and had to be cautious with what I chewed. They have daily specials that sounded very tasty. We will definitely be back! read more

I have been to this restaurant many times with my brother and his wife for dinner when I was visiting them. For my brother's 70th birthday, I decided to do a surprise party for him there. The entire event was as stress free and delicious as it could be. I called and spoke to the manager and set up the date and time and when we arrived everything was ready and set up. We had the brunch because we gathered on a Sunday when they offer brunch. When it was all over, all of the guests commented on how great the food was and it was, trust me. My brother said it was the best birthday he had ever had. They even arranged to get a cake for the party. His favorite cake is Coconut Cake and I have never had one as good as that cake was. If you want a guaranteed 4 star meal, go to Junction 421 and you will be glad you did. read more

Staff and service was awesome, the food was not bad but between portion issues and pretty bland food I wouldn't highly recommend. It just wasn't anything special especially for the price of some of the dishes. For example, 5 average bites of steak to balance a huge bowl of Alfredo that wasn't very warm or tasty for 30 dollars just isn't worth recommending. The sandwiches were better valued and tasted good but the fries that came with them tasted like the frozen ones out of the bag. Overall the restaurant atmosphere was nice, welcoming, and the staff were amazing but unfortunately there's much tastier options in Wilmington with better value. read more

The atmosphere is incredibly beautiful and the staff was just absolutely amazing. We both ordered the special of the night which was meatloaf with mashed potatoes and vegetables. No choice of vegetables, only asparagus. The mashed potatoes were hard, the asparagus should have been cooked a little longer and I have had much better meatloaf at chain restaurants for half the price. I could have made it better at home. I did not have dinner as yet but all the plates that came out looked really good. I had a calamari appetizer which was fresh baby calamari. It was delicious. Also, I had the deviled egg appetizer which had pimento cheese and bacon and green onions. They were so good. There was a Wicked Weed craft beer Lunatic special, so I had a pint to go with my food. My fiancé and I are from Virginia Beach and we came here with my dad. They ran out of a few menu items we tried to order but we came pretty late so it's understandable. We started with the calamari which was delicious!! Our waiter Thomas was very attentive and had a great sense of humor. I had the short rib grilled cheese, my fiancé had the short rib Mac and cheese, and my dad had the cheese burger, and all were delicious. Even the beer battered fries were awesome. We had a great time, Thomas made the entire night a fun experience. Then when they brought that it was flat as well. Then they forgot to bring silverware 3 times and messed up my wife's entree and my steak tasted like oven cleaner. I don't understand the bad reviews. I went here and had the braised short rib and my bf had the ribeye. He's a steak snob and he loved the steak for the price. The short rib was perfectly prepared with a cheesy grit cake to compliment. Our server was also very kind and attentive. Had a wonderful social environment for a Wednesday night with a separate bar area. I can't wait to go back for drinks and try out some more of their menu. The previous reviews are inconsistent with my personal expectations and almost dissuaded me from giving it a try. They're either fake or maybe they've significantly improved in the past few months. Either way, it's worth a shot. And why does everyone keep mentioning OC? I'd go to the Olive Garden before going to OC.
