Fast delicious matcha (and matcha products). Delicious flavor in the mango matcha and the ice cream was refreshing. Very efficient and clean. Order on an iPad. They are cashless.

One of the best mango Matcha's ! Delicious matcha with an extensive menu and wonderful options to customize. The cutest photo op place and they had a Polaroid wall to add a Polaroid to it that they take of you there. It was so cute and loved the vibes. Very popular and quick service.
Came back to junbi, left with a mediocre matcha. They just opened with the golden peach series so i got a golden peach blended matcha. It has a very weak matcha flavor nor is there a peach taste. Tasted like a semi sweet matcha slush. But in the bright side, they have these cute miffy cup sleeves now!
Came all the way from NY to try Junbi and sadly, it did not live up to the hype. I had high hopes for both the drinks and riceball and although the drinks were good, it was not phenomenal. The riceball on the other hand was just terrible. It was mold into a triangle and a seaweed was provided so you can DIY yourself. Once I took the riceball out of the bag, everything fell apart. The rice did not hold together and it was just very messy to eat. I would not recommended this as a to go snack.
A fantastic spot for matcha-based boba drinks. It's a staple in the community. Service is generally pretty fast, and there's plenty of seating (though may be occupied with students doing work). Nice ambience and generally pretty clean. There are also small hires available here, like onigiri and sandwiches. I love the variety of selections here and the creativity of the seasonal drinks. My go-to order is the iced dirty matcha (two shots of espresso) with boba. The blend of flavors from the espresso and matcha are my favorite!
Refreshing drinks. My husband and I both enjoyed our drinks very much. I got the strawberry matcha and he got the orange drink which tasted like creamsicle. It came with a cute little cup sleeve
I ended up checking out this spot because they had a collaboration with MIFFY and I really wanted to pick up the MIFFY cup. The service was mediocre as they messed up the milk in my drink but it was still decent. If I'm craving a sweetened matcha drink I would definitely check this place out again but it is a bit more pricier since it's a specialized matcha spot.
Usually character collabs are only in the west coast so I was soo excited to see that there was a Miffy collab on the east coast that's not in New York. I got the orange creamsicle matcha latte and my partner got the blended orange creamsicle. Many times when there's a collab company's won't put in too much thought and use the name to sell product but I could tell there was a lot of thought put in. The offerings were unique and worked well together - never thought orange and matcha could complement each other. Drinks came out pretty fast, a bit pricey but they seemed to use high grade ingredients and use eco friendly packaging.
It was a cold day in Princeton and I loved my warm strawberry matcha drink I asked for it with coconut milk and cold foam and my soul was happy. I could taste what I think was strawberry pulp almost tasted like watermelon. Definitely something different but tasty. The place was cute and the barista was helpful . Thanks Junbi
I was super excited to see this boba chain hit the East Coast. I ordered the matcha latte with 0% sugar level and no ice. I would have preferred it if there was a choice of a smaller size. Don't know why the drinks are so large these days. I feel like I am forced to pay a higher price for something that only comes in one size. After placing the order, it was ready in less than a minute. In other words, it is probably premade. Interior is old and not that inviting. Service was alright, and so was the drink. Tastes like a watered down matcha latte even though it is made with oat milk. Will not be returning.
Strawberry matcha was okay, for the onigir but the rice was so dry , it taste like old rice and it broke apart quickly
Visited here the second time and it was just as good as the first. I really enjoyed my Cold Strawberry Matcha Latte. The perfect blend of strawberry and matcha flavors. My friend ordered the Spiced Hojicha Latte w/ Vanilla Cold Cap but asked for no pumpkin spice. Her drink was stronger on the hojicha flavor and a light espresso flavor at the end. It was a good combo, we never had hojicha latte before... different but good!
I've followed Junbi via Instagram from their original west coast location, and was excited to visit their latest franchise in Princeton. This tea shop specializes in a variety of premium matcha drinks, which are nothing like the green tea/matcha lattes you get at Starbucks or other tea or coffee shops. The matcha is strong yet smooth, and the different combos complement the tea so perfectly. I had the yuzu dragonfruit and loved the sweet citron flavors. I came way back during their opening weekend and there were a few small hiccups with my two orders. Regardless, I know they're working out some of the kinks - I'll be back to try their drinks again! read more
Junbi is a trendy bubble tea cafe located in the heart of Downtown Princeton that specializes in matcha based drinks. Upon entering, the decor is very zenlike and it seemed like it was a great hang out spot! For ordering, they have a self-service kiosk at the front or you can order at the stand where a staff member will take your order. I decided to order the strawberry jasmine tea...all the drinks came in a standard size and I was pleasantly surprised by how large my drink was! The staff also asked about sweetness and ice level and I went with the standard options. Though my drink was aesthetically pleasing (almost looks like a sunset!), it was waaaay too sugary for me where I only ended up finishing half of it. I'd probably go with the lowest/no sugar level next time. They also have limited options for food and coffee where I only saw rice balls and latte/espressos being served on the menu. Junbi just soft opened on Witherspoon in the previous storefront of Holsome Teas & Herbs. They're an LA-based franchise specializing in matcha, and they have a wide range of hot and cold matcha drinks, as well as other milk teas and some small food items like onigiri and chia pudding. A full menu with online ordering is on their website https://www.toasttab.com/junbi-princeton/v3 and they have the option for curbside pickup. I liked my straight up matcha drink ($4): the matcha is the best in the area, and the house-made almond jelly (+$0.50) was smooth and had a strong almond flavor. Sweetness and ice levels are fully customizable, and they also have several non-dairy milk options and a variety of toppings to choose from. Their drinks and store interior are also very Instagrammable, and they've already become super popular since opening. They also have matcha soft serve ($4.50+) and egg tarts ($2.75). I'm actually pretty surprised that Princeton is their first east coast location (and that there have been two new bubble tea places that opened in such a short timespan). Looking forward to revisiting and trying more of their drinks and desserts! edit: they added matcha creme puffs ($4 each)! First time coming to Junbi! Thanks to my boyfriend who introduced me to this amazingly and wonderful tea shop. The decor inside is bright and gives you a warm welcome when walking in. We walked in and there was a long line but it was pretty quick and next thing you know it was our turn so we didn't wait too long. I ordered an Strawberry Matcha Fresca and Yuzu Dragonfruit Matcha. The Strawberry Matcha Fresca is a good choice if you like sweet drink and very refreshing. Definitely a drink to pick on the menu. The Yuzu Dragonfruit Matcha is fantastic. Both drinks flavors are on point. I would definitely recommend this tea shop who enjoys quality tea and a refreshing drinks!! read more

The strawberry chrysanthemum tea was really good--definitely recommend on a hot day! The floral notes complemented the strawberry flavor, yet it wasn't too sweet. The boba itself wasn't anything special but had good texture. The interior is cutely decorated in summer colors, but it did smell a bit weird inside. read more

I've been wanting to check out this place for a while and was really excited to finally be back in Princeton to stop by! I'm glad to say that it's met my expectations!! We ordered on their kiosks and everything was ready in just a few minutes. The overall ambiance was very minimalistic/modern. It was super well decorated and seems like a great study spot (esp with free wifi!) I ordered the yuzu dragonfruit matcha drink with regular sugar, no ice, and boba. It was super flavorful and delicious! I loved that the yuzu and dragonfruit cut down on the strong matcha taste and really blended the flavors together. I also ordered their rice balls flight (salmon, spam & egg, and mentaiko). They were absolutely delicious and I highly recommend! I can't wait to come back to try out more things on their menu. read more

I've always wanted to check out Junbi since following @stirandstyle but they were in the west coast. I was happy to hear they allowed franchising and selected Princeton as one of their locations. The store is very minimalistic and instagrammable. They have 2 kiosks where you can place your own order or place one at the cashier's desk. I ordered the mango matcha with aloe Vera and my friend ordered the pomegranate. Both very refreshing drinks in the 90 degrees heat! read more

So glad that we found a boba cafe but so sad that the drinks were bad. Location: in college town, easy to find, lots of street parking and parking garages in area. Just have to pay for parking. Lots of seating in the shop. Food: we ordered the strawberry matcha, black tea with milk with tapioca and guava black tea with tapioca. All three drinks were watery. Very light tea flavor, just mainly sweet. The tapioca(boba) was the worst part. They are rubbery and had a plastic after taste. I can't! Service: you can use the kiosks to order or order at the counter. Price: $5-6 a drink and extra if you add toppings. Average price, totally not worth it since our drinks were disappointing. We came here because our usual bubble tea place wasn't open yet. We tried our regular milk tea and a flavored tea. It was just okay but hey, always willing to give places a second chance. A month later, We decided to give the place a try a second time, this time ordering one of their matcha teas and fruit teas. Still just okay. For the $5+ price tag per drink, it just didn't hit the spot or give me that money well spent feeling. Another thing to keep in mind is if you're going with kids, most drinks are all teas. They don't have any of the yogurt or fruit slush / popping bobas kids tend to like. I will say the atmosphere is nice. You can order with the cashier or at the kiosk. Place has plenty of seating and welcomes students studying or small meet ups. read more
Went for Lunch Food - 5/5. Their onigiri is one of the best I've had! Many onigiris have an issue where it is incredibly bland except for the speck of flavor filling in the middle. At Junbi the rice is just the right amount of soft with plenty of seasoning to make every bite delicious. The salmon inside was tender and seasoned well. The matcha has similar vibes to the onigiri with its flavor encompassing the entire drink. The Madagascar vanilla added a subtle sweetness and great aroma that paired really well with the clean bitterness that high quality matcha is known to have, making for a really refreshing and energizing drink. Service - 4/5. Welcoming and quick. Value - 5/5. Their food and drinks were both a wonderful experience. I enjoyed that their menu has simple, common items but they elevated them into a new level. The decor inside is very nice and they do decorations outside depending on what season it is/holiday that's coming up. The matcha iced lattes are the only thing i've ever gotten from here but it's the best matcha latte around in the jersey/philly area so i come here often for them! The strawberry matcha iced latte is amazing. The self-service kiosk makes it so that i can order quickly and get my drink quickly! read more

I am obsessed with matcha and anything matcha flavored so it's needless to say that Junbi and I are a match made in heaven. COLD STRAIGHT UP - Personally i like my matcha just how it is, not too sweet and ice cold. This was a great way to satisfy my craving. The bubbles are chewy and slightly sweet! SALMON RICE BALL - it's okay, a little pricey for one rice ball but fills you up. Two kiosks are available to put in your order or you can skip it and go straight to the cashier to order. There is indoor seating and cute outdoor seating for photo ops! Overall, Junbi is a great place to stop by for desert after eating out in Princeton! read more
I stumbled upon this place while walking around Princeton. What got my attention was the word, matcha!! Not to mention the interior of the place was super cute. It gave me a trendy Japanese zen cafe vibe and it's very spacious too. I got the mango matcha fresca and the flight rice balls. The flight rice balls included spam and egg, salmon, and mentaiko. I like the salmon the most and the mentaiko the least. The mango matcha fresca was delicious. I tasted the mango with a hint of matcha and it's not sugary. It tasted refreshing. I've spent most of my life by Princeton and even now it's hard to imagine that we would have a place like Junbi here! Princeton is quickly catching up with the trendy food places, which means saving myself a trip to Edison/New Brunwick area or North Jersey . The first thing that impressed me was the yellow/green/brown color story and the greenery decor inside the shop. Everything came together for a relaxed and fun vibe. There are a lot of options available, ranging from creamier matcha variations to fruity ones. There's even other items like matcha soft serve, rice balls, and egg tarts. I went on a Sunday at like 5:30 PM, and they had already ran out of the soft serve, so keep this in mind if you're going just for that! I got a Mentaiko rice ball (fish roe inside sushi rice) and a Matcha Mango Fresca. I think the prices were fair with the drink being a little over $5 and the rice ball being around $3.25. The drinks are only one size, and I would compare them to a size large at most bubble tea places. You can also customize the sugar level, ice, milk alternatives, toppings, and extra caffeine shots. I get mild headaches from the espresso shots in Starbucks, and this drink affected me similarly. It's expected because matcha is very strong lol. The drink that I got was very refreshing and not overwhelmed by sweetness or matcha. The rice ball is more of a snack size, and I honestly think it would take like 3 to fill me up. Don't be like me with placing the seaweed on the wrong part of the rice ball haha, but I still enjoyed it. Overall, I can see this spot spiking in popularity, so I recommend ordering ahead of the crowd. The tables aren't spaced out that much and none were reserved for social distancing, so it's probably better to eat outside especially if you're with a group. I can't wait to become a regular here and fulfill my matcha needs!! read more

Ordered a vanilla matcha and a strawberry matcha. Strawberry was very refreshing but the vanilla was much too sweet, even at the lowest sweetness level so I would suggest adding zero sugar. We also got the rice balls, which were all yummy! There wasn't a single one I didn't like, though my boyfriend really liked the spam one. read more
I'm normally not a matcha person but this place is so good! I got an iced Madagascar Vanilla matcha latte and all of the flavors blended very nicely. The tea flavor was so authentic and didn't have an after taste. Lyani was the employee helping me and she was so nice, even let us try samples before committing to the drink (I wish more places did this). I would highly recommend this place if you're in the area. So glad this chain's on the east coast now! Drove for an hour but it did not disappoint! The flavor combinations that they had are so interesting as well I got the magic matcha with bubbles, the yuzu dragon fruit matcha with lychee jelly, strawberry matcha and mango matcha. The magic matcha was so good! The flavoring was very different and I enjoyed every sip, the bubbles were nice and soft too. The yuzu dragon fruit was very refreshing, but I still preferred the milky drinks and the lychee jelly they have isn't your typical Boba shop square shape jelly, I think they use actual lychee pieces! The matcha intensity can be a bit hit or miss sometimes, but usually it's balanced well with matcha bitterness and flavorings. The matcha soft serve here is also really good. read more
The family decided to take a trip to princeton and stopped by this tea shop. We ordered a salmon onigiri, iced strawberry chrysanthemum tea, and an iced lychee oolong tea with added almond jelly. The onigiri, although quite pricey, was delicious. The two tea drinks were very good with a strong tea flavor. The shop is spacious and has a pretty good variety of drinks. So much to love about this place. One visit to Junbi Princeton was all I needed to have a 10/10 time! I personally ordered the Dirty Matcha--which is essentially an iced Matcha latte with 2 shots of espresso. For any coffee lovers, I highly recommend this drink. Matcha & espresso are two strong flavors, but they just worked so well together. Junbi's matcha blend isn't too overwhelmingly sweet like other places, so it worked so well with the bitterness of the espresso. I'm looking forward to trying their other drinks, as well. My friends had ordered their other drinks (Strawberry Matcha Fresca, Yuzu Dragonfruit, Matcha Mango Fresca), and all had great things to say about their drinks. The matcha creme puff is an item that has newly been added to the menu. The topping/outside was essentially a Pineapple Bun (Bolo Bao) with the sweet, crumbly top. But the matcha creme made it THAT much better. I feared it'd be overwhelmingly sweet, but it was just perfect. The creme didn't overpower the sweetness of the bun itself, and I honestly cannot wait to go back and buy even more. To top it all off, the customer service at Junbi is absolutely amazing! The staff was so attentive to my/our questions & needs, and had a handful to say about anything I wasn't sure about on the menu. All were super friendly. I've visited Junbi multiple times since it opened the Princeton location. Process/efficiency: 5/5 You can place your order multiple ways (in-store kiosks, mobile order, in-person), and all of them are very fast! Drinks: 5/5 Junbi has a variety of drinks for everyone. There are drinks that are non-matcha as well if you are not a matcha drinker. And for those that are lactose intolerant, Junbi offered milk substitute. My go to orders are the following: 1. Cold strawberry matcha with milk (for the day I am craving something milky) 2. Cold Yuzu dragonfruit matcha (for the day I want something lighter) 3. Matcha soft serve (reasonably priced. Can add toppings of your choice. Very good soft serve) Decor/interior: 5/5 Junbi is a good spot for studying/work! There are many seats and good lighting in store. I was excited to try this place because I had started following them when they were still called Sip Matcha. If you're familiar with with JKFilms, I believe some of the team is part of the ownership! Their specialty is Matcha, but they also have regular teas, coffee, soft serve, and onigiri. I tried the Rose Water Matcha and Onigiri flight. My first impression of the drink was honestly underwhelming. As a matcha lover, I was hoping for a drink that was more matcha-forward, but in my opinion, the rose flavor dominated. Nonetheless, it was still a pleasant and sweet drink if you're into floral flavors. It wasn't too sweet, but for my personal preference I would get it 75% or 50% sweet. My friend tried a Lychee Oolong Tea (includes milk) and she seemed to like the flavor. It looked like it came with bits of lychee at the bottom, and my friend noted that it had a strong floral flavor. The boba was not too soft, not too hard, but nothing extraordinary. As for the onigiri, the flight comes with 3 different flavors: mentaiko, salmon, and spam&egg. Unfortunately, they were out of the spam flavor so we subbed with mentaiko. It came in a paper box, all individually wrapped with the seaweed on the side for self-assembly. The salmon and mentaiko had a bit of spice, which added a nice kick. I enjoyed the flavors of both and felt it wasn't just plain. Of the two, I enjoyed the salmon more because of its seasoning. Hopefully next time I'll get to try the spam and egg! Location - ideal location, nice interior design, very appealing but slight distasteful odor when you step inside Ordering - kiosks are a nice touch and makes ordering easy but when you want a printed receipt, you have to get it at the counter but no one is available to help at the counter. They're too swamped in back so I ended up just taking it myself. Products - Matcha drink was decent, slightly watery despite having less ice. Over heard they ran out of boba and had to cancel some orders after us. Boba in our drink needs to be cooked longer so not worth it. Soft serve ice cream flavor is good but it was not ready. There's a gritty texture to it and is mostly melted. Can tell it needs more churning or the mixture ratio is not right for the machine. Customer Service - No one is readily available to service anyone. We were sitting right in front of the cashier and saw our soft serve was done first but not brought to the counter for pickup when done. They let it sit there while they work on the other items in our order. When the drink and bakery item was done, they only brought to the pickup counter 2 out of the 3 items we ordered and lightly whispered our name (and still left the soft serve sitting there). I waited at the counter so that I can ask for my third item (the soft serve) and no one paid any attention to me. Finally one employee gave me my soft serve and I asked for another as it appeared melted especially since it was not served immediately upon making. When I asked for another because it appeared melted, the employee was not kind and said "that's how it's supposed to be" and went back and forth with me until they finally decided to make another one. They then brought both of them to the counter and said "they're the same so you can pick whichever you want." I understand these are students most likely working but a little sincerity and empathy goes a long way in any customer facing role. Also, no napkins anywhere. We had to grab parchment paper behind the register to use as you can tell in the picture. Overall, the experience was decent but not a place I would willingly go back to until operations is cleaned up a bit. read more

It was very easy to order from the kiosk so I didn't get to interact with staff much until they just had the drinks ready. Came here for the first time during covid times and had the yuzu dragon fruit matcha and my friend got the mango matcha. The spot itself is really cute and spacious - a great hangout spot. Given that they primarily sell teas and matcha, they also sell a handful accessories on the side including reusable straws, whisk, etc. They also had food on the menu which is a plus. The yuzu dragon fruit matcha drink itself was tasty and refreshing. I ordered as 50% sugar and less ice and thought it was a perfect level of sweetness. The fruit flavors were more prominent tasting than the matcha which I personally didn't mind. Will definitely be coming again! read more

NEW matcha boba shop in Princeton! I was very excited as there are not many boba shops around the area, and Junbi specializes in my fav--matcha! Personally I love matcha, and I will say that the matcha was not as rich and flavorful as I'd hope. But it was still smooth and blended well with the tea. Also the drinks are on the more pricey scale compared to other boba shops. Aside from these drinks being aesthetically pleasing the tapioca pearls itself were fresh and chewy which is always a great factor and I love how there is an assortment of milk options including nondairy for those who are lactose or vegan! Junbi's service and store interior exceeds the scale! Fast and friendly service with many seats and tables. Inside, you can order with a cashier or from the self ordering kiosk. Drove here from Philadelphia just to try this bubble tea place! The shop was a little crowded and had to wait around 10 minutes for my order, but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of the tea! I ordered the Jasmine milk tea and the matcha strawberry fresca. The jasmine milk tea was one of the best I have had! It had a strong jasmine floral flavor and the milk was not too heavy. The matcha strawberry fresca was really refreshing and you could taste both the matcha and strawberry which blended well together. I would recommend getting less sweet or half sweet! I definitely will come back and try the blueberry matcha. Highly recommend trying this place out if you are looking for something new! read more
I've come here so many times already and I will keep coming back! The matcha tastes so good (I typically get 0% sugar since I'm not into super sweet drinks) and they have a good variety of drinks. My go-tos every time I visit is either the straight-up matcha with aloe jelly or the dirty matcha (shot of espresso + matcha).
