I never really gave anything matcha a chance...until now. We happened to explore the grounds after eating nearby and saw this place. Super friendly and helpful service the afternoon we came, especially for our first time visit. My husband and I adore Charlie Brown & Friends, and Snoopy of course, so we appreciated the interior decor. We later found out they were doing a collab with the Peanuts Gang's Journey to Japan...too cute! Order up: - Strawberry Vanilla Latte (iced, and yay for double espresso) - Blended Chocolate Hazelnut Matcha (yum!) Perfect spot to end with dessert...there's always room! CHEERS and happy eating till next time...
I've been here 3 times in a week and half sooo what does that tell you. I'm currently obsessed with the hojicha latte with vanilla cold foam. I can't get enough of it. This place is cute, in a fun area, and the drinks are great. I'm going to keep coming back so thank you for your service Vanessa! You'll see me again and again. Highly recommend. Plus she now has a Monday-Thursday 3-6pm happy hour, each day with a different special.
Junbi is a pretty cool spot as the cottages. Went in the evening and parking was no issue. Got myself a vanilla matcha swirl. Easy to eat. Not too sweet. Came with a dust and I picked Matcha. Also comes with a topping and I got granola that was a bit stale. Overall decent experience. It's cash only fyi. There is a nice patio and outdoor area. Which is dog friendly confirmed by the staff.
Visited for an event. Parking was a bit challenging due to the limited park spaces, mostly curb parking. After walking in, I like the open space in front of the counter and there were a lot of seatings. Staff was very friendly. Girl at the counter helped us guide through the menu and was informative of each item. Ordered a matcha latte drink and some riceballs. Both drinks and riceballs were okay and unfortunately nothing very exciting. Would recommend to stop by and check out.
Ive seen this place around so I was excited to try their matcha but I was very disappointed. They had a big selection of matcha drinks but I thought I'd just go with the Cold Ganbaru Ceremonial Matcha to see how it was without a fruit flavor mixed in and it just tasted very watery/milky. I hardly tasted any matcha flavor. Not sure if it was an off day but for $6.75 I was expecting more than watery milk.
The whole place was completely empty on a Sunday afternoon around 4 pm so putting in my order and them making my drink was extremely quick. Just stopped by for a quick refreshing drink after having a heavy bbq lunch. Chose the Yuzu Dragonfruit Jasmine Green Tea ($7) which is usually a go-to for me. I get it "less sweet" IF you're trying to watch your sugar intake lol. The sweetness that comes from whatever yuzu concentrate they're using and dragonfruit blend/puree is enough sweetness for me! It was crisp and refreshing as a whole! I especially love sipping the top layer first of the brewed jasmine green tea before mixing it all together. They have seating inside as well as outside. Everything was open, bright, clean and inviting!
Finally got to try Junbi and wow talk about convenience of having a coffee/matcha spot next to a play area.. great place for a play date where parents can get their caffeine fix and kiddos can roam and play Love that they have a big variety menu and even have soft serve! Definitely my kind of jam.. staff here are all very nice.. got to try the new cold foam series and tried the strawberry cold foam matcha.. I have to say, it's just ok, perhaps it a new item.. I might opt for the strawberry matcha latte next time. Also got to try the dirty matcha which comes with 2 espresso shots definitely much needed. Is it the best matcha? So hard especially living in OC where the competition is high and has so many other good options but definitely a top spot for all around for space, convenience and variety Highly recommend
Yuzu dragonfruit jasmine tea - very refreshing, tad sour, would definitely get again especially on a hot day Matcha + Hojicha Latte - got it with coconut milk which was kind of overpowering so I'll stick to oat milk or regular Drinks are kinda expensive though and small for the price. At least we're really tasty though. Service was great and workers very friendly with recommendations
Junbi never misses! I tried the strawberry foam matcha and instead did my usual strawberry matcha latte with the strawberry puree. Both shine on their own, the strawberry foam makes the matcha much creamier and lighter in color. The puree has a stronger strawberry flavor but still can taste the matcha, it doesn't lighten up as much as the foam. Both tasty, it all depends on preference! Also did the drive up option this time around! Didn't seem too busy or loud inside. Staff is always kind and efficient, love coming here.
Stumbled into Junbi a few minutes before their 9pm closing like the chaotic caffeine goblins we are, and wow, what a glow-up!! The place is spotless and there's a self-order kiosk so you can pretend you're tech-savvy while aggressively craving matcha. Obviously we upgraded to ceremonial grade matcha because once you've tasted the fancy grass, there's no returning to peasant powder!! Ordered a classic matcha latte and a strawberry cold foam matcha latte, both living their best, bougie lives. And that first sip? Absolute flavor fireworks!!! Great spot for delicious ceremonial-grade matcha!!
This spot is located on a neighborhood street. It's really nice because they have a big outdoor area with tables, tents, and restaurants and shops. Parking is limited and so we had to park in the neighborhood and walk over. I had a voucher for a buy two get one free drink. I'm caffeine sensitive so I appreciate they had separate menu for non-caffeine! I ordered the guava refresher and it was definitely refreshing! I did get to try their matcha and it's delicious. They also have soft serve and rice balls. There's a kiosk you can order from or you can order from the register.
Yum yum yum! So happy Junbi opened here in Cottage Industries because the outside play area was always amazing but we needed a place for good drinks, desserts and snacks for both adults and kids. And now we can find all of that here! Service is always on-point - very friendly and attentive to the customers - and the aesthetics of the store is clean, bright and modern. Drinks: I love their guava matcha cold brew. This is my go-to and it is always delicious! I get with less ice and less sweet and I love it. Soft serve: - We get the vanilla soft serve for my son. It's very creamy and thick - a wonderful consistency! It comes with a topping and dusting so we get the granola and cocoa. - For adults, their matcha soft serve is so good! You can taste the quality of the matcha. Today we tried the Mango Mission matcha and I love that it's mango puree on it (not syrup) and the flavor goes so well together. It does melt super fast and drip all over the place so be ready to eat it right away when it's ready. Food: - Rice ball flight - I'm so thankful they have kid-friendly food here so I know we can go to Cottage Industries to play anytime and not worry about my son getting hungry. He loves salmon rice balls so this is perfect for us. It is filling enough when he's hungry from running around and I feel good about the nutrition he gets from salmon. I tried the mentaiko rice ball today in our flight and it's so good (my personal favorite)! They wrap the rice in plastic so the seaweed doesn't get soggy until you're ready to eat. - Dubai chewy cookie. I was trying to resist since they aren't cheap ($9 each) but finally caved since they look so delicious! Totally did not disappoint. So soft and chewy on the outside and crunchy inside. They are made in-house fresh daily - must try at least once!
I've visited this Junbi location a couple of times now; the staff is always nice and the place is kept clean. I really enjoy the outdoor patio here and it was especially fun visiting during their Peanuts event! I liked their hojicha hazelnut drink. Their matcha is good but not my favorite here so I often opt for the hojicha or something fruity instead. Parking can be tough depending on what time you go but since it's located in a neighborhood area there is sure to be sidestreet parking if you're willing to walk a bit.
While waiting for food at the smoke queen, I really needed a caffeinated drink so I came here hoping to get something quick. There wasn't a line but they had two touchpad kiosks and I was able to order a iced latte, I was taping more than a couple screens and had to enter my phone number but was trying to go fast! After ordering I had a bit trouble paying, my card wasn't reading properly but I was able to get it to work after a few swipes. It took only a few minutes for my drink to be ready! Very quick and there were others who ordered so I was not alone. The latte was delicious, nice coffee flavor and very creamy. On a hot day, this hit the spot! A bit pricey than my usual price range but convenient when I'm also waiting on smoke queen. read more

First time here and it was a great experience! Came with my boyfriend a bit after opening, so it was pretty empty. The cashier that helped us explained the menu to us. Unfortunately, they ran out of the peanut cups for their collab ): but the drinks are still available! No merch atm. There is seating inside, as well as outside. We got a hojicha hazelnut latte and a chocolate coffee latte. Both were really good! Drinks are on the sweeter side (which I personally didn't mind) but sweetness levels could be adjusted! We also ordered 1 spam and egg rice ball and 1 salmon rice ball. The seasoning on the spam and egg was delicious! Sometimes spam can be too salty, but this was pretty well balanced in my opinion. The salmon was also really good and well seasoned, not fishy at all. I really wanted to try the mentaiko and crab rice balls, but we were informed that they haven't found a good supplier. I was a little bummed, but understood. Hopefully they find one soon that's good and affordable. People started coming in shortly after we had arrived, so the food took a little while. Honestly, wasn't that bad of a wait in my opinion given that she was working alone. However, the cashier felt bad and offered us some soft serve as compensation for the wait. The soft serve was delicious, super creamy and soft with a good matcha flavor. Although it was my first time here, I enjoyed everything I got. The customer service was amazing. I had my bf go back in to get her name, so shoutout to Vanessa! With the summer heat, I definitely would recommend everyone give this place a try. read more
Stopped by this matcha spot after noticing it in the same area as Smoke Queen BBQ, and I'm so glad I did! When walking in the cashier mentioned they've been open for about a year and was super welcoming, even offering matcha samples before I ordered. The shop has a cute Peanuts-themed decor that gives it a fun, cozy vibe. I ordered the strawberry matcha and customized it with soy milk and less sweetness, and it turned out perfect. I also tried the soft serve ice cream, which was delicious and especially refreshing on a hot day. One thing I really appreciated was learning that all of their fruit flavors are made in-house using real fruit. However they didn't have almond milk, which was a little disappointing, but that definitely wouldn't stop me from coming back. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu! read more

Great and quick service, and I absolutely LOVE the strawberry matcha here. We were a bit hungry, so we also had a salmon rice onigiri - not big enough to share but definitely had great flavor to hold us over. The location might be a little hard to park, but once you're in it's easy to work/study here. Also the soft serve was very creamy and delicious, highly recommend to try out if you're in the area! read more
I ordered 3 rice balls,are were delicious. I also bought my son a coffee. Service was good,and super quick. The ambiance was bit quite and I truly enjoyed the variety of drinks. I will return with my family as Im sure the ambiance of patio will be nice for relaxing. My husband liked the spam and eggs roll the best. read more

Junbi is a tea house located within the Cottage Industries business park, known for its high-quality matcha drinks, lattes, and soft-serve ice cream! They also offer a variety of matcha-based beverages, including hot and cold options, and a unique selection of branded merch! We accidentally stumbled upon this hidden gem while dining at Smoke Queen Barbecue next door. I'm not a big fan of teas or matcha, so I was pleased to find a guava refresher on the menu (love all things guava). As I expected, it was extremely delicious and refreshing. My wife ordered the iced hojicha latte (has a toasty, nutty, and earthy flavor). Super creamy and flavorful. Service was quick! Staff made some really good recommendations- guava refresher with boba! The overall vibe was welcoming, calm, and thoughtfully designed. The outdoor patio was the perfect spot to chill and relax with the family. We even found a giant teepee which was unique and spacious to hangout with friends and family! We will definitely be back! read more

Cute spot that feels like a charming little house vibe. There's a nice outdoor area that's family friendly with plenty of tables and spots to sit, and for kids to play in. They have a little sand pit, shaded tent seating areas and so forth. Theres a few other places to eat and shop within the same area. The guava refresher was perfect for a warm sunny day. Did half sweet and it was exactly what I needed. Refreshing and cooling it was delicious. The drink itself came out fairly quickly too! Street parked when I went and it wasn't too far of a walk or difficult to find parking. read more
I've been wanting to try this spot since they have opened. Junbi is known for their matcha drinks but they have other teas, smoothies, coffees, soft serve, and even some treats. I love that they have a wide variety of options on their menu. While a family outing we all got drinks here. I really wanted to try their guava matcha but they were unfortunately out. I went with their popular strawberry matcha. You get the option of ceremonial matcha for an additional cost. You can also make your drinks less sweet as well. I tried the vanilla cold foam matcha and that was probably my favorite out of all the drinks I have had here. I would like to come back and try their cookies. The staff is really nice and drinks are made pretty quick. I like that instead of ordering at the counter they also have two kiosks to order as well. The inside is cute and there are some tables and chairs to sit at. They also have a cute patio area of their own to enjoy your drink. It's located where Smoke Queen is and parking can get crowded on the weekends and busy times. But worth checking out if you're looking for a drink. read more
Junbi GG is my current obsession! It's so close to my work thankfully, so I've been frequenting this place. Vanessa is a cool owner! She told me about the public service worker discount, and teachers qualify :) I LOVE their delicious salmon and snow crab rice balls! I always crave more after I'm done. I had the following fan-favorite drinks, and they're all great and refreshing! -Madagascar Vanilla Matcha Latte -Vanilla milk with almond jelly (non-caffeinated) -Strawberry Chrysanthemum tea (non-caffeinated) I also tried their matcha vanilla swirl soft serve with hojicha powder. Yum! I love the music they play and cute, bright interior. It's located at Cottage Industries, which is a clean, friendly, and fun area. read more
9/10 for this trip! Lavender Blueberry matcha was my absolute favorite. Currently a seasonal drink but hopefully I can get it again before it's gone! Drinks are customizable; I think that the "normal" recipes are not overly sweet which is a plus for me and if you decide on a flavored beverage option they all complement the matcha very well. I love matcha soft serve too, and the vanilla matcha swirl is definitely best of both worlds with an optional topping to get as well. It will melt fast so enjoy it to the fullest! (Opinion : if you have a sensitive palette when it comes to food/desserts this specific soft serve combo, although incredibly delicious, may give off a slight aftertaste). Quality of matcha is incomparable. First came here from a yelp event and continued to visit with all friends and family because this is genuinely an amazing spot for all things matcha. Incredible variety of flavors for matcha, tea and other drinks. More so they have foodie and treat options to choose from too. I've enjoyed a rice ball from time to time :) Service has been excellent each time I come here, plus kiosk makes ordering easier when it's a little busier here. Aesthetic is very calming and joyful- great spot where everyone from friends and families of all ages can enjoy! read more

Fairly good mango matcha. I would have preferred the mango flavor to be stronger. It just tasted like a sugary syrup with the lightest hint of mango. Junbi Matcha & Tea is a chain of cafes specializing in matcha drinks. The name means "preparation" in Japanese. The brand is based in California. This store is located in the Cottage Industries business incubator park. It offers coffee and tea drinks, as well as soft serve ice cream creations. I stepped into this shop after lunch at Smoke Queen. I asked the lady behind the counter if she could recommend something refreshing and palate cleansing. She helpful in making a couple of recommendations. Per signage, this store recently opened. It is clean and tidy. The staff was helpful. I imagine this a good shop for beverages or snacks if visiting the park and retailers here. read more

This place was ok, but a bit disappointed. We are out of state visiting and I saw their menu highlights black sesame and purple sweet potato drinks. WOW! My favorite flavors! We arrive ... and they don't have it. Huge bummer. They said it's seasonal and they didn't update the online menu. I went with a yuzu drink. It is ok. The quality is good. It's just so disappointing driving very far for the items you want to be gone. The staff was super friendly and it's a very clean place! We would come back I suppose just be aware they might change it up on you. read more

Everything here was very tasty but the wait was extremely long. When I came there was only one server taking the orders and making the food and drinks. For one person she was doing a great job but I still had to wait about 40 minutes from when I first arrived After I got my drinks and food I really enjoyed it all. I got the strawberry matcha and it had a nice deep flavor without being overly sweet. I couldn't try the rice roll since it had sesame but my friend really liked it. Their soft serve was very nice and creamy. I want to try the matcha one next time. The seating area is very nice and cute. They have an inside and outside seats. read more
I was nearby having dinner at Smoke Queen and saw this place on the way in and I was interested. There was a lot of matcha which is not for me but they had some other interesting drinks. On their kiosk, I ordered the Yuzu Dragon Fruit Jasmine Tea. There was a strong citrus flavor which overpowered the drink but it was actually really good. Especially after the ice melted. Everyone there was so friendly. They have an interesting drink menu. I'll be back to try more!!! read more

Super cute spot next to Smoke Queen, so had to get a matcha. Got the galaxy special, which was with ube and black sesame and it was good. Wish it had more ube and sesame flavor, but solid. Boyfriend got the hibiscus tea, which was really nice. Will be back when we come back for smoke queen. read more
I've never had a matcha latte with coconut milk before and I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious it was!! They have other milk options, but I was curious with coconut milk. The matcha ice cream had the perfect thickness to it and was not too sweet. :) Service was top notch. The owner was personable and talked to us about how she started her cafe. I initially received the wrong order and she immediately made it right, in the most professional way. Adorable aesthetic inside the cafe. The cafe leads to other restaurants / stores through the back door with a cute hang out area. read more

This review is solely for the Matcha drink: Upon reading the reviews of the matcha here, I figured it was going to be a hit or miss. I don't tend to go for really sweet or fruity drinks, so I decided to go with what seems to be a default drink here, the Madagascar Vanilla Matcha. Someone in a previous review mentioned that it tasted very milky, so I modified mine in hopes of preventing that. I switched out regular milk for soy milk AND added an extra shot of matcha. Both of these mods were charged for, so I paid over $9 for this one drink!! The matcha was STILL very weak and flat. It was honestly very disappointing. The cashier was very nice, she mentioned they did not have the Ceremonial matcha at the time, which tends to be the most flavorful. Maybe that was the issue? Junbi is a super cute shop with genuinely good drinks and unexpectedly great cookies from Bake. The dragonfruit yuzu jasmine tea was light and refreshing. I got it less sweet to be safe, and it was good. Next time, I think I'd go a touch sweeter. Now, about that cookie. I'm not a cookie person. Crumbl, in my humble opinion, is underbaked sugary garbage and frankly feels like a social experiment to see who will pay $7 to eat raw dough with frosting and say its delicious for social media clout. So when the cashier pitched me a $4 ube crinkle cookie from Bake, I was skeptical. But she was so sweet and charming, like, "sell water to a fish" charming, and said even cookie-skeptics love it. I caved. And oh my glob, she was right. It was soft, slightly dense in a cake-like way without crossing the line into actual cake territory, with a great crumb. Yes, it's sweet. It's a cookie. But it's a damn good one. And it's the only place in California where you can get this Vegas-born treat. I'd absolutely come back for the drinks. And, against all odds, probably for another cookie too. read more

Weekend regular at the Irvine location but had no idea about the the Garden Grove location. Only found out about this location when eating at Queen BBQ so I had to visit. Seems fairly new, ambiance is a study/chill-out vibe. It's nice that they have indoor and dedicated outdoor seating. Quick note on the environment, it's a small Rodeo 39 feel with several retail stores that include the Queen BBQ(main restraurant ) so keep in mind of parking as it's quite small and within a local neighborhood but at the same time very family-friendly! We ordered the Dirty Matcha Latte, Hojicha Latte with Matcha Shot and Espresso Affogato with chocolate bits and boba. It's 100% guaranteed that we'll be enjoying our order. There hasn't been a single moment where we didnt but my favorite is the soft serve ice cream. I don't like boba at all and I know it's common for most milk tea drinks but paired with the soft serve ice cream and espresso...Junbi caught my attention. It's been my go-to after having a nice meal. Overall Now that we know there's a Junbi in Garden Grove, I think we'll be frequently visiting this location compared to the Irvine spot (unless we're in Irvine lol) but I can't stress this enough. If you're a Matcha lover and enjoy the different fusions you can incorporate matcha. Junbi is the place to visit. The soft serve is a MUST especially after having lunch or a big dinner. I came to this café twice. The first time was when they had just opened at Cottage Industry in Garden Grove, and at that time they didn't have BT21 yet. Inside, the shop is decorated in a cute, colorful, youthful style. The outdoor patio connects to the shared garden area of Cottage Industry, giving more places to sit and a really nice atmosphere -- great for taking photos for social. Today I ordered a hot matcha. Their matcha is actually good. I also ordered that BT21 matcha drink -- the one with black sesame and purple sweet potato. I changed it to soy milk and asked for zero sweetness. It still came with a bit of natural sweetness, maybe from the sesame or the sweet potato, and it was tasty with a nice sesame aroma. The hot pure matcha is always good. The staff are friendly and fixed my drink for me too, because at first I ordered pure matcha -- I wanted to taste the umami of their matcha -- but it came sweetened. So if you don't drink sweet, don't forget to mention it. They remade it and I got to try the real matcha, which was nice. For the price, it's around 7-9 dollars per cup. Changing the milk costs extra like most places. read more
Review 90/365 Day Challenge Was estatic to here that there was a Junbi that just opened up in the Cottages, Garden Grove, OC My 1st time visiting a Junbi was the Rowland Heights location. I've been following Junbi for quite some time. I love Matcha drinks especially great quality matcha that has been sourced from a good place. So Cheers to the new Junbi located at the Cottage industries. What we ordered ~ Cold Strawberry Matcha Latte. Drinks aren't overly sweeten. Love the taste of the matcha & strawberry combo. ~ Matcha latte is simple yet so good. Matcha isn't strong and subtle. Another highly recommended drink if you're a matcha lover. BOBA is yummy, chewy goodness & perfection. I took my little family there to grab drinks before going to shop @ the Outlets of Orange. Isn't too far, about 3 miles away. Associate was all so friendly especially the young guy owner, i forgot to get his name. He's really nice & talkative. Very informing and recommending what drinks he likes. received our drinks in a timely manner. Boba shop was cute & simple decor. Very minimal. Loved the concept. Parking is street parking so a bit hard to find but if you're patient enough. I'll definitely be back here in the future. read more
A nice little spot nestled in the Cottage Industries in Garden Grove. Jumbo had nice ambiance and friendly staff. I had the mango refresher and it was pretty good. Nothing amazing or mind blowing and I think it was overpriced, but a decent spot to check out if you're hanging out in the Cottage Industries seating areas. read more
