There wasn't a line but they had two touchpad kiosks and I was able to order a iced latte, I was taping more than a couple screens and had to enter my phone number but was trying to go fast! After ordering I had a bit trouble paying, my card wasn't reading properly but I was able to get it to work after a few swipes. It took only a few minutes for my drink to be ready! Very quick and there were others who ordered so I was not alone. The latte was delicious, nice coffee flavor and very creamy. On a hot day, this hit the spot! First time here and it was a great experience! Came with my boyfriend a bit after opening, so it was pretty empty. The cashier that helped us explained the menu to us. Unfortunately, they ran out of the peanut cups for their collab ): but the drinks are still available! No merch atm. There is seating inside, as well as outside. We got a hojicha hazelnut latte and a chocolate coffee latte. Both were really good! Drinks are on the sweeter side (which I personally didn't mind) but sweetness levels could be adjusted! We also ordered 1 spam and egg rice ball and 1 salmon rice ball. The seasoning on the spam and egg was delicious! Sometimes spam can be too salty, but this was pretty well balanced in my opinion. The salmon was also really good and well seasoned, not fishy at all. I really wanted to try the mentaiko and crab rice balls, but we were informed that they haven't found a good supplier. I was a little bummed, but understood. Hopefully they find one soon that's good and affordable. People started coming in shortly after we had arrived, so the food took a little while. Honestly, wasn't that bad of a wait in my opinion given that she was working alone. However, the cashier felt bad and offered us some soft serve as compensation for the wait. Stopped by this matcha spot after noticing it in the same area as Smoke Queen BBQ, and I'm so glad I did! When walking in the cashier mentioned they've been open for about a year and was super welcoming, even offering matcha samples before I ordered. The shop has a cute Peanuts-themed decor that gives it a fun, cozy vibe. I ordered the strawberry matcha and customized it with soy milk and less sweetness, and it turned out perfect. I also tried the soft serve ice cream, which was delicious and especially refreshing on a hot day. One thing I really appreciated was learning that all of their fruit flavors are made in-house using real fruit. Junbi never misses! I tried the strawberry foam matcha and instead did my usual strawberry matcha latte with the strawberry puree. Both shine on their own, the strawberry foam makes the matcha much creamier and lighter in color. This review is solely for the Matcha drink: Upon reading the reviews of the matcha here, I figured it was going to be a hit or miss. I don't tend to go for really sweet or fruity drinks, so I decided to go with what seems to be a default drink here, the Madagascar Vanilla Matcha. Someone in a previous review mentioned that it tasted very milky, so I modified mine in hopes of preventing that. I switched out regular milk for soy milk AND added an extra shot of matcha. Both of these mods were charged for, so I paid over $9 for this one drink!! The matcha was STILL very weak and flat. It was honestly very disappointing. The cashier was very nice, she mentioned they did not have the Ceremonial matcha at the time, which tends to be the most flavorful. Maybe that was the issue? 9/10 for this trip! Lavender Blueberry matcha was my absolute favorite. Currently a seasonal drink but hopefully I can get it again before it's gone! Drinks are customizable; I think that the "normal" recipes are not overly sweet which is a plus for me and if you decide on a flavored beverage option they all complement the matcha very well. I love matcha soft serve too, and the vanilla matcha swirl is definitely best of both worlds with an optional topping to get as well. It will melt fast so enjoy it to the fullest! (Opinion : if you have a sensitive palette when it comes to food/desserts this specific soft serve combo, although incredibly delicious, may give off a slight aftertaste). I went with their popular strawberry matcha. You get the option of ceremonial matcha for an additional cost. You can also make your drinks less sweet as well. I tried the vanilla cold foam matcha and that was probably my favorite out of all the drinks I have had here. I would like to come back and try their cookies. Everything here was very tasty but the wait was extremely long. When I came there was only one server taking the orders and making the food and drinks. For one person she was doing a great job but I still had to wait about 40 minutes from when I first arrived After I got my drinks and food I really enjoyed it all. Crumbl, in my humble opinion, is underbaked sugary garbage and frankly feels like a social experiment to see who will pay $7 to eat raw dough with frosting and say its delicious for social media clout. So when the cashier pitched me a $4 ube crinkle cookie from Bake, I was skeptical. But she was so sweet and charming, like, "sell water to a fish" charming, and said even cookie-skeptics love it. I caved. And oh my glob, she was right. It was soft, slightly dense in a cake-like way without crossing the line into actual cake territory, with a great crumb. Yes, it's sweet. It's a cookie. But it's a damn good one. And it's the only place in California where you can get this Vegas-born treat. I'd absolutely come back for the drinks. Weekend regular at the Irvine location but had no idea about the the Garden Grove location. Only found out about this location when eating at Queen BBQ so I had to visit. Seems fairly new, ambiance is a study/chill-out vibe. It's nice that they have indoor and dedicated outdoor seating. Quick note on the environment, it's a small Rodeo 39 feel with several retail stores that include the Queen BBQ(main restraurant ) so keep in mind of parking as it's quite small and within a local neighborhood but at the same time very family-friendly! We ordered the Dirty Matcha Latte, Hojicha Latte with Matcha Shot and Espresso Affogato with chocolate bits and boba. It's 100% guaranteed that we'll be enjoying our order. There hasn't been a single moment where we didnt but my favorite is the soft serve ice cream. I don't like boba at all and I know it's common for most milk tea drinks but paired with the soft serve ice cream and espresso...Junbi caught my attention. It's been my go-to after having a nice meal. Overall Now that we know there's a Junbi in Garden Grove, I think we'll be frequently visiting this location compared to the Irvine spot (unless we're in Irvine lol) but I can't stress this enough. As for the matcha itself I thought it was pretty tasty. Nice natural vanilla flavor, but I do wish the flavor was a bit strong, stronger and more full-bodied considering this store specializes in matcha and also happens to be a Matcha brand. Inside, the shop is decorated in a cute, colorful, youthful style. The outdoor patio connects to the shared garden area of Cottage Industry, giving more places to sit and a really nice atmosphere -- great for taking photos for social. Today I ordered a hot matcha. Their matcha is actually good. I also ordered that BT21 matcha drink -- the one with black sesame and purple sweet potato. I changed it to soy milk and asked for zero sweetness. It still came with a bit of natural sweetness, maybe from the sesame or the sweet potato, and it was tasty with a nice sesame aroma. The hot pure matcha is always good. The staff are friendly and fixed my drink for me too, because at first I ordered pure matcha -- I wanted to taste the umami of their matcha -- but it came sweetened. So if you don't drink sweet, don't forget to mention it. They remade it and I got to try the real matcha, which was nice. For the price, it's around 7-9 dollars per cup.
