Fun spot to burn off some energy…read more Randomly have stopped by a few times midweek...when it is far less crowded and grabbed a Groupon to make it more affordable and for that price it's not bad at all. Sure certain areas are closed at certain times but while we are usually there they eventually open them up. Not had any issues. A lot of the equipment you can tell has been used pretty good, but just like with anything still should watch your littles at all times. I would try to avoid weekends if possible. Lots of parking. They have dot ice cream that isn't dippin but still good...so bonus!

This place is awesome, but it's fallen into disrepair. My kids had a great time and we spent close…read moreto 4 hours here, but I have some real issues. The good: - Once your kids get the hang of the self-latch system, they'll be able to climb safely without close supervision. - There are lots and lots of climbing walls and some have unique features. It's very entertaining for climbers over 48". - They have a drinking fountain. - They have hand sanitizer dispensers. The bad: - Many areas were shut down. We couldn't do the ninja course because "something is leaking from the ceiling" in one of the areas. Some features on the climbing walls (like the wheel you turn to bring a trapeze thing closer to a ledge) are broken. - They are severely understaffed. When we visited on Monday, Aug. 11, the ropes course was only open for a few minutes, as was the wall-hang slide. Because those areas require employees and there weren't enough people to work them, they were closed off for the bulk of our visit. - It's a bit expensive. I feel like I'd pay the $30 per kid if they had access to everything, but between the broken attraction and the areas shut down because of staffing issues, the price felt steep. - There's not a lot of seating available if you're a parent who just wants to watch. There are a few benches, but you can't see large sections of Funtopia when you're sitting there. I was hoping to do some work on my laptop, but there were no tables near the benches. - If you leave, you cannot re-enter once you leave the building, so hunger may become an issue as outside food is not allowed. I'd love to come back here with my kids, but I hope they have enough staff to keep all the attractions running and I hope they fix the "something leaking" on the ninja course. I got the sense that this was a place run by teenagers and the owners may be absent or uninvolved.

My kids love the giant ball pit. I think they have 4 birthday party rooms. When I recently attended for a birthday party, the employees seemed very helpful. They also have a little dance floor where they celebrate the birthdays. I did like that I didn't have to sign a waiver again the 2nd time and that they're kept on file.

The place has so much potential, but unfortunately both 3 year old birthday parties that we attended in the winter were enough for us.. The first time we were there 2 children were separated from our party and got out of the play area without an adult. How are 2 and 3 year olds getting to the front past those workers and security guards? Unacceptable. Maybe get rid of that party room and crack down on the safety of the children as opposed to making extra party money. Ohhh and both times were there the floors were absolutely disgusting. People wear the booties in the bathroom yet somehow water and whatever else is tracked out of there across the floor mats. I'm not sure how this problem could be addressed- but ewwww. The party service was HORRENDOUS (both times). The party before us not leaving in a timely manner, slow service (literally the worker slowly handing out utensils and pizza one at a time even though the pizza was already super late), not even cracking a smile or acknowledging anyone in a friendly manner , and then every kid literally having one single napkin with the rest locked up. ‍

Good place to explore with children in Aurora. It turns out to be a bigger place than it looks…read more Phillips Park Zoo is the highlight of this big public park and one of the best things about the city as well. Best thing is there's no admission price. This makes it even more worth it for looking around once, and you can come back as often as you want if planning to come more times. Even though it's kind of small, it feels there's a lot inside and you can be here awhile. It's got an interesting history. The beginnings of the zoo started when it was established in 1915, and a birdhouse was built the next year. Over the following few years the animal collection grew. There were birds, black bears, buffalo, deer, elk, foxes, monkeys, and wolves. In 1933 the birdhouse was destroyed in a hailstorm, and the following year the Brookfield Zoo opened. They chose to refocus on native animals after this. A few years after this, mastodon bones and tusks were found in the park. These were put on display in the zoo. In 1950 a barn was built. The following years included the addition of a water wheel. Farm animals such as goats, as well as birds like swans have their exhibits around these. The more recent additions include cougars, as well as improvements to exhibits for reptiles and wolves. Also the zoo has a few resources for education. The ZooCiety has various activities and programs. Have to say it's a good zoo for the city. It's located in the middle of the park. This is particularly a good one for young children, but it's open for everyone, so it's also okay for adults or whoever.

Admission is free. Parking is free and has more than adequate space available. The zoo is closed on Wednesdays. During the summer months, the hours are extended until 5 pm. Fall-Spring, the zoo is closed at 4 pm. Besides the zoo, they have a visitor center, sunken garden, veterans waterfall, etc. Inside the visitor center, they have mastodon bones along with information to read. They also have bathrooms that are clean and well kept.
