This is a coffee shop that I used to frequent in high school! It's basically exactly the way I remember it. Not a lot has changed over the years and I even was able to order one of my old favorites off their "crunch coffee" menu - the Coffee Toffee! I do notice they have dairy free milk alternatives now which is amazing! They have nice booths to sit with friends to chat or even bring some books/laptop to study. Pricing is relatively cheap as well. Two private bathrooms in the back hallway. Street parking available! read more

This is my Saturday and Sunday morning go-to coffee shop! At first I wasn't sold on this place, because I didn't think the atmosphere was cozy enough. The more I went, the more I fell in love. They have a very friendly staff, they are quick, and there are always people inside! It is an awesome place to do work, set up your laptop, and study. I think its cool to see the crowd change as the season changes, and now they even have a smoothie shop outside for the tourist season! They have delicious coffees, sandwiches, fruit, and baked goods. The turtle muffin is so good, and the white chocolate raspberry scones are so incredibly good. I really enjoy this place, and my dog even knows that when we go, she gets a doggie bagel! Jumpin Java is the younger kid hangout in downtown Grand Haven. You'll bump into skateboarders, and high school/college students, but I don't necessarily mind that because they're generally harmless. it's surprisingly quiet, mostly because they have tall partitions between the booths, which give you privacy for working. The coffee itself is not premium and it's not outstanding, but it's not bad either. I guess the best way to say it is: "It'll do." They offer sandwiches and sweets and oatmeal and fruit, which is convenient in downtown Grand Haven. I'd rather give them a 1 1/2 Rating based on the environment, because the building is uncomfortable and the atmosphere is weird, but I can't give half-stars here on Yelp. For example: for several weeks last the summer the air conditioning was broke and instead of fixing it they opened the front doors. It was like a steam bath in there. Also, the ice machine frequently broke before the owner finally got it addressed. I don't know that the owner really wants to put in the effort to make this place more appealing to business people and more mature clients, but maybe that's not a terrible thing. It's big, no carpeting, a lot of seating (which is good, though it was pretty empty when I was there), but it just feels like this big, cold, cavernous place. A cute little coffee shop in the heart of Grand Haven. Great customer service! I asked for a almond milk latte with honey in the espresso. They didn't have honey in a bottle but they did have honey packets and they made that work :) the women's bathroom so out of order currently but the men's bathroom is gender neutral anyways. The only have 1 size for their iced coffees. The iced drink we got was very good! we will stop by the next time we are in town! read more

In a recent three-day trip to Grand Haven, my friend and I ended up here each day. Every time we got an iced coffee (not cold-brewed, but still good!) and played Mancala in the game corner. Not much to say about this coffee shop, other than it does a good job at offering a place to work (plenty of people with their laptops or holding meetings) as well as a place to socialize. The coffee is ridiculously cheap (half the price of Starbucks, about!). We did get hungry and order one of their paninis -- unfortunately the paninis were a little light on the meat and cheese. I had a pretty gross iced latte here today. This place definitely doesn't offer super high quality espresso. If you enjoy Starbucks or BIGGBY, this is not like that! I managed to drink about a third of my drink which was a disappointment. Giving 3 stars because we didn't try other things they offer so I am not comfortable going lower. read more

Music is a little loud in the pm for my tastes but some people might like it. Sorry to say, but this used to be my favorite place to get a coffee and Muffin (Boston Creme). But I went to do my payroll and have my muffin and coffee on 12/9/16. When I asked if they had any BC muffins the worker said "I don't think we have those anymore, we switched where we get those now". I was instantly disappointed. But I still decided to have a muffin. I chose the raspberry cream cheese. But i cannot tell you how unhappy i was. It was dry and hardly had any of the cream cheese filling. It was so bad I had to tell the cashier before I left how unhappy I was. (Not my normal style) I hope enough people complain to get the old muffins back. Otherwise I will have to start heading to Brooklyn Bagel to get my muffin and coffee. read more

A good little coffee shop in Grand Haven. The drinks were great, and there's lots of pastries and cookies and whatnot. The outdoor seating on the main street is nice for people watching and easing into your day. Walk over to Hostetter's first to get a paper or magazine, then go to Jumpin' Java for your coffee. My girlfriend and I are avid coffee drinkers and heard jumping java was the best place in town. When we walked in the atmosphere was very nice and roomy. A great place to relax and drink some joe. The employees were kind and very helpful. But the best part of all was the coffee. My girlfriend got a iced vanilla late and I got the java chill with a cheesecake muffin.
