My 2 kids have been going to jump and schout for 3 years now. They do physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy. I can't say enough amazing things about their therapist and how much they've helped my kids. It's a very well ran establishment with great therapist who truly want to make a difference in the lives of kids they work with. I recommend them to anybody I know who needs therapy for their children. read more

Feels like a scam. Was referred to OT by our doctor, came here and they did an evaluation. Filled out basic 'CA compliant' paperwork but the reason why my child was being seen wasnt the focus of the appointment. Then was told it would take her two weeks to fill out paperwork and hear back if my child qualified. Well I never heard back. They took my money and ran with it. I've called since and left a message requesting an update and I'm not shocked that I didn't receive a call back. Don't waste your time (or money) going here. I don't think they have children's best interest at heart to serve and help what children may need support in. read more

I got recommended by my dr since I moved cities. Personally took in the only referral i had then,they took my information asked when i would be available i said "honestly just give me a time and date and ill be here." The lady ended up telling great then you'll get a call quick since your available and said she would give it to the person in charge of the schedule. That was around April something 2023 waited weeks. So then may i ended calling again to get the answer of oh shes out she'll be back in a couple days so once again gave it a whole month. JUNE CAME AROUND once again i called and ended up telling ok we were about to call you just wanted to let you know if you insurance will qualify and we'll get back to you. Once again JULY and said oh we will call you back and let you know how its going. So let me tell you how it ended AUGUST CAME TO END UP TELLING ME MY SON DOESNT QUALIFY UNLESS HE GETS IN A REALLY BAD ACCIDENT AND NEEDS PHYSICAL AND SPEACH THERAPY . They made me wait 4 MONTHS TO TELL ME NO.. so recommend you to stick to one your insurance qualifies and if you have to drive far do cause you will save yourself a headache.... read more

My son attended this location for occupational therapy for over one year. Right off the bat we had some issues with scheduling an initial appointment, as I was repeatedly informed that the OT scheduler would get back to me, she was not in the office, or she was on vacation. It took almost two months of me calling to finally get an appointment. Once services started, the therapists we had were very nice. However, there was no consistency in treatment or approach for feeding issues. We had a total of 4 therapists that I can recall. My son would warm up to one and then they'd leave the company for whatever reason and we'd have to start again with a new therapist. They each approached the issue very differently and I didn't see much progress. They also seemed to strongly oppose any parent involvement in the sessions. I understand that this approach might work for some children. However, my child was a lot more rigid at that time and had a difficult time generalizing any work he did with his therapist when working with me at home. As someone who worked as an ABA therapist for many years in the past, I know how important parent involvement is in order to help children generalize the skills they learn; I didn't understand why parents were not more encouraged or welcomed to be involved in some of the sessions. By the end of our time, my son was growing even more resistant to trying foods and participating in the sessions. I decided to take a break from OT. We are now at a new agency and have seen a vast difference in approach, employee retention, and parent involvement. I thought my son wasn't a good fit for OT but I really just had to find an agency with a consistent and effective approach to address feeding issues. read more

My daughter Dawn attended Jump & Schout for a little over 4 years. She had Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy services authorized through EasterSeals via Kaiser. All of which were services at J&S at one point. Nicole was Dawn's first physical therapist here, and did great with Dawn/ helped her achieve important benchmarks she needed at the time. She was patient and thorough with her structure with her and this helped her reach her goals quickly. Speech, well, initially my experience with Alicia (2019) and Speech Supervisor, Katie, was really great. Alicia had creative and productive ways of keeping Dawn's attention and interest and knew how to work with behaviors that arose (my daughter is on the autism spectrum, ADHD, and SPD) Katie worked closely with me on goals I wanted for my daughter and listened to the reasons why, she allowed me to be a part of what was being addressed. However, shortly after Alicia, and Katie left... my daughter's speech therapies at J&S started becoming frustrating, disappointing, and felt there was no direct communication with me in regards to reports sent to ES / Kaiser for authorization, let alone that behaviors were a concern they would bring up to ES and therefore Kaiser, so my daughter's services became compromised. I was not happy about this, especially because I am very involved in her development. I also did not like the speech methods they used, that weren't adaptable to Dawn's interest. Eventually I had to advocate to sustain my daughter's speech services through easterseals, and decided I would search for a facility that would allow me to be involved in her sessions, goals, assessments and would listen to my input. It turns out, she had Hyperlexia and was a Gestalt Language Learner-- she blossomed in her speech at another facility. But we had to leave J&S. Occupational therapy was the best of our experience here though. Angela has always been a fantastic occupational therapist. Very much 'for the child' type of therapist, she's dedicated to learning about the child and how to work with them, patient, great attitude, light hearted and just all around focused on the child's best interest. My daughter showed significant progress in fine motor skills, self help/ adaptive skills, and regulation. Angela was great about stricture with her too! Jarae was another therapist that did fantastic with Dawn, and cared to hear about my input on where Dawn was in her self help- adaptive skills, she created goals that were not only appropriate for Dawn but considerate of my information to her. Stacey and the last receptionist / admin at J&S were also great. Very personable , friendly, and make you feel like family. Overall-- I'd recommend giving J&S a try if you can get in. Jump And Schout is a wonderful place to take kids for development and to bring the best in them. My son started going to Jump And Schout for his Speech Therapy last year. His Therapist name is Melinda. She is so amazing, she taught my son very well and she's one of the reasons why my son speaks so many words now. Melinda told us today that the result of my son's assessment was really good and no need to extend his therapy. I was so happy to hear that his last session will be next month at the same time I felt so sad because I know that my son will miss her. She's not just a therapist to my son but also like a big sister who really cares and a great playmate too. Horrible service I called to make an appointment I have ppo they say I need a referral I get one. I go to the appointment the same lady who took my info from the phone call and ask me to get a referral didn't save my appointment and looked at her paper work and said I was about to call you since she received the referral. That's same day took them a while to attend me and my son which was annoying they were talking among themselves until I said something. After my son does the testing they will call me back schedule and the other lady for occupational therapy will call still haven't heard from them this was since early May. Horrible customer service. After I was referred from a friend that this was her friends business they are good was by far disappointed just want to get help for my son. read more

They are amazing! We have gone here for 3 years. I tried several other places and Jump & Schout is by far the best. It's clean, bright, the SLP, SLPAs and OTs are wonderful and caring. They actually care about each child and it's not about the money or processing them all through like several other places in the area. My daughter went here basically non-verbal at 5...and is 8 and doing so much better with speech. People understand her. OT has been a lifesaver as well for sensory integration and also teaching her self regulation which in turn allows her to focus and attend and behave better. They have a natural light gym, beautiful and clean facility. read more

This business is very unprofessional. We have been taking our grandson here for almost 2 years. In the beginning we had a great occupational therapist but she resigned. We then got a new therapist that was good but did not listen to our concerns like the previous one did. Since then we have started physical therapy and between the two have gone through 7 therapists. Why do the employees keep leaving the company? Maybe because they have the same issues that the patients do? We have been lied to on multiple occasions by the therapists as well as the office staff and owner. They complain about my grandsons attendance when they were told from the first day that he has multiple medical conditions that may cause him to miss sessions. They do not offer him make up sessions because his therapist only work one day a week and have no open appointments on that day. That should not go against us when they cannot do a make up yet they threaten to drop him due to attendance! Most recently, the therapist forced him to do a task that he did not want to do and for a very good reason and caused him to break down and cry when he got home. She even told him that she was disappointed in him! That is not acceptable to say to a child with autism. They also question him about things they have no business asking him. He has so much anxiety about going here that we are forced to move him to a different company. This business is very unprofessional and now will not return our phone calls so we can discuss our concerns with them, even the owner is not helpful or returning our calls. read more
