This salon is a staple in Roger's Park. I've been going here for 5+ years for eyebrow threading/upper lip waxing. Let's be honest, no other place can beat their $3 eyebrow threading. All the women working there are always so kind and welcoming! I wouldn't say I have a main eyebrow lady bc I've had multiple do mine and I can honestly say that they all do a bomb job. It's nice walking in knowing that I will be taken care of properly (especially since I care so much about my eyebrows). And they just recently renovated the salon! For a $3 eyebrow threading, couldn't have asked for more. While the lady working on me took a bit longer than I'm used to with the thread, and pulled out the tweezers a little early, the final result looks natural and just my style. Just a clean up, not too thin, and I usually end up with good results! Cash only, and breaking large bills might be a problem, but worth the ease. Street parking available on main street and two side roads, bank with ATM across the street. read more

I have been going to Julie for about 2 years now, and now that I'm leaving Chicago, I don't have to keep my golden secret hidden anymore. Her cuts are incredible. And for a guy, I have a real hard time finding people who give me good cuts. I have a wave in my hair that makes it hard for most people to cut very well. Julie pointed it out how she would tackle the wave before I even had the chance to ask her about it. My hair has turned out excellently every single time I've gone to her. And she's very frank about what cuts will look good and what won't, although I did talk her into cutting my hair shorter than she recommended, and that cut was amazing as well. On top of all this, her men's haircuts are only $10! That's right, $10! Her cuts don't look anything like a $10 cut. They're better than when I was going to a $85 master stylist, no joke. She is very detailed and even uses a straightedge razor to straighten out the lines. Just incredible for a $10 cut. I never got that at the salon. The only thing is that weekends are very busy and it's hard to get a walk in appointment, so either make an appointment or call ahead for a weekday evening, when she could always get me in that day. I won't miss Chicago winters, but I will miss getting my haircut here...................... read more

Since moving to the north-side for the past year and a half, every 2-4 weeks, I come here to get my brows threaded and tinted. All the ladies here are wonderfully pleasant. My eyebrows are always on point. I usually get the mocha tint. I always end up leaving content. There is no appointment needed for eyebrows, but be cautious since it is a busy salon you might have to wait. I usually go in the morning to avoid long wait time. My favorite salon! The prices are incredible. I get my eyebrows cleans up and upper lip done every 15 days. They are all very friendly and their work is good. I have tried different packages with lashes with them. I get my hair trimmed once a year and I have never had an issue with them. This morning I went to get my eyebrows done. And the lady didn't sanitize the area after she had finish with two customers before me. I asked the lady if she was going to clean and she said no! Because the owner didn't want her leather seats to get damage!! I love getting my eyebrows done with them. But I think that's nasty specially now. Went to get a haircut and never again! I asked for a trim and she didn't even trim it she used her thinning shears! When I asked her not to she just agreed and kept using them and not only did she mess up my hair but she left it uneven and she also kept stopping and talking to the other stylist, I was in the shop way longer then I should have. I started coming to Julie's salon since December of 2020 and it was the best decision I have made in quite a while. I go to the salon to thread my eyebrows, hair cuts and even laser hair removal. I recommend getting your laser hair removal here! Who would think a salon would have laser hair removal services? The service is so amazing. The employees are such sweet hearts including the owner as well. The store itself is gorgeous. If you want to get your hair done professionally ask for Julie! Words can not even explain how amazing she is at doing hair! I'm so happy we have became close friends. I have tried a couple of services. I loved the facial which is only $25 which is so cheap compared to other places. Lily does amazing facials. I left the facial room feeling like a whole new person. If you want to get your hair done I recommend calling and making an appointment if you want it done on the weekend because they're typically busy then. When it comes to professionalism and giving the CUSTOMER what they ask for and especially if they ask a second time, it should be noted that Julie completely failed at this task. I did not become a repeat customer for many months to have her roll her eyes at my request and make a smart comment about my hair and what I wanted. She also made sure she screwed up my short hair by cutting into it and leaving it uneven and pretty visible! I am very disappointed over the lack of respect for the customer, especially since I have been there more than a few times. If you want a hair salon that will devote their full attention, time and respect into your hair needs, then don't waste your time coming here as I clearly have. read more

I've been going to Julie's for years for my eyebrows. And they've ALWAYS done a great job. Were always extremely nice. It's always been a very homey feeling when I went... Then I have no idea what happened. I went there last week as a walk in to get my hair cut and they took one look at my hair and started speaking in their language. And I'm all for speaking in a different language, hell I speak a different language. But they told me they needed me to straighten my hair first and then come in (my hair is curly, naturally, just like theirs). And what got me is that I've seen them cut curly hair without straightening it plenty of times. Then Julie herself decided to look me up and down. It's like Julie built a clientele and forgot where she came from. Like totally "started from the bottom now we here". I never heard about Julie's until about 3 months ago when I moved here to Chicago. I was a little worried about going cause I'm really scared of people who mess with my hair but after one of my close friend said she went there and she liked it I went and gave the place a chance. The interior of the salon in stunning. The ceiling is beautiful and the customer service is great. When I went to get my hair keratin treatment in the receptionist offered me coffee, water, soda and sweets. Julie was the one who did my hair.
