Jacklin K Salon - Full head of blonde highlights by Teri - Waxing Near Me - Evanston, Illinois

I have been coming to Jacky for full and partial highlights, haircuts, and eyebrows threading for about 2 years now and I've love the results every time. She is so efficient, knowledgeable, and has such an amazing attention to detail. She is never rushing. It is hard to find hair stylist that make you feel welcomed and appreciated when you have thick, long hair. She never made me feel like a burden and she does it so effortlessly. She exceeds the hair goals I had in mind. I'll always trust her with my hair. Her salon is always clean. I would recommend her to anyone looking for hair services. read more

Teri is amazing! I have really dark hair and sometimes have trouble with my blonde being bronze/yellow in some parts. Teri is very patient and listens to exactly what I wanted. She took her time and explained what she was doing (techniques) in order to achieve my desired blonde color! I absolutely love it! Teri is my girl for blonde highlights! read more

Soooo excited that they added the ability to book your appointment online from their website. It is formatted to also work on a mobile phone browser so you can easily pull up their schedule and the type of service you want and see when each stylist had an opening. I just booked an appointment and it took about 3 min. Much less time than it would have taken to call and since it's 9pm they are closed so I would have to wait until Tomorrow to do it anyway. This is a huge plus in my book since it is so convenient and saves time! read more

I don't usually write reviews but I can not say enough good things about Hannah's haircuts! This is my third time at this salon and I feel my cuts with Hannah just keep getting better. This time I let her do what she thought was best and I am so happy with the results. I have naturally curly hair and she is amazing at working with my curls! read more

Jacklin K Salon - Fun to go short for spring! - Waxing Near Me - Evanston, Illinois

This is a wonderful salon - I'm so glad that I found Teri! She really listens to her clients and provides great advise and fantastic results. They are VERY considerate with precautions re COVID in every aspect including shields between customers, an air purifier, taking temperatures of clients before services, have COVID certifications visible. Also - Had my eyebrows threaded by Jacklin and it was the least painful threading I've ever experienced! Another HUGE benefit is that you are supporting small business - not only critical during this time - but makes for even less exposure. Always friendly and professional - could not recommend more strongly read more

It was that time of year. The temperatures are rising, beaches calling my name, and flip-flops have came out of storage. I needed a flirty, summery haircut to match my tan and bright tank tops. I returned to Jacklin K. Salon for said haircut and highlights yesterday, and I am extremely pleased with the results. Jacklin K. Salon is located at the intersection of Gross Point and Old Orchard Road. The salon may be in Evanston, but it belongs downtown because of its stylish and modern decor. Unpretentious and welcoming, every customer is treated like a guest. The staff is very friendly and sociable, including the salon owner Jacklin herself. She and her husband put all of their heart and soul into this salon, and it shows. I wanted subtle copper/caramel highlights. Jacklin was a great listener during the consultation. While she colored my hair, I watch the "Today Show" on their plasma TV, and engaged in light-hearted conversations. Time quickly flew by. In past experiences, this process took forever due to my thick, black hair. Next, it was time for my hair cut. I always ask for a shaggy style. It doesn't require much styling, just tousle and go. I am extremely low maintenance when it comes to hair. I simply don't have the desire to spend more than 10 minutes with a comb and blow dryer. Anyway, Jacklin washed my hair and gave a deep condition treatment (always a bonus). She started cutting my hair with regular scissors, while adding lots of texture with a razor. That is preferred way of thinning and adding dimension to hair. Overall, I was very pleased by the experience. I love the cut and color of my hair. It was wonderful to meet Jacklin. She is truly in her element as a salon owner and hairstylist. If you are looking for great haircuts, you need not venture far into Chicago. Here, you'll get the same results in a bright and hospitable atmosphere, but at much better prices. Strongly recommended! read more

It was my first time going to this salon and I loved my experience! I went in for Devacut and Hannah did an amazing job. I felt very comfortable and she was excellent. The salon is very updated and stylish, the people are friendly and sweet, and I'm very pleased with my service! I would definitely go back for sure! read more

I had a groupon and came in for a full highlight and cut. I worked with Shanna. She was fantastic. Allowed me to read and just zone out. The cut and wash were my favorite parts, the head massage was heavenly! I like my color a lot too, just some parts that seem chunky. I plan on calling to see if they can fix. I will update my review after that. ****update. I called and they got me right in to fix it. It looks much better and they reassured me I could come back if I got home and noticed any other chunks. I even got a facial and that was good too. read more

Jacklin cuts 3 generations of hair in our family and we've got it all: curly, straight, wavy, cowlicky and we get beautiful haircuts every time. Jacklin is extremely knowledgeable and talented. The salon is immaculate (with excellent pandemic controls). And the atmosphere is professional yet warm, friendly, and full of laughter and conversation. I really could not recommend Jacklin K Salon more. read more

I LOVE this place. Best haircut ever and didn't have to spend a ton to get it. Susan has cut my hair several times and my daughter's too. Always very friendly and listens to what you want. The prices for cuts are around $20 and if you want it styled it's a bit more. I just had my hair colored there for the first time and Susan did a great job with that too. The color isn't cheap ($70 for single process), but like I said, she did a beautiful job. Also, I appreciate the laid back atmosphere of the salon. It's a relaxing and friendly place. read more

After 7years as a client it is about time I get around to writing this overdue review. The entire staff have your best interests at heart and show it. Their clients love them, so it is worth your time to try them. read more

Loved the atmosphere, loved the staff, and loved the experience. Until you know and feel what it is like for a great haircut and style, you won't choose any other place. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with Jacklin as you will not be disappointed. I recently joined Yelp but have been coming to this salon for a while now. This place definitely knows what they're doing. Two thumbs way up. read more

Jacklin K Salon - I can not even begin to explain how happy I was with the cut and style. - Waxing Near Me - Evanston, Illinois

Jackie and her team are a fantastic group of ladies! Very friendly and professional. Jackie gave me a beautiful haircut and made me more knowledgeable about caring for my hair. I didn't get any coloring or other services but I'm confident that they have the right skills to make your hair awesome! I highly recommend! read more

Despite the good reviews (which is why I chose this salon), my experience was horrible. I have brown hair. I wanted to go just one or two shades lighter and I personally didn't care how it was achieved. I went first to Brittany and $200 later my hair was orange. She sent me home with orange hair and acted as if the color was perfectly normal and also as if I had asked for orange hair. I was upset with the orange color, so I went back to Jacklin who "fixed" it free of charge. After, my hair was still an orange/red color. Everyone who sees me says "oh you dyed your hair red...?" with a disgusted look on their face. 6 months of having orange hair, I decided to call Jacklin to find out what she used in my hair so that when I go to a new salon I may be able to actually achieve a normal looking color. Jacklin would not reveal to me what she used on my hair. Her reason was that they go to school and study to come up with the [orange] colors they dye their clients hair. I assured her I wasn't try to steal her special concoction of color, because in all honesty, everyone who sees it thinks it looks absolutely awful. Quote from their website: "Our goal is for each guest to leave completely satisfied and looking forward to their next memorable experience." I can attest that this is NOT a goal this salon strives for. In my opinion, the Jacklin K Salon stylists/owner are rude and operate a very poorly run business. -UPDATE- I went to Rolf Salon in Wilmette and the stylist there was able to correct/remove the red/orange from my hair. And now I finally have great looking color. read more

I live out of state, but whenever I'm in town, I make sure I get to Jacklin's Salon. She is amazing matching my hair color and cutting to my preferred style. She is the best! The online appointment calendar works great. Jacklin K Salon is definitely my go to place. read more

Great environment, good service and really nice people. So naturally I wanted to give a good review until I came home and realized the right side of my hair was cut noticeably shorter than the left. And I'm talking an inch here, not just nit picking! The stylist was obviously not paying attention to her work and for $50 I expect a great cut. Needless to say, I will be back tomorrow to get it fixed and hopefully will leave satisfied. read more

Love, love, love this salon. Jackie has been doing my hair for many years now. I had struggled with finding a stylist who listened, was skilled at their craft, pleasant and did not break the bank. Everyone at the salon is warm, friendly and accommodating. They are open 7 days a week. read more

Been going to Jackie for many years. Great salon. Jackie always makes me feel beautiful. She listens and gives great recommendations!

Okay I think I found my salon. Just had a FABULOUS hair cut and style just a few hours ago. My stylist was Crystal who by the way was a great listener and actually communicated with me through out the whole process. Previous stylist from other salons I encountered never really listened to me, had poor communication skills and was also rushing through just so they can get as much customers they can in a day. Well definitely you will not find rushing and lack of communication in this place! The atmosphere is great and the stylists there made sure you felt welcomed and comfortable. So my stylist crystal did a great job on my hair, she took her time and made sure all the imperfections of my hair was perfect. I came in there very unsure of what hairstyle I wanted. I wanted the inverted bob but then again I don't flat iron my hair constantly but leave it curly and wavy more often so she suggested that I get many layers and add fun to it. Which I went ahead and let her do her magic. She did a fantastic job and I loved it!!!! can't wait to go back next month and get some highlights from her. Definitely worth it!!! read more

I've been coming to Jacklin K. Salon for a couple of years now, after my previous stylist stopped cutting. This was terrifying, as I like to stay with someone who knows me and knows what I like. That said, once I came to Jackie - I was a client for good. I've even referred my mom, family and girlfriends. The salon has good hours, a convenient location and an extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Jackie both cuts and colors my hair, which is not easy. I have baby fine hair, and change colors with the seasons, and she is always patient and gives great suggestions. She will also be honest with me when what I think I might want simply won't work with my hair/coloring/lifestyle. She's a wiz with ideas that DO work and that is worth every penny. read more

As many of us are, I am looking for a job, and surprisingly I had a second interview come up the day after a first. The job is on the Magnificent Mile where public image is important, and I was in desperate need of a new color and cut. I was panicking. Who would take me as a walk-in at 4:45p for a full color and cut and do a good job. I immediately jumped on GOGGLE, and found several salons, finding that they were charging way to much for a girl out of work, or that they couldn't take me. Now, I've looked for stylist before in Evanston, but I had never run across Jacklin K before two days ago. I read of their reviews on GOGGLE and gave them a call hoping against hope they could fit me in. To my surprise, the woman on the phone said no problem, can you be here 5:00. Greatly relieved, I quickly made my way over. As I walked in, I was immediately struck at how well designed and maintained the salon was. It's very sleek and modern while being very inviting and comfortable. I realized that I was in for a treat. The stylist greeted me with a knowing smile, and I greeted her with a great deal of gratitude that she would take me on such short notice for such a big job (I have long hair, and it's thick and dark). The short of it is that everyone was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, complimentary and oriented towards helping me find the style that I want and making me feel beautiful when I walked out. Even though she was a little rushed, Susan gave me a great color and my cut and style were better than I had imagined. As for the price, it was very, very reasonable. I left feeling confident and beautiful and like I could take on the world. They even wished me luck on the interview as I was leaving. The next day I rocked interview feeling great about myself and my hair. Thanks Susan!!!!! You guys are awesome, and I'll be back for my touch up soon. read more

Decent price. I had my bob cut here by Jackie. The style is good, except that it could have been cut more thoroughly evenly. However, nobody but myself is probably seeing this. But when I had it cut by Susan last year, the unevenness was more pronounced and my mother and one of my girl friends noticed. But I'm quite happy with the new cut I got with Jackie, so 4 star for her. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I was so nervous trusting my hair to an unknown quantity, but the people there are so friendly and welcoming it put me at ease. For all of you who wish to transition from coloring your hair to letting your silver shine, Jackie does an incredible job. It took about 6 months to go from dark brown colored hair to my natural silver color with my hair looking great though the entire process. I am thrilled with my silver hair and how Jackie defined a series of steps to get me there, with no embarrassment whatsoever! Thanks to all at Jacklin K Salon. read more

I have been going to this salon for over a year. First, I love supporting a female owned company - and Jackie - the owner is a gem. And lets talk hair - Jackie used the keratine express treatment on my hair last summer. It went from a mass of red curls and frizz - not attractive - to me now - the lady who can flip her super smooth straight hair back. I've had several of the 30-minute express treatments and truly - it's been amazing. Instead of spending an hour trying to tame curls that went everywhere I have smooth shoulder length hair. I can use the flat iron to make it super straight - but usually I wash it - blow it for about 5 mintues to get the dampness out - and GO! read more

This is by far my favorite salon to come to! I have tried art&science and Trio which I wasn't impressed with either. At Jacklin K, I felt like Jacklin really listened and she didn't try to push anything extra on me.
