We were here on a Saturday evening and it was very crowded. We still got great service. Also our food was excellent. I got broiled jumbo shrimp, green beans and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese wasn't the best I've ever had but it was still good. Hubby had chicken fried steak, apples and cole slaw. It was very good. The place is decorated very cute. I would definitely go back again. Loved the great selection on the menu. The only bad thing about that is that it made it so hard to decide what to get. read more

This quaint but cute little place is off the beaten path somewhat, but certainly worth the drive! But please make a point to eat there! These people care about the food they are serving and it really shows! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! Quality food, service, friendly wait staff, and the owner came out more than three times to check on customers. It is also an absolutely spotlessly clean restaurant. My hubby, who is considered by everyone he knows to be a master griller guy, had the burger, and he said "now this is a good burger". He NEVER has ever said that. We arrived right as they opened so our food actually came out before the complimentary biscuits and hot apple butter were done. We were given some to take home! That was so very nice! Stopped in for a bite of lunch and had quite a bit of lunch! The warm biscuits and warm apple butter was a nice start to our meal. Our group ordered a few starters...fried okra/pickles and the chicken livers and onions. Very tasty. For lunch, we had folks ordering chicken and dumplings, the patty melt, the tomato bisque and BLT. Sides ranging from the steamed broccoli, collard greens and green beans were great. Judging by the lack of talking, I think everyone enjoyed their meal. Each time I've been to this establishment I have been met with friendly service and great people. I've enjoyed most items on their menu. I've not been disappointed but there just a few items that just wasn't what I expected for a dish were still delicious. Found this place through Yelp as I was looking for good comfort food in the area. O'boy, glad to have chosen to have dinner here. The Catfish was delicious, fresh mashed potatoes and pintos equally delicious. To end the meal on a positive note I found the hot peach cobbler with Ice cream awesome! Great southern food and family restaurant atmosphere with good prices. Found this restaurant thru YELP on our way from Asheville to Atlanta. It was a little bit out of our way, but worth it and we were happy to find a restaurant with dine-in seating. We were there on a Sunday for their family style dinner. The fried chicken tenders were delicious. The crust was crispy with very good flavors. The sides were delicious, especially loved the creamed corn and fried squash. Great atmosphere completely substandard hamburger. Fries were good , my wife's soup was so salty she had to return it. Nowadays it easy to open a restaurant, get a building equipment staff , call Sisco or other food distributors. There you have it no worries about quality or taste or pride . We have been many times since we moved here 2 years ago. Up until recently we have been more than pleased with the service, food and prices. Recently when we went, my husband ordered an extra piece of meat with his meal as he always does. We went to pay and he was charged double price! I understand a few dollars more, but honestly to charge full price simply because he got an extra meat is not right. We even questioned the check out person and they called Julie, she stood by her price. Friends of ours shared a similar story with us, so since I left my number and name for Julie but never heard back, we have not returned, nor have our friends. Great food and great friendly service. Ate there on Thanksgiving and though they were packed the food and service was wonderful. Only issue we have had are the burgers, we went with another couple a few weeks ago and we all ended up getting one of the burger options. Everything was tasty and good but the burgers were overwhelmed by the bun and trimmings, looked like a slider on a full size bun. I would recommend increasing the size from 1/4 pound to 1/3 or 1/2 pound patty, especially with the cost of the item. We'll be back, but pass on the lil' burgers. read more

Wow! Loved it!! They start your meal with biscuits and applebutter. Really good Applebutter--lots of spices. Best country fried steak I have ever eaten!!! Great home style green beans!! All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service we received from our server was outstanding. I do not recall her name and I never save receipts. Ugh...we really love to support local businesses but this is a dud. Folks encouraged us to try it, and we did. Unfortunately this "country cooking" is a far cry from mine and my Mama's. The down home food here is always good and you know it is fresh. If you are here when they have chicken and dumplings on their special menu, make sure you grab it! They are amazing. The homemade sides are also tasty and plentiful. The only downside for us is that the waitresses are often harried and sometimes forget to bring items that are requested. That's a testament to how popular this restaurant is, but it would be nice if they were able to retain a couple more servers. read more
