A go to spot for me also. On to the review! I walk in and greeted by a very polite person asking me what I would like and started off with a loaf of Italian bread sliced. They grab the loaf fly to the back and before you know they are right back and asked if I wanted anything else and I asked for some torpedo rolls and while they grabbed that I scooped up some Hermit cookies (my favorite thing here!). We square up at the counter with a fast polite credit card transaction and I'm out the door ( watch the step going in and out). Great little town bakery where most the locals can be seen chit chatting back and forth while ordering stuff. Great friendly vibe. Nice clean place and really awesome Hermit cookies! The guy at the counter was super nice and when I told him it was my first time, that I lived nearby, he lit up sharing with me how everything is made in house fresh every day. And I could taste it in every bite. The sauce they make is thick but still maintains some of the bright acidity of the tomato. There's even little bites of tomato bits here and there that made it so good The spinach pesto pizza was a solid option, although I think it would be better warmed a little. Still delicious and decimated by yours truly. Finally the Italian cold cuts calzone was a thing of beauty. The outside was that crispy crunchy exterior but soft interior like good Italian bread. And a good amount of meat, they packed it in this baby! On top of all that, the price is incredible. You can find many places that charge less for such quality items. So if you're in my neighborhood, make sure to check it out! They have TWO parking lots, in the front to the left and in the back. Even with all the snow they had plenty of parking for customers. And for the powdered donut, I could tell the dough itself was a touch old as it was a little dry, but the strawberry filling was on point and there was plenty of it.

Just chocolate and double chocolate. I settled for a sugar cookie (shaped like pac-man for my 5 year old), a chocolate chip cookie for my teen and I opted for a pecan pie slice and a sfogliatella. This morning, I decided to swing thru on my way to see my mother. On Charles St in the north end of Providence, this quaint spot proudly announced itself to the neighborhood with the building and trash cans matching the Italian tri colors of their open flag waving in the wind. Inside was a gorgeous selection of pastries, prepared foods, breads and more. I was there for two reasons, pizza strips and zeppole. My targets were acquired, plus an apple turnover and I took my goodies to Bristol. The strips delicious, soft but not mushy. They still have some chew to it but it gave easily when you bit into it. The sauce was generous and garlicky. Every bite made you want to take another! I'm glad I got two! The zeppole was great. The pastry was crisp and tasted fresh. The custard was similar to vanilla pudding in taste and very smooth, too. They put just the right amount. It was easy to eat where you had filling in each bite but it didn't overflow and make a mess. Finally, the apple turnover was awesome. The pastry was flaky and a little extra crispy from the sugar crust on top. The apple filling was all the way through the pastry, so even though we split the turnover three ways, each of us were able to have the same experience. Overall, I am pleased to have found this spot. I'm definitely coming back. I now have 4 places off the top of my head within 10 minutes if my house to get fantastic pizza strips. Super happy about the recommendation!
