I sat at the bar which was readily available and quickly greeted given a menu. The place is quaint in size but big in personality, and they have more seating than you'd anticipate from the outside. I appreciated the size of the menu, a variety of options, but not too large, and they had special brunch menu offerings for the weekend. I got a beer and the fried fish sandwich. The fish was flaky and perfectly cooked, and somehow, despite it being deep friend, it wasn't the least bit greasy! The bun was squishy, and the slaw was a glorious addition. Oh and the fries? I could've eaten another portion they were sweet, salty, crispy, soft: perfection. So ya, in case you didn't catch on: 5 for sure, and I WILL be back.

You walk in and immediately feel that local, unpretentious energy that's been missing from a lot of the scene. Do I love that it's on Biscayne? Not really. But the food more than makes up for it. For a bar-style environment, the food is consistently very good. Not just "good for a bar" ... like its actually good. The burger is a must (im pescatarian but my friend said it was delicious!) and their Eggs Benedict at brunch is easily one of my favorites in the area. Pair it with a Bloody Mary and you're set. their happy hour pricing is refreshingly reasonable, which is rare around here. I was talking to one of the bartenders and found out even their bread is made in-house. That kind of consistency and care, especially at these price points, is not easy to maintain and you can feel it in the food. It seems that their leadership (owner or manager, not totally sure) has always been present when I've gone and brings a great energy to the space. It trickles down to the staff and the overall vibe. You feel welcomed!!! I this is the kind of place that deserves real support. It's local, it's consistent, it's affordable, and it actually feels like a community spot -- something Miami desperately needs more of.

The restaurant is conveniently located right on the downtown strip with free street parking nearby, which is always a plus. The atmosphere was inviting from the moment we walked in. The host welcomed us and told us we could sit anywhere we liked, so we chose a quieter table away from the bar area. There is also a stage section that looked perfect for live music nights, although there was no entertainment during our visit. Overall, the ambiance was trendy, relaxed, and had a great neighborhood feel. They also appeared to have some very good happy hour specials for those who drink. Our server was very sweet and offered several recommendations. We decided to share the burrata appetizer and the skirt steak dinner. The steak arrived first and looked absolutely beautiful. The quality of the meat itself was outstanding and cooked very well. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable charred flavor from what seemed like a dirty grill, which took away from an otherwise excellent steak. It was disappointing because the quality of the meat was truly superb. The fries were also surprisingly good and almost tasted closer to sweet potato fries. At that point, we realized our burrata appetizer had been forgotten. Once we flagged down our server, she immediately corrected the mistake and brought it out quickly. Thankfully, it was absolutely delicious and ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. The fresh burrata paired perfectly with the heirloom tomatoes and tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. Toward the end of dinner, service became difficult again. We were ready for more water, a box, and the check, but our server was nowhere to be found despite the restaurant not being particularly busy since it was still early in the evening. I eventually had to get up and ask the bartender for assistance. Overall, I really enjoyed the ambiance and appreciated the quality of the food. There were definitely some service inconsistencies, but the restaurant has a lot of potential and several dishes that stood out.

The food is always fresh, delicious, and there is such a great variety that I honestly wouldn't mind eating here every single day! Everything we've tried has been so good, and you can really taste the freshness and care that goes into the food. I just wish they would open a location in New Jersey because we would be there all the time! Highly recommend Doggies Arepa Bar--you won't be disappointed!

Doggi Arepas was our very first stop upon arriving in…read moreMiami.. yes, luggage and all! And let me tell you, it set the tone for an unforgettable culinary experience. This isn't just a place you enjoy and move on from. This is the kind of spot you continue to talk about long after your trip ends, the kind of hidden gem you excitedly recommend to family and friends the moment they mention heading to Miami. It left such an impression on me that I know I'll be coming back every time I return to the city. Let's start with the menu.. it's extensive, diverse, and absolutely packed with flavor. Doggi Arepas offers an incredible variety of traditional Venezuelan dishes with a FUSION. From Arepas and Empanadas to Parrillas, Sopas, Ceviche, Pepitos, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Patacones, Chicken, Steaks, and even fresh salads, there's something for every craving. They also serve freshly squeezed juices, like passion fruit and orange, that complement the meal. Now, onto the standout dishes: *Yuca Fries with Cheese - $4.99 These cassava fries are fried to absolute perfection. It's crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Topped with freshly shredded Venezuelan queso blanco, they strike the ideal balance between rich, savory, and comforting. A simple, yet deeply satisfying appetizer. *Tajadas "The Arepa Guru" - $11.99 This dish completely blew me away and is easily my favorite item on the menu. Think perfectly caramelized sweet fried plantains sandwiching grilled Venezuelan cheese, all topped with tangy nata (a rich, creamy sauce) and more shredded queso blanco. The interplay of textures and the sweet-and-savory flavor combo is nothing short of magic. I've literally been dreaming about it since I left. If you try just one thing, let it be this! *Patacón de Churrasco - $15.99 This dish features a crispy green plantain base stacked with marinated churrasco steak, fresh lettuce, tomato, avocado, and shredded cheese, all drizzled with Doggi's special house sauces. The steak is incredibly tender and well-seasoned with herbs that brighten the dish, while the crunch from the plantain gives it a satisfying bite. Every component works in harmony to create a bold and flavorful experience. *Arepa La 10 - $15.99 A perfectly grilled arepa filled with marinated churrasco, grilled paisa-style cheese, and a house-made chimichurri that ties everything together beautifully. The grilled cheese is slightly crisp on the outside and gooey within.. adding an indulgent richness that elevates the entire dish. The chimichurri adds a zing of herbaceous brightness that brings balance and depth. *Arepa de Pabellón - $13.99 A Venezuelan classic done right. It's shredded beef, black beans, sweet fried plantains, and that signature white cheese. The flavors come together in a way that feels like comfort food elevated to a new level. The beef is juicy, the plantains are golden and sweet. *Empanada de Carne - $3.99 A classic favorite. Its crispy crust holds in a warm, savory carne filling that's moist and flavorful. These are perfectly handheld bites of joy. In every single dish we tried, you can tell the ingredients are high-quality and thoughtfully prepared. The attention to flavor, texture, and authenticity is consistent throughout the entire menu. It's not often you find a place where every single item you order is a standout, but Doggi Arepas delivers on every front. Whether you're stopping by for a quick snack or settling in for a full meal, you're guaranteed to leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. Doggi Arepas isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience, a taste of Venezuelan culinary culture that stays with you long after the last bite. Highly, highly recommended! My ONLY complaint that I unfortunately have to mention is that even-though we were only a party of 2. Our server didn't mention to us that gratitude is included so we ended up tipping about 45%-50% of our ENTIRE bill without realizing it. We DOUBLE TIPPED. But, this is our mistake for not double-checking, a fair warning to people who are visiting!

The Citadel is a food hall that really gets it right. They have amazing vendors where locals want to eat at, a great bar, strong wifi, and easy parking. No matter the time of day you visit - you can certainly find something you'd like here. My favorites are Vice City Bean for coffee, Maki-San for sushi and of course USBS for burgers. There are plenty of tables to dine at, and you can definitely post up there to work or catch up with a friend. My favorite hack is to roll up in the early afternoon, because happy hour starts at 4 pm and the wines are $6 and they have bites on the menu that start at $5. My go-to is a glass of white wine and two hand rolls for around $15 - total steal! Service has always been friendly no matter the vendor I visit and I love the community vibe. If you want to shop, they have some cool local stores there too. And for those with a sweet tooth, there is scandy candy in one of the shops. There is parking in the back lot that usually is not full but if it is there is also metered street parking.

Our server upstairs in the rooftop was friendly and attentive, but we did have to chase after him a bit to get the check towards the end.
