The person making my food was very nice and polite but did not wash her hands or wear gloves while directly making the food (caprese toast).

They roast their own coffee! Wow! Yum!…read more On a weekend morning (Jun 2026), we were in the vicinity of Solomons MD, and friends said that Bugeye Grill roasts their own coffee. That got our attention! We stopped in at this bright clean restaurant on a late weekend morning, (weekdays they open at 5pm). The French-press coffee was a tasty fragrant medium Brazilian blend. The flavor was well balanced, and it was a good smooth non-acidic coffee We found it to be a creamier fragrant brew, not a darker roasty flavor. It had a lightly malty sweetness and nuttiness, characteristic of its blend of Brazilian arabica, robusta, and hybrid beans. They have different blends from time to time. They really are a full-menu restaurant terrific views of Back Creek, and a midscale-classy vibe. They focus on seafood and steaks and lobster! We saw sandwiches around $20. This time, we came for the coffee. It was luscious!

First timers on Solomon and at Bugeye Grill. I will admit that we stopped by this restaurant…read morebecause it was one of the first ones that had outdoor seating (we were visiting with a dog). The restaurant had a nice variety of dishes and specialty cocktails...I think that I was more interested in the latter. ;) Since I have not visited Solomons, MD before, I cannot comment if the prices are comparable to other places in the area. However, most of the entrees were in the $25 and up range. I thought my fish and chips (I forget the actual name of the dish) were fine, and my spouse really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Although I thought the portion sizes for the sandwiches and fries were fine, the serving size of the mussels seemed a bit small. However, this could have been an optical illusion because the serving bowl for the mussels was HUGE, so the amount of mussels could have appeared to be smaller than what it was. I thought the outdoor patio was great especially with a view of the water and folks going about their business. However, some may not like the setup because you are right on the main street, which can be a bit noisy especially if a lot of bikers are cruising up and down the strip. Parking was a bit of a struggle (not the fault of the restaurant). During our visit, all of the public parking lots were full. However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.

I remember buying a Bike there in the 90s when it was Still called Blue wind, but obviously it was a bike shop at the time. They had a pretty extensive menu of Sandwiches, wraps and salads(All light fare) and some very good looking specials, I had the "garbage" sandwich with a side salad. Fairly large sandwich. Loaded with turkey, Pulled Pork, Ham, Swiss and a BBQ sauce on a Ciabatta roll. Great Flavor, very yummy sandwich, But it was just a tiny bit cold in the middle still(A VERY minor complaint). Side Salad was solid, with a great dressing. The Lemonade was also good if a bit on the Sweet side. Service was also very friendly. Definitely 5 stars. Will be going back the next time I am in the Area.

I found Blue Wind Gourmet searching for Yelp to fuel up after a business meeting and before a long drive in the rain (east coast in February!). I was a bit confused when I walked in. The space is a wine and chocolate bar and has a hipster wine bar look which is suprising for the area. They also have sandwiches (including crab cake) and soup (crab & corn chowder) so I ordered both and settled in. Coffee for me, no wine (too early), but the wine selection looks impressive. The food came out in maybe 5 minutes, hot and fresh. The crab chowder was delicious, plenty of identifiable crab lumps and good flavor. The crab cake also had crab lumps, not just shredded crab. I did wish the sandwich was a bit bigger though. It was maybe about 3 inches square. Service was prompt and friendly too.

Overall, the food was really good, and the water view is really nice. Great place for a meal! Side note: their cakes looked incredible, but we didn't try them this time. I would definitely consider going back for a slice of cake.

The Pier Restaurant is a whole vibe! After contemplating, researching and comparing several…read morerestaurants in the area, I decided we should visit The Pier. You have the option of dinning indoors and outside on the deck. No reservation required and plenty of room. The deck only has about 6 or 7 tables and you're in direct sun. We opted for the deck. It was warm with the sun beating down on us, but you can't beat the view and ambiance. A performer was indoors singing, which was a cute idea and people on boats would just pull up and dock and come into the restaurant. Pretty cool concept. The food was absolutely delish! We wanted to try the crab pretzel but they were unfortunately out of that dish, so we pivoted to the wings. Lemon pepper, to be exact. We loved them! I ordered the blackened salmon with a kale crunch salad and lime rice. That was probably the best salmon I've ever had! And the portion was huge!! I also ordered the lemonade crush. Perfect for a warm day! Our server was so sweet and helpful during our visit. She made sure to check on us frequently and she had a very pleasant demeanor. What's funny is she has an identical twin working here also and I would often confuse the two. Lol! All and all, we had a fabulous time!. After we ate, we did a little roaming around the area. The area has a lot of cool places to visit. Even though the ride here is about 1 hour 10 minutes from my house, it was sooooo worth the ride. Give the area a try! You won't be disappointed.

Tons of traffic, a Saturday night, live music, and right along the water. Combine all those things, and it was a packed strip of people and things to do. We got to The Pier and were greeted immediately and escorted to our seats. With the nice weather we opted to sit outside. Not the best move on our part as it turned windy while we were out there. We weren't going to let the wind stop us, we looked over the menu quickly and ordered waters until we decided on drinks. Well, the wind struck and took one of the menus up off the table and tipped over a water glass. Water doused one of our party and we learned our lesson on where to keep the menus until taken from us. I was advised that you had to get a bucket here. I had to ask what exactly is a bucket before I decided that. I was told that a bucket was just one of their drink in a bigger quantity service in a pail...or bucket. I was like, alright, let's do this. After looking at the menu I went with a Lemonade Crush, fresh squeezed lemonade, lemon vodka, and, as they put it, "a splash of soda." I don't drink often at this point in my life, but this was delicious. After a very long week of work travel, this was the perfect way to cap it off. As for food, I definitely went light. I only ordered an appetizer. I went with the Pretzels & Queso. These were like pretzel bites, so don't let the name mislead you and think you are getting multiple pretzels. Maybe pretzel balls is a proper way to describe it. The queso for this, some of the best I have ever had. The service here is top notch as well. Our server made sure we were taken care of and made sure that our orders were correct and came out.
