Burrito Bowl with Chicken

Thanks to my Electric Log Book I ran out of hours in SeligmanAZ for the night . I stopped at exit 123 / Interstate 40 and went to the Chevron on the south side of the road.Juanhijo's is in the Chevron building (even though they don't have a sign up) . The map here on Yelp! is showing it in a field on other side of interstate lol Decided to get the Burrito Bowl . The restaurant is set up like a Subway(which is right next to them in the same building). They started out with a layer of beans(retried or pinto) , a layer of Spanish rice and then your choice of protein . They you can top it off with lettuce, cheese, salsa etc . You end up with a HUGE amount of Burrito Bowl for your money- way too much that I could get eaten for this supper(but I finished it off anyway lol) .. Everything seemed fresh any was tasty- It hit the spot and then some ..

You could make two meals out of a single burrito.

Think Subway, but for burritos instead of sandwiches. This place is right off of I-40 and offers plenty of parking for truckers, like myself. Ordering is quick and convenient. The food is already prepared and waiting for you to build your own entree. I have tried both the chicken and the pork, and both were fresh and delicious. The burritos are gigantic. They could easily be two meals for a person, or split between two people without compromise. Beware of the hot sauce - it's no joke. I love spicy, and it does have good flavor, but you'll regret taking too much after the fact. If you're driving by and enjoy this type of food, it's a must-stop.

Solid carnitas burrito. If you're looking for something to hold you over on the drive to or from Vegas, it more than fits the bill.

Excellent food, prices, service and the selection and size of the burritos make this "the go to place" when you're looking for a real meal.

The shredded beef burrito with retried beans, rice, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, and the spicy red salsa (not spiciest red or green) is a winner!!

The young lady got our drink orders right away and gave us enough time to look over the menu. The menu, by the way, is pretty cool. Unique names for their offerings so make sure you really read what it is you're ordering. Anyone can serve large portions, but making them so good you REALLY want to eat everything is another! Today, they did just that! I had the steak and egg breakfast and the temp, char and seasonings were perfect. Rest of the family had other items and we all ate 'em up, it was that good. Servers and staff checked on us regularly and had a real pleasant conversation with the proprietor. This man taught his kids well; amazing little family there. The place has great decor for that area and a cool little gift shop. There's not a whole lot of choices in Seligman, but Roadkill Cafe is worth you giving them a try.

First thing you need to know is that staff was great! They kept checking on us in more like a team environment. Our waitress came by plenty but the other waitresses checked in on us from time to time, which was a nice touch. I asked the waitress to recommend something and she said the wings, so I went with it! Such a great suggestion, I got the Honey Hot wings. Not as hot right off the bat as I'm used to but it was a slow burn and they came around. The flavor was better than my favorite wing spot in Chandler, so I was super impressed! My wife got a chicken wrap and she devoured it. She never finishes her meals, she said it was so good! I couldn't believe it!!! This place was awesome, definitely a gem!

They have…read moreover 50 different flavors of pies plus other desserts and also a menu of sandwiches and other meals, but the truth is that we were here for the PIES! I had the double chocolate cream pie. YUMMMMMMMMM . . . My friend had a fruit pie. The coffee was good. I saw other guests enjoying pastas, sandwiches, and other desserts and they seemed to be enjoying their meals. Our server was awesome and very personable. Parking is the standard small town curbside parallel parking. There is a small gift shop with some interesting signs (see photo). I HIGHLY recommend this local business.

I haven't had to write a review in so long (I actually posted this on the wrong account earlier--so…read morethat tells you how long it's been), but I felt like I needed to share my experience today. We stopped by to order some pies after hearing great things (and yes--the pies do live up to the hype). We're visiting from California, so we were excited to try it out. The man who took our order was genuinely kind and made us feel welcome--10/10 for him. While waiting, my kids sat down at a table near the pies (I get it--not ideal on our part). But the hostess's reaction was... intense. Instead of a quick, polite redirect, we were told to leave in a way that felt unnecessarily rude. Even the guests she was seating noticed and commented on it, which says a lot. Look, I completely understand rules are rules--but delivery matters. A little kindness goes a long way, especially when you're dealing with families. So overall: amazing pies, friendly ordering experience, but the hostess might need a hug... and maybe a refresher on customer service. We'd love to come back for the pie, but the experience definitely left a bit of a sour taste.

The menu has all the classic café favorites, but what really sets this place apart is the quality. I didn't catch the name of our server but she was so cute and sweet. It's the kind of spot that feels warm and inviting, and you leave looking forward to coming back. I prefer to drink my coffee with creamer & get a refill when I've finished the cup, not deluting it in between. The menu is very cleaver in stating the toast comes in 1 or 2 pieces, not slices as we normally expect. So for 2 "pieces" you really get one slice just cut diagonally in half. I look at these things & wonder where else have they cut corners to such an extreme. One thing that is beyond their control is the sales tax you pay in Chino Valley. It adds a 4% on top of state & county tax. You end up paying that tax in this town even if you just buy food at a market, which I personally view as just wrong. I visit Lake Havasu once in a while where they add just 1% but the roads aren't full of pot holes & have all the services one would need.
