Everything tasted fresh, natural, and homemade, which is a huge difference compared with the overly processed food you get at many other fast-food places. The price is also very affordable. My half-chicken meal with three sides was only $16.38, which is a great value for the amount and quality of food you get. Very disappointing experience with Juan Pollo and my DoorDash order. On Wednesday, August 6, I placed an order through the DoorDash app at approximately 6:01 PM from Juan Pollo Santa Ana. Around 7:01 PM, a DoorDash Dasher delivered a package that was not my order. The package contained two rotisserie chickens that appeared to be from a different retailer, not Juan Pollo. The receipt was in the name of Lilian M. and showed a transaction time of 4:08 PM, several hours before I placed my order. This made it clear that I had received another customer's order. When I opened the package, I also discovered that both chickens were incomplete. I had undergone surgery earlier that day and was still under the effects of anesthesia, so I was tired and unable to properly inspect the delivery before the Dasher left. I contacted Juan Pollo, and the restaurant confirmed that my actual order had been prepared and was still waiting at the restaurant because the Dasher had never picked it up. They told me to come to the restaurant and pick it up myself. I explained that I could not drive because my doctor had specifically instructed me not to drive after my surgery, and the restaurant was also about to close. The following day, I called Juan Pollo again to try to find a solution. The employee who answered told me they were very busy and asked for my phone number so that the manager could call me back. It has now been almost a week, and I am still waiting for that call. I understand that delivery problems can happen, but what was especially disappointing was the lack of follow-up and customer service after I contacted the restaurant. I never received the food I ordered, and I still have not received a call from the manager despite being told that someone would contact me. I hope management takes this situation seriously and follows up with customers when they promise to do so. read more

It's hard to believe I only discovered Juan Pollo a couple months ago. To be honest, I grew up on El Pollo Loco because my dad loved a good deal, but since the pandemic, their quality has gone down and inconsistencies have gone up. Not at Juan Pollo... i'm a big fan of the ease of ordering online and how quick my food is ready. So far, I've tried their massive chicken burrito, which is enough for at least two meals. I also like their mini family pack which feeds 2 to 3 or their larger family pack, which feeds 6 to 7. Also all the sides are surprisingly delicious. Don't be fooled that the rice is boring or dry because the rice is extremely flavorful and has bits of chicken. Plus their potato salad slaps. Case in point I ordered a mini family mail just now, but made sure to get a large side of potato salad. I do recommend ordering for pick up because yes while they do have an indoor seating. It's a little bit more old-school if you know what I mean. There's a few booths but it just reminds you of the fast food or diner spots. You would frequent in the late 80s or early 90s. read more

The shredded chicken had bones in it and I think thats what kinda killed it for me. Woah! First of all, I'm a huge fan of Juan Pollo. In fact I have ordered it for department birthday parties. My favorite is the potato salad! I get double potato salad every time! Today. October 3rd. My coworker and I went to the Juan Pollo in Santa Ana during lunch to pick up food for a few co workers. It was taking a while to get the food so we asked how much longer. Something to say about this place. They are normally always busy. The flavor and quality has not changed much with their chicken. The flavor, size and quality of chicken has remained the same for years. Prices have obviously increased, but at least they do not raise the price and skimp on everything. Well......frankly I do not think that although still good, the rice and potato salad do not have the taste great taste they once had. Not sure if they skimp on the ingredients, you know the herds and spices, but the consistency and size of their containers is the same, just flavor. The rice does not have chicken anymore, if it does, the amounts of chicken are smaller or gone. It was noticed the last couple of times we ordered it. Who knows maybe it was a fluke or the cook that forgot to add it. We continue to come to the joint and enjoy the chicken, potato salad and rice. Just great food, nothing fancy. The chicken is marinated in a delectable citrus sauce; it's really good and even the white meat is moist. Two chicken specials Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but you'll want to order sides to go with it as the chicken specials come with tortillas and salsa only. The rice has chunks of chicken and vegetables in it; very savory. The pinto beans has a great smoked flavor and the potato salad is especially good.
