It's your birthday breakfast, a Monday, I'm on vacation, a wedding in NYC this weekend. My very close aunt died this morning, but I will not tell you until later, in bed, the safety of comfort. Just like this diner, the safety of the cinnamon roll pancake shared amongst friends and quintessential diner coffee. No TV's, no music, no distractions from love and sustenance. You touch my leg, I want to break down and weep about losing Deb, but I refuse to jar your special day.
