Gracie's is a very quaint and cozy diner. The decor is playful with a huge coffee theme. It's small, but not cramped. They have all day breakfast, which I'm always a fan of. The service was friendly. Coffee refills on point. The food arrived promptly, fresh and hot. It's pretty typical breakfast fare. Scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. Though the home fries stood out. They were spiralized and crispy. They also had a small pastry case at all counter filled with donuts and such. Worth checking out.

Home away from home for a hot coffee and breakfast!!

This is a gem of a local diner. I had a very tasty blueberry pancake with a side of sausage and it was excellent.

Inside is a busy dining room with roughhewn decor, lots of light wood and plenty of fish items. The open kitchen takes up one wall with counter seating, then some 2 person booths and a step up to bigger booths with menu chalkboards. The menu is divided between breakfast and lunch/dinner. Fairly classic diner menu with the significant difference of steelhead trout as a protein option. I ordered the seafood chowder and the steelhead hash. The soup came out in a minute or two, a very nicely presented small bowl of thick chowder stuffed with shrimp, fish and seafood, nicely seasoned and topped with some green onions. The chowder was delicious and very hearty. The hash was out a couple of minutes later, a plate loaded with diced potatoes, onions, peppers and pieces of steelhead trout topped with 3 over medium eggs and sided with 2 homemade biscuits. The hash was very nice, although if I get it again I would ask them to crisp up the potatoes, the trout works nicely as it is a mild fish with just enough flavor to stand up to the hash, the eggs were tasty and the biscuits were excellent. Overall a delicious and satisfying dish. Chagrin River Diner is a real find, it serves upscale diner food in a comfortable environment at reasonable prices. Service was great, the atmosphere is unique for the area, this place would feel right at home in a Rocky Mountain resort town. I will be back to Chagrin River Diner and try some of the other menu items.

I say Team, because they all were working together! The hostess, server, people getting food to the tables! Such a great environment! You truly feel appreciated as a customer! The food was really good and the portions - plan to take a box home! The Oreo pancakes were balanced and not too sweet. The cannoli pancake is VERY rich and I'd recommend sharing it! Indulgent and great for a celebration! The grits were yummy and I ended up taking the home fries home! Hahaha. My only critique, is that while the coffee was flowing, it was a tad on the bitter side. Still an ok cup of coffee! We liked it so much, we came back a week later with other people! We've told multiple people who were looking for a place to go for breakfast to definitely come here! I think some people view it in a strip mall as not willing to try, but they're missing out !

My favorite place was a diner where the food is good, specials different, and the help is happy! As I entered Petie's the manager immediately "hello 1 for here??" Huge smile. It was close to closing and I felt totally welcomed. "To go please" she was joking with her employees, some were cut and sitting waiting for their rides laughing. I can tell you that's management! I've been in the biz my entire life. Your entire experience starts with how the employees feel. End of a busy Sunday and everyone is smiling? I'll be back! The place is clean, and comfy. Menu has lots of choices and specials looked great! I got a hot roast beef sandwich with homemade mashed. Fresh, yummy, and tender. Salad was crisp and fresh. I can't go back to try breakfast. Maybe tomorrow

I was told by one of the waitresses that the old owner had come back & is going to add other foods to the buffet line whatever it is I can imagine it's going to be good, the only advice I'll give is that the tongues are very hot to touch if there's someway not too have them that hot, now would I come back you bet your bottom dollar I would...

So it really requires a totally bad & unacceptable situation for me to post anything negative about a restaurant, as I know first-hand what a tough, grinding business it can be. But I also know that regardless of how difficult making a go of it is, there's a right way & a wrong way to treat customers. Apparently Sandy & Janet, the "Golden Girls" who are the new owners of what was formerly Flavors on the Vine in Eastlake, have NO clue. Let me share my experience. My wife & I have been semi-regulars at Flavors on the Vine since moving into Timberlake over 8 years ago. For the last year of its existence as Flavors, you could tell something was amiss as the food & service was on the decline. So when we heard a couple of former employees had purchased the business & were revamping the menu & the interior, we were excited. It was also nice to see that they kept a few of the better servers who had established connections with their customers. On Saturday, July 3rd we stopped in for breakfast. Lisa, who we knew from Flavors, was our delightful server. I ordered the Country Omlette with no modifications. My wife ordered the Greek Omlette & specifically asked to have both the feta cheese & green peppers left out. The food came quickly but my wife's omlette had the feta cheese in it as well as mushrooms (which were not listed as one of the ingredients in the Greek Omlette). My wife pointed this out to Lisa who cheerfully apologized & took it back for a remake. About 4 minutes later, she returned with a freshly cooked omlette- this time it again had the feta cheese, & now also had green peppers & mushrooms but was missing the supposed-to-be- included diced tomatoes. By now I was half finished with my meal & my wife, not being one to complain, insisted I not bring this second mistake to Lisa's attention. She took just a few bites & then asked Lisa for a to-go box. I again suggested I tell our server about the second mistake but she again did not want me to, saying she would feed it to our dogs who were in the car as we were headed out with them for the day. So Lisa brings us the check & my wife takes the to-go box out to the car. I head up to the register to pay the check & Lisa asks if everything was OK because she noticed my wife hardly touched her omlette. Now I had to say something & I explained what had happened with the second incorrectly made omlette. Lisa apologized profusely & said she was going to take my wife's Greek Omlette off the check--which was the right thing to do, especially since the kitchen made not just one mistake, but two on the same order. But before she could do so, she had to get the approval from one of the owners (I believe it was Sandy) who was in the kitchen. Lisa printed out the check & it clearly showed she had input the order correctly specifying NO cheese, NO peppers-nowhere did it say to add mushrooms or hold the diced tomatoes. Lisa showed the owner the check proving it was not her ordering mistake but the kitchen not paying close attention to the orders coming in to them. I watched Lisa & the owner converse back & forth for about 4 minutes (yes, I timed it! Lisa comes back & asks me "where's the omlette?" I told her my wife was feeding it to the dogs in the car. So she goes back to the kitchen, explains this to the owner who turns around, looks at me standing at the register then turns back around & converses in a highly animated manner for another 2 minutes with Lisa. So Lisa returns to the cashier stand & tells me she can't take the omlette off the check unless I bring it back in, which by this time of course, I could no longer do as the dogs had eaten it. I asked her why & she said "that's what the owner said--she wants to see it" which made me feel as if I was being called a liar or just looking for a freebie. I was fuming on the inside by now &had my wife not been there, would have made quite a scene for all the customers to watch & hear. But I remained calm, polite & asked Lisa what the owner would do with the omlette had I been able to bring it back in. She said it would have been thrown in the trash. By now Lisa was feeling very uncomfortable about the entire ordeal, apologized again for not being able to do the right thing & deduct the omlette from the check. I smile politely paid the entire check & still gave her a 20% tip, turned around and left. That was the last time we will ever set foot in Golden Girls. The owner may have pocketed the $8.99 price of the omlette but her foolish, greedy, stupid, insulting & completely wrong actions cost her at least $1,000 in lost revenue just from us over the course of a year. And who knows how much more revenue she will never see walk through the doors from people who read this & stay away. With an owner who treats customers like dirt instead of like gold, I won't be surprised if Golden Girls become Broke Girls.
