The waiting area felt a bit claustrophobic, but I did appreciate how clean and modern the salon was decorated. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. I waited 47 minutes before being sat down in a chair, then waited another 10 minutes, and was moved to two different chairs before anything actually started. I initially asked for pink French tips with white polka dots and was told it would be $95 for just a fill-in, which felt very expensive for me personally. I was willing to pay extra, but that price was more than I was comfortable with, so I changed my request to a plain white French tip. For context, I am sixteen years old, and I truly felt that anytime I was spoken to, I was being talked down to. It felt like I was being charged left and right for the smallest things simply because of my age, which made the entire experience even more uncomfortable. The nail tech never attempted to spark a conversation, cut my cuticles, and never once asked about my length preference. I began to feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome, so I eventually asked for nude acrylic just so I could get out of there as quickly as possible. During the service, the tech repeatedly pulled out her phone, laughing and sending voice messages. I didn't mind at first, but it became excessive--she stopped to talk on the phone literally every other nail. When it came time to pay, the total was $60, which felt excessive for the minimal work that was done. When I politely asked the man ringing me up if he could explain the pricing, he looked at me like I had two heads. I handed him a $100 bill, and he seemed unsure about how much change he owed me. When I asked for a receipt, he made it feel like a chore. I love getting my nails done and enjoy meeting new nail techs, but this experience was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and disappointing. I saw so many amazing reviews and was excited. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

I waited anywhere from 30-45 minutes each time after my scheduled appointment. The third time, I made an appointment as the first customer and they took a walk-in before me asking me to wait another 30 minutes. Don't bother making an appointment but you may have to wait an hour if you are a walk-in.

Well....Three weeks ago I decided to treat my 6 year old niece to a manicure and although she had a giant smile on her face the whole time and left showing everyone her cute pink nails, I was the person who was truly inspired. Haha, well you see as a mid-thirties art teacher, I wash my hands a million times a day which means that in order to have pretty nails, I must repaint them every day or two which as you can imagine is a pain in the tushy. Well, believe it or not, it turns out that getting your nails done professionally is actually worth it. I'm super late to the scene, I know, I get it. BUT, I am a changed woman now as I currently have perfectly painted, gorgeous purple nails with pink and blue sparkles. I really enjoyed my experience here at LA Nails.
