I ALWAYS get nails done for years now, don't mind paying $$$ for summer always do shorter simple nails, that been said... 1st time walk in just for pedi. Parking lot empty, salon empty, they were just seating around they turned me back cause they were took busy/booked. For sign walk ins welcome. 2nd try pedi done, was ok tools a little sketchy, they pick them from what looks like a toaster oven, idk were the dirty ones went. Mani was a little bit hard, as they don't seem to understand or speak English, my gel set was removed without soaking, only good thing about it. Both mani and pedi gel started to get cloudy and my nails just started to crack and break, little glass. Never had this happen before, was going on vacations couldn't go back. Called to make an SpongeBob as requested by the lady, and ask if could remove gel, cut nails and do a short new set, I was told Yes, and I arrived a guy ask me to seat and asked what you want? Eh... rude... I explain while he is fiddling with my nails, he ripped the gel polish of my nail and yelled NO. CANT DO THAT! Im just in shock and trying to understand why my simple request created such a reaction. 1 of the ladies said something in their language, he naked at me sut there! I'm like where? The lady who was with a customer, wanted to soak my nails, I said no, is just gel you removed my prior set without soaking, she treated me like I'm stupid in front of customers. I have been traveling for 3 weeks and needed a fill done on my nails. I have been trying to get my natural nails to grow out so I can stop with acrylics. I arrived in Candler a few days ago and chose this salon because it had 4+ yelp rating, not sure how they got that, must have been rigged. I arrived for my appointment at 9 and was promptly seated. Emily began to work on my nails and I was shocked that she quickly cut off two of my acrylic nails along with my natural nails, all the way down to the top of my finger. I was upset and told her. Then she turned to another manicurist and spoke Vietnamese which I think is so rude. This practice of speaking in a foreign language when they clearly speak English and know we don't speak their primary language is just so thoughtless. Assume she was complaining about me. She was very hasty in preparing my nails for the fills and then started to add an extension to the nail she had cut off while there were pieces of the previous extension still in place. When I stopped her, she again started speaking Vietnamese to another manicurist. By now, I was really upset and would have left if I had been sure I could have found mother salon to continue. She finished with the acrylic application and then started applying polish before I could even wash my hands. I stopped her twice because she was painting over some sort of fuzz...guess what, she again began talking a language I couldn't understand. 25 minutes after she started, she was done, charged me and I left. I looked at the underside of the nails and the two she had replaced were both separated from my natural nails inviting a fungal infection. I was pissed. There was also fuzz under the nail polish. Honestly, I have never had such a careless hasty and rude manicure. 25 minutes here, an hour at home in California, where a less expensive manicure also includes, a moisturizing hand treatment, careful attention to my nail health, polite conversation and professionalism. I found a different salon and had my nails fixed. Save yourself your hard earned dollars and go somewhere when the manicurist is polite and professional. read more

Took my daughter this morning for a full set. I declined to have anything done and while my daughter was having her nails done the workers kept looking at me talking back and forth and across the room to the woman doing pedicures.. Decided to try Google translate..They were calling me names such as pig..that's fine. They didn't get a tip,and looked absolutely shocked about it..maybe next time don't make fun of your customers. Also,if you're wanting a nice,relaxing environment..this isn't it. They have thier children running around,back and forth out the door of what I guess is a make shift daycare. I understand people sometimes have to bring their children to work,but not having them running in front of people and almost into people every few minutes. We attempted to tell the nail tech we wanted to pay debit,she wouldn't listen or didn't understand..ran our card three times until it locked. Ended up paying in cash. Finally nail quality was poor..fast yes,but my daughters nails had bubbles in the ends of them. We ended up filing them down and having the re run at Avante down the road!! I called and ask if I could get a pedicure in 15 mins. I walked in and was immediately seated. The pedicure was done by a very nice and professional lady. She was very meticulous and thorough. This isn't an extremely fancy place with lots of decor but the pedicure was good. I will be back. read more

Even though I always made appointments well in advance, I was often left waiting to have my nails done when I arrived. In addition, my friend had two terrible experiences there...4 nails were cut too short and lifted at one appointment, and the staff was reluctant to fix the problem; another time, she called to see if she could drop by. They told her that they had a "no call, no show" appointment and to come by. When she DID arrive, that appointment had shown up after all, and my friend was told that they would be able to do her nails. I am in the process of finding a new nail salon, and I would not recommend this one, unfortunately. read more

I really don't understand the low ratings. I love this small nail salon. Only two sisters working, therefore they only take appointments. These ladies are busy, but they have always given me their full attention. I have dip nails, and this salon does an amazing job. I have been there twice. The place is a mess. The girls are nice enough but always in a rush because they are too busy. I was told to make an appointment because it was better. I still had to wait almost a half hour. The nails were not done too well either and I just think they are rushing. They need a couple more sisters and parking spaces. I live right down the road so I thought this would be a convenient stop for me. The first time I went in, just the 2 sisters were working and I sat waiting for about 30 minutes before I realized the women getting their nails done weren't even close to done. So I got up and walked out. One of the sisters followed me out to the parking lot to try and get me back inside, but I just couldn't wait any longer. The second time I came here with my grandmother in law. One of the sisters came to talk with us and whispered to me that she was in the middle of something (with other customers being helped) and asked if we could come back in a few hours.
