I went in to get my nails done a couple times and I noticed that they reuse the nail files and sanding tools after each client. after each client they are supposed to throw em away!!!!. when the OWNER used his nail supplies on me they were covered in nail dust from previous client. I got my nails done at Star Nails yesterday, and I had such a great experience! I requested something a little weird that most shops denied me for, claw nails with black faded tips. Sam did such an amazing job and worked with me very quickly, he was very precise and polite, even funny! The vibe of this place is tranquil and everyone is pretty friendly and polite. Came to Asheville to hang out and was in need of a fresh pedicure. So glad I stopped by. Place is clean and friendly. Was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. For a no chip pedicure I paid $55+tip. Lots of colors to choose from and pedicure was quick and efficient. I came in with no chip polish already on. They didn't soak to remove the polish, instead they used the nail drill bit to get it off. That was a first for me, but it got the job done fast. Would definitely come back again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! They're so greedy they make you wait for hours instead of telling you there's line or don't have the people to do it. I went there 3:30 PM today for fill in and pedicure. They soaked my feet in cold water for an hour before anyone saw me. When they got to my nails 3.5 hours later, the lady got up to wax someone in the middle of doing my nails. Also NOT SANITARY because they're rushing they are touching people to people with the same gloves. When I was frustrated and wanted to pay and leave the man there refused to let me pay or leave, he followed me to the parking lot and yelled racial slurs at me to get in. $75 down the drain! Just loved to Asheville and choose to come to this place that's close to my house and I could not be more disappointed. The girl that "cleaned" my nails didn't even say hello to me and was going super fast without paying attention to detail. I could tail one of my nails was not glued right and she didn't bother to fix it. The last thing they did was cut my cuticles, the LAST thing! Cutting the cuticles is supposed to be the first thing. Since they cut them last, now my nails look like they've been on for a week and I just got them done yesterday. Lastly, when I was about to pay the we're charging me $10 more for the cuticles (which I did not know it was extra) and as the nails where getting done I asked them about the cuticles three times and not once did they tell me it was extra. At the end they didn't charge me for the extra $10 but I was not satisfied with the service at all. read more

Just had a pedicure, and needed a fix for one of my big toes. Got a regular pedicure and gel polish, reg pedicure is $35 and gel plus one big toe with poorly shaped acrylic came out to $65?? That's wild. Perhaps I'm used to lower pricing being from another state but how did we get from $35 to $65? Routine is usually $10 added for gel and $5 for a single fix. Max $15 for gel. Considering he cut my toe nails so short after asking him not to and proceeded to cop an attitude for me expressing that my two big toes look so different and one was crazy long I don't think I'll be going back. Previous ownership was honest with their pricing and provided better service. I hate walking in to a salon and them acting like it's burden to do their job. Like get a new profession then. This is gonna be a hard pass for me, I'd rather order the supplies online and to I'd myself. read more

The best pedicure I've ever had!! I went as a walk in right before 6pm. They had just finished a very busy day but were still open until 7pm. They accepted me as a walk in happily. My pedi was through, relaxing and very well done. They had me dry my polish ( under the lights) even though it was close to 7pm, closing time. When I'm out of town, I like to hit up random places to get pedicures. So happened that I was in Hendersonville and this was the closest one to me. When I walked in, I thought I had taken a trip back in time. The salon reminded me of nail salons back in the late 90's. From the carpeting to the nail stations, even the posters. It was pretty awesome!! Everything looked old, but well kept. Clean salon. Because I have a habit of choosing the most random salons, I really don't have much expectations. I really just want to sit there and relax while I get my foot rubbed. But! Turned out I got an AWESOME pedicure! Tubs get liners too! So points there. Cost was $26, super cheap! I never ask prices, so most places try to up-sell me upgraded pedicures, in which I ALWAYS say "sure!", but the super sweet lady that did mine didn't try to pull that move. Just provided me an awesome service, made only small talk and let me relax. There was a older gentleman there too (I think they are a husband and wife team), and he was very very friendly too. I had acrylic nails done with French tip I hated them they looked normal at first but then when I looked at them when I got in the car I noticed they were crooked like more to one side and kind of round but crooked . Salon was very clean. Went in on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon and I was the only one in there! The staff did not speak except to upsell me to the "deluxe" pedicure. Very rough and I received no leg or foot message. It seemed like the only difference was she wrapped a warm towel around my legs while puting on the polish.
