I brought my teen daughter in this summer for a haircut and it was terrible!! Sorry I don't recall the woman's name who did the haircut. My daughter has long hair and this woman cut layers which is what my girl wanted but the layers were cut up halfway on her head, just random cuts through out her head. Like So D. Who reviewed below I also left the salon disappointed and my fiancé just as appalled. I came in with very frizzy hair after having permed it curly back in April. Like So D. I was happy with the friendliness of everyone. I was told initially by Jennifer that there may be a $25-50 charge if she uses extra product. I noticed she never used "extra product" so almost done with my hair I felt confident that what I paid with Groupon would be it. I initially thought I would give Jennifer $20 tip and then she said "so you have a $50 charge". At this point what could I do but get my CREDIT CARD. I asked her what the charge was for and she said "Groupon only covers above shoulder length". According to So D.'s review, she has above shoulder length hair so now I LAUGH because I was jipped of $50. I guess all I could do is write this review and hope that the next person doesn't fall for this scam. I am a really nice person and don't like to make a big deal of things. I'm not at all wealthy or rich or even remotely well off but I really felt that I needed to fix my hair. Hence the Groupon. Anyway, I can safely say that I won't be returning to this hair salon even though before the $50 charge I was excited that I might have a place to go to consistently. Unfortunately that won't be happening. Sorry Jennifer. Next time make sure you don't charge someone because they purchased a Groupon. The point of Groupon is for the new customer to TRY the place and potentially come back...not to be disappointed and never return. There is really nothing y'all can do to have me return. I am really really sad about this. I know your from Brazil products are "so expensive" but you should cut us Groupon users some slack. 2 stars for the genuine friendliness of the entire staff and because they offer free coffee, water and snacks. I actually waited 3 days before washing my hair with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner and I straightened my hair again. It was easy and good. I always wash my hair every 3-4 days and I was using the sulfate free shampoo and conditioner only. Air drying my hair is becoming a bit more frizzy although not at all compared to before the treatment with the permed hair. Straightening my hair now is nice though. My curls seem to be slowly but surely coming back weird in certain areas. I can't believe that in just 2 weeks even with me doing the right thing, my hair is already getting a bit worse. Sucks but I will do keratin in a few months elsewhere. read more

It was a Sunday afternoon after 4 P.M. & pouring buckets outside. I was ready to go to Supercuts as it was late now & most places were closing. I ran in & said "I got a bad haircut just now, can you please fix it," the place was empty, about to close up soon, with 3 workers, Jay, the owner, told me to "sit down & relax," I was very upset about everything. She must have felt sorry for me, she seemed nice, I might as well let her try to fix my hair, nothing to lose now. She talked to me, said to "forget all my problems in this chair." I told her about my bangs & just to even out the bad, uneven haircut, I told her about my bad OCD, she said I sounded like her mother, her dad was a barber, her sister is a hairstylist too & she's been doing this since she was 12. Jay was so nice & personable. So patient, kind & understanding. She said "hairstylist is like a therapist & that the last person should have took time for a customer that made an appointment." She went over my hair a few times, at my request to make sure it was even. She even was trying to help me with my OCD, saying count to 20. She gave me the name of a therapist, gave me a free bottle of shampoo, my brother used up most of the money at the bad salon 25 bucks & he only had $14 left, she kindly said that was ok. I told her about my monthly column & she was interested & wanted to read it, my brother sent it to her, she even gave me a hug, it's been a long time since I got a real hug, I mainly hugged just my Dad. She said don't forget me, come back in 2 weeks & I'll fix your bangs too short for anyone to fix, an inch & a half over my eyebrows. It was finally a good day & I felt happy, I just wanted to get home rinse out the hair spray & wet it & brush it out myself to check if it was all perfectly even. It was the best haircut I ever got, perfect. Jay saved the day. I highly recommend this wonderful hair salon, not only is it the best haircut I ever got, everybody there is so nice & kind & patient. They listen to you & don't just rush the haircut to be done & go to the next person, like so many other hair salon's do. They really care & take pride in their work. Both Jay and Jen went out of their way to find a solution for me. They genuinely cared. After 30 years, my stylist retired and it took be two years to find a salon that gives me what I need. They know what they're doing and they are fairly priced. So lucky to have them in my corner. read more

I came to the salon for a full head of highlights-My stylist was Jen-As soon as I saw her hairstyle and color, I knew I was in good hands-she had the exact color I wanted. I recently colored my hair and it was one solid color. I felt ugly and boring. My hair turned out beautiful, and I've been happy ever since! Jen is kind and professional- she will do exactly what you want. While my hair was processing, Jen was finishing up a client's color, and the client decided she wanted a completely new haircut. I watch Jen transform shoulder length hair into a beautiful Bob in no time. I didn't have my haircut And I'm very picky about who cuts my hair in general (having a very layered haircut) After watching her work I wouldn't hesitate for her to cut my hair- she knows exactly what she's doing and you could see her years of experience. New to Westchester region and looking for new hairstylist so I enlisted the help of Groupon. Cut, deep conditioner and blow dry for good deal. Was able to make same day appointment. The storefront of this salon is very generic and almost looks like a stationary store. Had I approached this salon without having purchased Groupon I would have definitely walked past. the storefront is very busy appearing with odd maniquen heads in the window. Upon entering, it didn't appear much better. This a towny type salon. Before I could redeem my Groupon I had a 2 sec consultation with a stylist. Because I have long hair they requested a $20 extra fee. SMH. I have not had this experience before and I feel kinda scammed esp since I already purchased the Groupon and don't have too much choice. I'm sitting under the hair dryer for the conditioning treatment now. Hopefully the haircut and dry will be exceptional. Fingers crossed. Will update read more

I literally just got off the phone and am so appalled i felt the need to write here immediately. I had bought a livingsocial coupon for this salon for a balyage treatment , so I called inquiring for an appointment etc. The woman I just spoke to was so rude I wish I got her name but to be honest I was so quick to wanting to jump off the phone because of her attitude. I work in customer service in hospitality and this was atrocious behavior. When I called to inquire the woman basically starts laughing asking if I know what I am talking about, what a balayage even is etc etc (I have worked in hair salons before mind you) then I ask what stylist is best for this.. inquiring for my hair and my hair needs (currently have highlights, what I am looking to do , and where I want my hair to be in a few months etc) and shes like "oh we dont do that here, who is best and what not " and then continuing on and on...while laughing like im an idiot or something... and I was merely asking because everyones hair and needs are different and yes some stylists are better equipped for certain services... that is a known fact... so then she says hold on because she was in the middle of doing something... at that point i was so turned off I said I will call back... which I will not.. I am going to get a refund so I can take my business elsewhere at a different salon... I live in yonkers and this place seemed decent so I was going to give it a new shot.. they just lost a potential lifelong customer... and they didnt even get me to begin with... wow... she needs to check herself ... seriously .... read more

Well... Let's start by saying that my daughter's experience at this place was unprofessional, horrible, and uncaring. I took my daughter to do her lashes at this place. I was disappointed and embarrassed and felt so bad for my daughter. The lady doesn't know what's she was doing. She didn't know how to put the tape underneath the eyes, This was a RED flag, but my daughter gave her the benefit of the doubt and continued with the process. My daughter called me inside the room, for me to see that one side was fuller than the other. My daughter advised her that one side was fuller than the other, so she made it even in both eyes. At this time my daughter was frustrated. We left the place and later that night, my daughter started experiencing heaviness in her eyes and pain. It took her 2 hours to remove the lashes. Once the lashes were removed she ended up with no lashes at all. Her eyes were swollen and irritated to the point that she had to wear sunglasses to work. and for a couple of days later. We text the lady and we question her about her services. We explained to her the pain and frustration her services have cost us. The only thing she had to say was SORRY. We just asked her to do the right thing. Was it the right thing to do? (a refund). We didn't hear from her again, not even a follow-up. If you ever require lashes this is not the place to go. read more

I got a deep conditioning, trim, side bangs, and a blow out. I was very satisfied with the outcome! My hair lasted over a week before I had to wash it again. I received a lot of compliments after I left this salon and I will be returning! They even have a male in the back who does hair plugs and men's hair cuts. read more

Love going to J's because I always walk out feeling better than when I walked in. Jennifer is amazing with color & keratin! I read through some of the negative reviews and all I have to say, you are wrong. I came this way of the salon a few years ago because of a bad experience with a groupon from another salon (never even made it to the salon, after they cancelled several times with all kind of crazy stories for cancelling, thankfully groupon refunded me right away) & a bad keratin from yet, another salon, which told me I had to buy the products in their salon in order to have the best results, $$$. Finally, I decided to be smart & educate myself, I went into the salon, spoke to the owner, showed her my hair, asked abut the groupon, she allowed me to ask questions & explained exactly what the groupon would cover & not cover. I like when I go, especially pre-covid, there is no waiting around, no waiting in between processes, the shop is run professionally, everyone's time is valuable. Other places, I used to be in there for hours for a simple trim & blow dry. To me that is disrespectful. If you need a make over, especially from covid quarantine, the winter, J's is the place to go. All are great, I have seen the end results of other customers, but I am partial to Jennifer because I have never not gotten a compliment on my hair color from strangers when I am out, which lately is just the supermarket. I recently purchased a groupon for the Keratin treatment. I went in on a Thursday morning. They were very accommodating in appt time. Jennifer did my hair. She was very nice and truly knew what she was doing. I have nothing but positive things to say about her. The shocker came at the end when paying. I was told they were up charging me $25 from the Groupon price. I pointed out to the owner I did not require additional product so there was no reason for the extra charge. She stated due to length and texture of the hair they would have to. My hair is above my shoulders and runs on the thin side. Although I was very pleased with they stylist I was disappointed the extra charge. Be prepared to pay $25 above Groupon's price if you go there. Worst service ever. I made an appointment to get my hair done and I wasn't happy with how I was treated. I was told to Take a screenshot on Groupon and present it at the salon. It costs $89 for full highlights , blow dry , and style. I had rinsed out blue hair. She striped my hair but didn't make much of a difference it was a Saturday afternoon and she wanted my hair to be bright green until Wednesday when I explained my birthday was coming up and I neeeded it done. I was upset because as a hair stylist I expected her to do everything she can and 3 others worked on my hair. So I asked them to dye it brown because obviously I'm not gonna wanna be put in public with bright green joker hair. So the brown dye didn't even come out even. I got no blow dry because I was so upset and when it came down to paying she said it was $150 for color strip and one hair color that they didn't even double check to see if it was completely covered and even. My mother explained that I didn't even get a blow dry why it costs so much so she changed the price to $130. I was literally in and out of there they didn't make me feel like they cared about me as a client at all because of there differences with my mother. I don't understand how a full head of color , highlights, style and Blow dry is $89 and then a color strip that didn't really work and one color is $130 that's ridiculous ! SOOOO UNHAPPY read more
