3 piece cod and curly fries (already ate a piece!)
    Tara N.

I can't believe we have never reviewed J's! Hands down the best fish and chips at the coast. Don't sit till you've ordered. Don't expect fancy. Do prepare to be in awe at the cod fish and curly fries. This place is a must stop every year when we come to LC!

Because my friend likes this place, we ordered a family pack of 10 pieces of cod, your choice of fries, coleslaw, and 4 sauces for take out. After taking my first bite, I was somewhat disappointed because there was more breading than I would like. For my fish, I prefer a light crispy batter. As for the sides, the salt and pepper chips were good and the coleslaw as well.

Excellent customer service! Simple menu. Clam chowder is super tasty! Will definitely return.

Busy on a Tuesday at lunch time, so we took it to go and ate lunch on the beach down the street, the guy who took our order was fast and efficient and still friendly and welcoming, not rude or anything, even when there was a rush. He ran a tight ship! Food came out quick and hot! No complaints, napkins, straws, utensils, everything to go was in the bag already waiting, we were out the door quickly and away we went. Very good system they were running there. I recommend if you want good quick seafood on the coast! I got the combo, 2 cod 1 halibut 2 big shrimp, and a big mound of curly fries (you can pick reg fries or chips too) and slaw) and the sauce is good too. Not bad for the price! This place isn't fancy but it's great food. It was busy in the middle of the week so you know it's worth it.

    Three piece Cod

We were looking for a good place to have some fish and chips. This place was beyond good!!! It's a small spot, with explicit instructions when you enter (I'm assuming they get a lot of traffic and need to keep it moving). We were kindly greeted! We ordered at the counter and were then instructed which table at which to sit. I had the three piece of Cod, my husband had the combo which included cod, halibut and shrimp. The food was served piping hot and was AMAZING! The breading was a thin crunchy batter instead of that thick beady batter. And their tartar sauce - not sure if it was homemade but it was fantastic! It had large pieces of pickle in it and wasn't super sweet. All in all, a fantastic place to eat fish.

The thin (if creamy) sparsely-clammed chowder seems that it must be so drastically under seasoned because the lady at the counter is so salty with their "Seinfeld soup nazi"-like rules for managing the queue. There was zero forgiveness offered for our 80-year-old in-laws who accidentally said "yes" when they asked "to-go or staying -in?"-- and though we sailed thru The Rules acceptably they wouldn't let us give up our table to them. Parents goofed up and had to eat in their car. We got to eat-in. J's does seem a popular spot with a steady queue and long food waits. Panko breaded-style fish portions (rather than the beer batter we wish they had) were tasty and juicy-- with a decent tartar sauce and malt vinegar standard-- and I'm not sure that I doubt their claims to being a local award-winner. Although the fish was good enough to overshadow the fries being standard-nothing-special, and cole slaw decent, yet "KFC" style of expectedness, the dour sadness of their weak-sauce chowder makes me think we were recommended to go to J's as a diversion so the locals can get a better fish and chowder lunch elsewhere. 2.5 stars.

We arrived at an odd hour and after inquiring about their items I was interested in I stated I would check what else was available as this is in a food truck court. We had not visited this location so checked the other vendors and decided I knew I wanted the Lobster roll. I came back with a sign saying they were on a break... I felt, wow my luck didn't come around today.. I told my husband I may just wait because I was so excited to try it. So I did... and wow am I happy I did. I have had a couple lobster rolls in my life and have never cared or was excited much about PoBoy style sandwiches. This sandwich was one of the best I can ever remember having. I'm quite picky especially with sandwiches/rolls. I hope anyone who had the opportunity can try this gem. I'm excited to try more.

We saw a lot of reviews talk about how good the Ramen was so we decided to try it and honestly didn't have very high expectations due to a small town The meal blew us away. The lobster roll was delicious but did wish the lobster pieces had more coating of sauce. When eating the bit with the greens it was delish. The lobster portion was pretty good compared to other rolls we've had. The spicy crab ramen was definitely the star. The broth was spicy and flavorful, but not too spicy, and there was a pretty decent portion of Dungeness crab, which we were surprised because we were expecting a little spec. There was lots of fixing steaks cooked perfectly and lots of noodles. we will definitely stop here every time we come back to Lincoln city now for that Ramen.

We got their chicken t'sami and their lingcod fish n' chips, which went well with their sweet tea that we ordered. My boyfriend got the huckleberry sweet tea which had a sour and sweetness to it, and I got a regular sweet tea which had this really floral fragrance to it and the sweetness was just right. The fish n' chips were really good, the batter around the fish was golden and crispy, the fish was flaky and soft. So good that my boyfriend ate it while it was piping hot! The fries were perfect and crispy. The owner was so nice and brought out an aioli that tasted so good with the fries (reminded me of the animal sauce from In N' Out). The chicken t'sami was also really good, the chicken was juicy and crispy, and paired well with the pickles and slaw. The ciabatta bread was soft and everything felt so fresh. I would totally get the t'sami again. My boyfriend decided to order their clam chowder as well since that's what everyone else was raving about as well. The clam chowder did not disappoint. It was homey and perfect! We were so full and happy with our visit! They have come a long way, and we will definitely visit again

There's a piano in the lobby and unobstructed views of the coast and when you look down, the sand is right there! Would love to stay here one day. The food was flavorful. I'd rate this overall a 8.8/10. The crab cakes and steak were both house made and very fresh. The steak was perfectly made and bursting with flavor, (T-bone pictured). The side salad was heaping and great to share. The french onion was flavorful but we added some salt and pepper for ourselves. The potatoes bravas were *not* papas bravas and more like breakfast potatoes so if you're craving tapas like potatoes, I would advise considering abstaining from ordering, perhaps. For dessert, the Marion berry cobbler was incredibly fresh and tart. The ice cream paired very well with the Marion berry and pecan crust. I'd love to try the crème brûlée, key lime pie, and lemon cakes one day! What a special place. Took a day trip from Portland to see the ocean, and this was so lovely. We were seated immediately at the bar at sunset on a Sunday afternoon after stumbling across Fathoms. My personal tip for the ladies: the ladies restroom in the bar area has the best views in the house. I snuck a couple trips there to see the sunset from there. My mouth was watering to try the focaccia bread with olive oil, but my husband reminded me I'd already promised him clam chowder elsewhere! Our server was friendly and prompt. We visited during Happy Hour (3-5 PM), where the Margherita pizzas are only $15--which was perfect for us. We also ordered a Double Oaked Old Fashioned and a gin gimlet.
