The best food we've had at the Oregon coast in the 16 years we've lived here. Their adjoining shop and waiting area is ADORABLE and has some great gifts, housewares, cookbooks and goodies. Love this cute little pizza restaurant! We stopped by on a day trip to Lincoln City after friends who live nearby said it's a 'must-try.' Typically, we eat seafood while at the beach, but we decided to switch it up with wood-fired pizza and craft cocktails. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated. The wood-fire pizza oven is gorgeous, and the gold-accented octagon tile, antique furniture, and rustic wood floors really warm up the space. The menu is small but offers a great variety of both classic and unique pizza options. We also loved the appetizer and salad selections. My mouth was watering to try the focaccia bread with olive oil, but my husband reminded me I'd already promised him clam chowder elsewhere! Our server was friendly and prompt. Since this is a small space that seats about 20-25 people, a waitline is a common occurrence, yet we never felt rushed. We visited during Happy Hour (3-5 PM), where the Margherita pizzas are only $15--which was perfect for us. We also ordered a Double Oaked Old Fashioned and a gin gimlet. The bad: I had read to expect to wait. We showed up at 4:30 in the afternoon on a Friday in January. Still was not prepared for standing in their tiny lobby for an hour and twenty five minutes with only 3 couples ahead of us. Really would have been nice for the staff to give some indication of how long we would be standing there, or offer to call us when a table was ready. It was very rainy so standing outside on the sidewalk wasn't gonna happen. We would have given up and gone somewhere else about halfway through had I not read so many glowing reviews including so many that said it was worth the wait. Parking is a block away, and the walk is uphill which can be rough in the rain so for those who may be disabled this could be tough. The good: Having said all that, it was probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The fungo (mushroom pizza) is so good it's almost indescribable. Very unique. Most mushroom pizzas have a cream sauce but this one has a red sauce, and The rosemary was completely unique. Fantastic flavor blend. Our first indication that this was the pizza to order here was that we observed through overheard conversations that almost everyone there was local, and to a table they all ordered it. Also, the tiramisu was definitely the best I have ever tasted hands down. It is worth going here for that alone I can't say enough good things about it. Was it worth the wait? Unsure. It was a very long time to stand in a spot while hungry without anyone giving any kind of indication how long you may be there, and basically ignoring everyone waiting. If they offer to go phone orders ( I do not know if they do) this would be a no brainer as the food is crazy good for the price. I may go again if I were here on a week day, or an out of the ordinary time, but not anywhere during a normal dinner time, or on a weekend. If based solely on food quality and price I would give it 5 stars. However, being from out of town and having very limited time here this weekend, that did sour the experience. read more

Good restaurants on the coast can be a bit tricky to find, so I was so excited to discover that Hearth and Table is a delicious spot to add to my list! They're in a quaint little shop and have created a very homey experience for those that dine with them. Our food was incredible, came out very quickly, and paired with our fantastic drinks, it was truly a great night out. We were also pleased to discover that the quince tart was sourcing their fruit right from our servers back yard! I highly recommend checking this spot out, but I would call in advance or prepare yourself for a long wait. It's unfortunate that I'm giving 3 stars because if it was all about the food then I would have given it 5 stars. The pizzas and salads were amazing. Our experience was ruined by a very rude hostess who answered the phone. I called around 5:30pm to do a take out order. My brother was coming into town around 6:30pm and we wanted to have food available when he arrived. I asked the lady on the phone how long it would take for our order to be complete. She said 20 minutes so I asked her if she could wait to put in our order around 6pm. She very rudely just said "no" and followed it up by saying, "even if you call back at 6 it's unlikely I can take a to-go order" she didn't stop there she ended it with, "if I did it for you I would have to do it for everybody". Now I know what she was trying to say and we heated up the pizzas in the oven and they were still fantastic but the way she said it is not a way you should talk to customers. Hearth & Table popped up at the top of the recommended list when we were looking at the current state of affairs in Lincoln City. It turned out to be with very good reason, indeed. After signing in, we wandered through the adorable housewares shop next door, and then ordered a couple of glasses of wine to keep us company in the waiting area. The person handling seating kept a close eye on the clipboard, and did a very attentive job of managing lots of people waiting for a small number of tables. Their ETA estimates were very good. And now for the food, which was very, very good indeed. We had their Campagna salad, with arugula, walnuts, feta, onions, and a simple, terrific dressing. Our pizza was a perfect example of "trust the chef" - my wife's motto when we encounter something different on a menu. The Kofta pizza came with seasoned lamb, and a small pile of salad in the center, that contained a bit of mint, and went beautifully with the lamb. The Bartender was engaging and made my wife and I an excellent set of drinks (Elderflower Gimlet, and a Bees Knees). We even got the drink recipe. We've driven past so many times but never realized there was a restaurant inside. After seeing the reviews we decided to stop in. The place is quite small, so with minimal tables available they've got a sign-in clipboard hanging at the entry from which they'll call you when a table empties. Service was very friendly and attentive, and the wait for the food was pretty fast. They've got a small but attractive menu. We opted for sharing a pizza and salad, and both tasted as good as they looked. Very fresh ingredients, great flavors, perfectly wood fired. Gave this restaurant full five stars last year. We ordered takeout from them twice when we were visiting Lincoln city last year. Food was very good. This year, different story. We tried to call multiple times in the early evening hours and no one bothered to answer the phone. My husband drove to the restaurant to place our takeout order, only to find out that now they have decided they will no longer allow people to take food out of their restaurant. That is really freaking odd. What is extremely unfortunate is that they do not bother to post anywhere on their website that you cannot do takeout. All they bother to state is that you cannot place a reservation. Would've been nice if they could've picked up the phone and we could've learned this much quicker. We visit Lincoln City at least one time a year and noticed this highly rated pizza place in the land of seafood. We were greeted when we walked to this small space with a lot of activity happening. I could see pizzas being plated while we waited and got excited because they looked small (thinking a personal style size). I told my wife we can order what each of us wants and if there is a piece left over, we'll take back to the hotel. The wait wasn't too long (we were there in early March) for a Saturday night. Since we were on vacation we splurged on a very tasty cider and I had a peach mule. They were so good that we debated having a second one, but decided to drive back instead of walking. We also ordered the Olive Oil Focaccia as an appetizer as my wife is a semi-pro baker and I was curious (and hungry) how it stacked up to hers. Hearth & Table's focaccia was excellent. Baked well without being oily the oil and balsamic served with it was excellent. There is enough there for 4 people to enjoy so half of ours went back to the hotel with us. Then we ordered two pizzas because I thought they looked small while we were waiting for our table. Clearly, I need to have my eyes checked. The pizzas are not small and two people could share one pretty easy. I don't regret ordering two though, since my wife and I enjoy trying different things. I ordered the Fungo and asked if I could add pepperoni and she had the Giardino. They are making some great pizzas here and it really was the highlight meal of the 5 days were on the coast. We did finish with a chocolate chip cookie that was amazing. It was so good two days later we wanted to stop by and pick up another one, but they were closed. This place is amazing! We had warmed olives for an appetizer and the verde pizza for our entree. Both were perfect. The wood-fired oven made the crust just perfect. The staff's warmth and efficiency made our five-star experience complete. I'm a regular visitor to the coast from Portland and have grown to expect some burnout and annoyance from the locals, but not here. You definitely have to wait a while for a table, but they let us know what time period to expect so we could decide if we wanted to stay. We did decide to stay and had some cocktails while we did.
