This is the first fast food joint that I have ever experienced charging a credit card fee. There are no signs that I saw saying that if you use a credit card this business is going to charge a credit card fee. So my total came out to just under $12.50. Sure, I can afford it. It's the practice and principal of not telling the customer in advance there will be an extra credit card fee. The kid who brought my order said "oh yeah, that's an automatic thing with Visa." LOL No, it's not automatic. Its your owner who has decided to pass the charge along to the customer instead of absorbing the fee like 99% of all other restaurants do. In other words...being cheap! The Burger: This was a single burger with lettuce onions tomatoes. You get an option of grilled or raw onions. I can think of at least 5 other non-franchise fast food joints along highway 101 that make a better tasting burger. It wasn't at all bad. But it wasn't great...and far from my favorite of non-gourmet burgers which is In-n-Out. The combo came with the burger, fries and drink, plus a small dish of what looks like fry sauce. Except they like to write fancy stuff with ketchup in the fry sauce. Whatever... The fries were good. They were crisp, not limp and not greasy. They serve Coke products. The help was friendly, and far from typical zombies at McDonalds wondering why you didn't order from the kiosk. As said, if it weren't for the extra Visa charge, Highway101 Burger would be 4 stars.
