I have had a couple of massages in the past, but recently I've been going on a monthly basis at JRS MASSAGE. I do a lot of weight training so my muscles need a deep massage! What I love about Jason is that he listens to your needs and adjusts to to your body. He really gets to know you and understands what needs to be done. The setting is very professional and I always leave relaxed. The price is great. Most massage places make you sign up for a monthly subscription or stop at the 1 hour mark. Jason is flexible and focuses on providing you the needed massage. I'd recommend Jason because of his excellent customer service and price. I saw a groupon deal for Jason and based on the feedback, gave it a shot. I've never really enjoyed massages from an inexpensive foot massage to a not so inexpensive private spa massage. It has never made me feel relaxed. It was sort of difficult to find Jason's office because there were three buildings that look exactly the same and a tree covered the building number where the office is located. But of course I found it after circling a few times. Jason was very thorough in asking questions about your needs and took notes every session. The massage is done in a private room. It's the only room and usually very quiet. I don't like it when you can hear people talking outside. Jason does use scented oils, your choice, and hot towels which I liked. I requested medium pressure and it was perfect! I finally enjoyed a massage. Jason offered the same groupon rate for my next few visits which was very nice of him. His regular rate is quite affordable as well. He does get booked fast and he'll usually let me know if a spot opens up. read more

Jason is a phenomenal massage therapist! I have met at least 10 therapists in the last two years and no one stands out as much as Jason. Jason is the first therapist ( in my experience) who takes the time to listen to my needs and actually delivers! He is extremely patient and never rushes his work. Jason is conscientious, caring, and he has a scientific and health minded; more trained approach to massage. I don't know very much about the study of massage, but of all the massages I have experienced, his approach takes more care to actually pay attention to areas that need worked out with technique and movement. To me, that is more important than the "fluffy" spa experience of massage just for the sake of massage. Having said that, Jason also asks just the right questions to check on applied pressure, and checks in regularly. His presence is gentle and genuine, he uses cutting-edge products like essential oils that help rejuvenate the skin and make the client feel more comfortable, without trying to push the product on the client. Whenever I have visited places like Massage Envy, I always feel the pressure to sign up for more sessions or to sign some sort of contract. I do not feel this way here, which is very important to me. I am no stranger to massages, I've had many in my lifetime and Jason's massages are by far the absolute BEST I've ever had. During my first visit, Jason got to know me and wanted to know what I was looking to accomplish during my session. We discussed my goals and Jason was able to inform me on what he would be doing during the massage to accomplish my goals. Jason has a strong touch but not uncomfortable at all. I have been seeing Jason for monthly massages for about a year and a half now. He is hands down the best massage therapist I have ever worked with. I initially found him via Groupon and glad I did! He takes great notes and will make you feel extremely comfortable with each session (as well as recapping the previous session). I recently moved to Lockhart and planning to continue to see him in North Austin when I am able. He even works with me on scheduling, even though I am a hot mess sometimes. JR is masterful, he listens to both you & your body to analyze your special needs. This is not a fancy spa atmosphere, JR works out of an office building off 2222 near Mopac, it's a quiet, non pretentious place for anyone looking for a terrific massage. Jason does a fantastic job, getting to know what are my issues then addressing them through massage. He has addressed sore and/or knotted muscles, still neck, lower pack pain - I always leave relaxed and so glad I came. He is helpful in showing me ways to improve my exercise or stretching to keep active and help my body recover. I found Jason through Groupon and I am so glad I did. If he comes off as a little stern, it's because he's so serious about giving you an awesome massage. This is not Massage Envy! Jason is very intentional about taking the time to understand you individual needs. He takes notes and he gives you insight about your body and where you're holding stress. He gives you advice for what to do between sessions to work on that. I'm a dancer, and he's helped me tremendously with the tension in my legs and ankles.
